Happy New Year...

I'm checking off my card to do list...two posts today=)  I made this card for Tiddly Inks New Year Card Event.  Christy was kind enough to supply this lil' guy as a digi freebie...(thanks Christy) isn't he just adorable!  This is the first time I've ever used a digital image.  My dear hubs had to help me figure out the size settings and we had a bit of a paper issue.  Our printer wouldn't feed my Neenah Cardstock =(  So, this lil' guy had to be printed on GP Cardstock, sigh.  I colored him in with Copics.  The DSP is American Crafts, Jolly.  The sentiment is also a free digi from Tiddly Inks (thanks again Christy!)  I used this weeks SC313
Have a great night and thanks Hun for your help!

Case'ing Christmas Cards...

For week 4, we're Case'ing any DT Members Card over at Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenges.  I Case'd Sparkle's Week #7 Card.  I used a CC Designs image, but changed the papers, and didn't do the stitching since this gal has yet to learn how to sew=(  I used my Fancy Pants Hot Chocolate Papers since they were still on my desk from my last post.  I just love those colors together!  I colored in Winter Emma with Copics on Neenah Cardstock.  I used a lil' Smooch on the ruffle on her shirt and some stickles on the snowflake.
I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays.  I'll be catching up on some card making...I just picked up some super cute papers from work last night- I can't wait to play with them!
Thank-you for stopping by!

Rootbeer Truffle...

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.  We had a nice Christmas morning watching our grandson Wylie open his presents.  I had the best gift of all, which was having my daughter and grandsons here with us.  We had a nice Christmas Dinner and have been spending the day hanging out together.                     We're now on week 3 of Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge.  Our challenge was to incorporate Holiday Travel into our card.  One of the guys that use to go to our VW Car Meet had a Golf that was the color of Rootbeer.  I loved it.  I picked up some Fancy Pants Hot Chocolate Paper at work the other day and thought it would go perfect for this challenge.  I colored in the A Muse Holiday Car with Copics on Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I embellished it with Smooch, Stickles, and a Glaze Pen. I used  SC312 and flipped it.                                   Thank-you for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your Christmas with your family!

Peace, Dreams & Wishes...

Another Christmas Card for 2011!!!  This is for week 2 of Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge.  This week we were to use an Angel on our card.  I've had this Elzybell for a couple of years now and this is the first time she's seen ink!  I stamped her with Momento Ink on Neenah Cardstock and colored her in with my Copics.  I used Smooch on the wings, halo and cloud and added some Glamour Dust to the cloud as well.  I put Stickles on the stars and gave her some sparkly red shoes=)  I used Martha Stewart and SU Punches and Denami Design Buttons.  The DSP is Provo Craft Holiday Slab.  My layout is this weeks Card Patterns Sketch 94
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Kuddo's for Kathy...

My BFF Kathy graduates from school today.  She went to Pharmacy Tech School and already has a job!  I'm so proud of her!!!                            Since it's so close to Christmas I wanted to use Christmas colors on my card.  I used CPS197 for my layout.  I stamped Diplomabella from Stamping Bella on Bella's Bestest Paper, coloring her in with my Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  I added Stickles to her diploma, flowers, tasel and sash.  Smooch to her cap and gown.  I used a glaze pen on her boots.  And Denami Design Ribbon...I just love their ribbon!  The sentiment is a $1 stamp from Michael's.
I hope ya'll are having a great week.  Can you believe there's just 10 more days until Christmas???  Thank-you for stopping by!

Giftabella

My first day at work one of the customers brought in gift bags with homemade cookies for all the ladies, even one for me.  The Friday before I started my job, I was at MAC getting a new eye look=)  It turned out that the gal that was doing my eyes, her mom was at the scrapbook store I was going to start working at having her birthday celebration with her girlfriends.  Later that evening she stopped in and told the ladies about me...isn't that sweet?!?!  I made this for Sandra to thank her for her treats.  It was also my entry for Stamping Bella Bellarific Friday Challenge which was to make some type of gift, gift card holder, etc.  I got to thinking that maybe the pretzels might be stale and worried about it so I took the tag off and made it into a card for Sandra instead, lol...which I forgot to take a picture of, sigh.
I stamped Jinglebella in Momento Ink on Neenah Cardstock, coloring her in with my Copics.  I used Liquid Applique for the white trim on her outfit, stickles on the holly berries and star and smooch on the tree tinsel.  The ribbon is from Denami Design.
Thank-you for stopping bye.  Have a wonderful week!

Purple Snowflakes...

I'm going to give it another go at Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenges.  This is week one for our 2011 Christmas Cards, that's right...Christmas 2010 hasn't happened and I've made my first Christmas card for 2011.  I tried to do all the challenges for this year but life got a little crazy for me.  I hope to stay on track with my 2011 cards.
I used CPS 196 for my layout.  I stamped the Serene Snowflake in Lavendar Lace, adding smooch and stickles to it.  I did the same for the Baroque Motif part.  I used Denami Design Ribbon and Button and Marvy Punch for the Snowflake...adding lots of stickles to it=)
Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great rest of your weekend!

Congratulations to the Peterson's...

I have some news to share...no...I am not pregnant! lol.  I was offered a job at my LSS!  I started training on Monday and know I'm going to love working there!
One of my hubs co-workers and his wife just found out THEY are expecting=)  I wanted to make them a card to celebrate their exciting news.
I started off using MOJO79 and it ended up not being the sketch.  Sometimes that happens I guess, lol.  I stamped Expectafellabella on Neenah Cardstock in Momento Ink, coloring them in with my Copics.  I used some Smooch on the flower in her hair and skirt.  The DSP is Garden Party from DCWV.  I used SU Ribbon, Punch, and Pacific Pointe Cardstock.  Denami Design buttons, of course=)
Thank-you for stopping by.  I hope ya'll have a great weekend.  We are going to hubs 2nd Christmas Party on Friday night.  Should be fun!

With Sympathy...

I was heartbroken to hear that an old friend of mine lost her sweet husband unexpectedly just before Thanksgiving.  My heart breaks for Penny...  Brian was such a wonderful guy and will be missed by so many!  I found this quote that I wrote on the inside-
"Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow,
May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow"                 Author Unknown.
I had a completely different vision for my card then I saw this card in the SCS Gallery and liked the look so I thought I'd give the "Black Magic" technique a try.  I stamped the flowery thingie with white craft ink on black cardstock and heat set it.  I used my Prismacolor Pencils to color the image.  I took smooch to the middles of each petal.  I highlighted with a white gel pen.
Thank-you for stopping by.  Please keep Penny and Brian's family in your prayers.

World Aids Day...

Though my post is late in the evening, I made this for World Aids Day.  It's in honor of someone I've never met, Mondo of this season's Project Runway.  He's secretly lived with Aids for 10 years of his life, not telling anyone.  I can not imagine living with a secret as big as living with Aids...can you imagine not having a soul know your secret, not having anyone to lean on for support during your lowest of times?  I don't know that I could do it.  His strength and courage to let his secret be known on national tv was absolutely touching.  I've never cried more watching a reality show before.  He was amazing on Project Runway and I still say he should've won, lol.  He created a t-shirt for World Aids Day, it can be found HERE.
I used this weeks SCS CC299, which was Real Red, Old Olive, and River Rock.  I stamped the Tree from Branch Out in Chocolate Chip on River Rock Cardstock.  I stamped the leaf thingies in Certainly Celery and Old Olive then sponged more Old Olive on top.  I stamped a line of butterflies in Real Red across the tree.  I used Martha Stewart Punches and Denami Design Ribbon.
Thank-you for stopping by.  Hope ya'll enjoy the rest of your week.  I'm getting my hair cut and shopping for a dress for one of my hubs Christmas Parties on Thursday=)

Laughter is the best Medicine...

One of my hubs troops was admitted into the hospital on Thanksgiving Day=(  Thankfully he went to the ER...his appendix had ruptured a couple of days earlier.  They put in stints and in about 6 weeks he'll have to have his appendix removed.  Poor guy is still in the hospital so I wanted to make him a card to lift his spirits.
My card is CAS (clean and simple).  I used my Scor-Pal for the first time today to make the lines at the bottom and right side of my card.  I think there's a learning curve to using it, lol!  I colored the lil' Doctor in with Copics on Neenah Cardstock, layering him on Night of Navy.  Both stamps are from A Muse.  The ribbon and button are from Denami Design.
I hope ya'll have a great week!

Winter Whiteabella...

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday.  We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner and have lots of leftovers!  The things I'm thankful for this year are-  My newest grandson Connor.  My daughter and grandboys moving in with us.  Waking up to Wylie's big smile.  I'm especially thankful for my hubs who made their move possible and who gave me the craft cave of my dreams=)  My in laws who've helped us out so much this year.  Marc who made the kids transition so much easier.  I'm blessed to have a wonderful family and such great friends in my life!
This is my entry for the Bellarific Friday Challenge over at Stamping Bella which was to do an all white card.  This is a first for me, I'm use to some color!  I kinda like it tho=)  I stamped Wreathabella in Momento ink and colored her in with my Copics.  I added Smooch to the white bits she's wearing and some Stickles to her hat, boots, ribbon and holly berries.  I used the Snowflake and Pindots CB Folders for the layers.  I glittered up a snowflake from a Marvy Punch with Glamour Dust.  I'm kinda bummed that the snowflake photographed cream instead of crisp white=(  I used SC308 for my layout.
Thank-you for stopping by.  Is anyone braving Black Friday?

Give Thanks...

So I feel guilty that I'm crafting when my house is still a mess from my daughter and grandboys moving in=(  I guess sometimes you have to walk away from the madness and give yourself some "you" time, eh?  Well, I made several of these...a few for my hubs troops and for the ladies that belong to my spouse's group.  We're actually headed to Joe's Crab Shack for our meeting tonight.  I've never been there before~my hubs doesn't like sea food=(
Anyhow... I made this for Denami Design's Sketch Challenge #5.  Isn't that Turkey from Denami Design just the cutest lil' guy???  I stamped him with Momento ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock and colored him in with my Copics.  I stamped the Give Thanks Circle Stamp also from Denami Design on Crumb Cake Cardstock, mounting it on Cherry Cobbler.  I ran Early Espresso through the Cuttlebug then used the SU Scallop Border Punch on it.  I mounted my card (3.75 x 4.75 premade notecard) on Pumpkin Pie Cardstock just to give it a little more umph.
Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day!

Welcome Home Sebastian...

This is the first card I made after returning home and it's one very special card!  Our friends Rosy and Noel adopted a little boy on October 11th.  They named him Sebastian.  I was so happy for them to finally be blessed with the most precious gift on earth, a baby.  It was so neat to follow their process and excitement while I was away over fb.  I shed many tears of joy for them.  I haven't met Sebastian yet, but can't wait to!
This is also my entry for The Bellarific Friday Challenge over at Stamping Bella.  It was a sketch challenge.  I stamped Babyfellabella from Stamping Bella on Bella's Bestest Paper with Momento Ink and colered it in with my Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  I put a little Glamour Dust on her skirt, hard to tell tho.  The sentiment is Sweet Little Sentiments from Stampin' Up!  I used Bazzill White, Bordering Blue, Dusty Durango Cardstock and Making Memories DSP.  The ribbon is from the $1 bin at Target=)  My buttons are of course from Denami Design...
My hubs squadron is having a Thanksgiving Luncheon this afternoon.  I'm looking forward to going.  I haven't seen the ladies since I got back...and my fingers are crossed little Sebastian will be there=)  Thank-you for stopping by!  Hope ya'll have a great weekend!

Camping out...

Ahhh...I have to say it is SO refreshing to be home and in my Craft Cave where all my goodies are at my finger tips!  It brings a HUGE smile to my face when I open the door to my Cave and see my orange walls=)  It truly is my happy space!  I made this for my hubs friend Marc who let us "camp out" at his house for several weeks while he's been deployed.  I wanted to send him a little card to let him know we're thinking of him.  Marc likes Moose so this Riley image is just perfect.  I hope some happy mail will brightens his day!
I stamped Tent Riley from Riley and Company on Crumb Cake Cardstock with Momento Ink.  I colored him in with my Copics.  I used Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, and Garden Green for my layers.  I picked up the dsp from Joann's a couple days ago.  The ribbon is a random scrap I got while in Idaho, I wish I could've bought a spool of it!  The buttons are from Denami Design.
We are going to Fuddruckers for dinner tonight.  They are kindly donating a portion of their sales today to my hubs squadron.  Thank-you Fuddruckers!  Thank-you for stopping by, hope ya'll have a great rest of your day!

My Knight in Shining Armor...

I tell ya, it sure was hard to create with basic supplies while I was away.  This is the last card I have to share that I made while I was in Idaho.  It of course is for my hubs=)  I wanted to let him know I was thinking of him and thank him for preparing our home for our daughter and grandboys to move into and for all else that he's done to make their move possible.  He worked so hard to get things done around the house and I really appreciate it!  He really is My Knight in Shining Armor.                   Ok, first I have to say that I felt so horrible when I sat down to post this card.  I made this mid October and I know I used someone's sketch for this card but I forgot to write the card details down=(  If you recognize it, please let me know so I can give proper credit to the sketch creator=).  Ok, onto the card details...I stamped the Princess Castle, Princess Chickie and Knight Chickie from Denami Design with Momento ink, colored them in with my Prismacolor Pencils and OMS on Neenah Cardstock.  I put some Flower Soft on her little skirt.  I added stickles to the roof tops, flag and heart and smooch to the windows tho hard to tell in the picture.  I also added smooch to the second image layer to give it a little more depth to the card.  The yellow layer is ribbon=)...I had to get creative!  The buttons and ribbon are from Denami Design.
Thank-you for stopping by, hope ya'll have a great week!

Grateful and Thankful...

For an old co-worker of my hubs, Doug.  He looked after Marc's house while my daughter and I stayed there and took care of anything that came up.  He was a  life saver and fixed my daughters truck when it broke down...I don't know what we would've done without him!  Mikaela's truck made the drive fom ID to AZ no problem!  I'll be forever grateful and thankful for all that he did for us during our stay in ID!
I made this for Doug while I was still in ID and had "limited supplies".  I colored the filigree stamp from Denami Design with my Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  I added some stickles to it for a lil' bling.  I bought the DSP and Ribbon from Walmart.
We are having company this evening, I must admit...I'm a little stressed as my daughter's apartment is still scattered throughout my house.  Luckily it's just my in-laws...hopefully they'll understand.
Have a wonderful day.

Mr. & Mrs. McCallum...

This has to be my favorite sketch for Monogram Cards.  I use it over and over for gifts for family and friends.  This set is for my daughter's BFF Jessi, who got married yesterday.  Jessi was such a beautiful bride.  My daughter and I did her make-up=)  Though she didn't wear the traditional white dress (her dress was burgundy and black)... it was so pretty and she looked stunning in it!  We decorated the hall with a fall theme, everything just looked so beautiful.  Jessi's mom and dad (Tammy and Chad) are the sweetest most wonderful people.  I am so glad to have gotten to know them.
So onto my card=)  I love this Monogram Stamp Set from  JustRite.  I love it's simple and classic style.  I also love that they fit perfectly in the SU 1 1/4 inch punch, makes assembling so fast and simple, which I love!  I made 35 cards, for them.  23 with the rose pattern and 12 with the second pattern.  I made an extra card front to decorate a black gift bag to put all the cards in, which I of course forgot to take a picture of=(  Ah well...
I hope everyone has a Happy Halloween. I'm looking forward to taking my oldest grandson Wylie Trick or Treating, he's going to be a Cowboy.  Connor is going to be a Lion.  What are your children (or grandchildren) going to be for Halloween?  We're leaving in the morning for Arizona.  I'm so excited and happy to be heading home.  I've missed my hubs and chihuahua's dearly.  I'm looking forward to getting my daughter and grandboys there and settled into their new home with us.
Have a great week everyone!

Fell for You...

I made this card (before I left for Idaho) for my daughter's best friend Jessi who's getting married today.  Since I forgot to do a prepost before leaving AZ, I've had the opportunity to meet Jessi and get to know her a little.  She is such a kind, sweet, lady with such a giving heart.  I've enjoyed the time I've spent with her and I'm so glad I had the pleasure of getting to know her.  Her and her fiance were kind enough to give me their parking spot while I stayed at Mikaela's apartment (thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!) I appreciated that SO much!  Jessi is the reason I stayed in Idaho so long...Mikaela's her Maid of Honor and Wylie's a ring bearer=)  I wish her and Tim a long happy life together!
Ok...onto my card!  I really like how it turned out.  I love the colors fall bring and I'm so thankful to be here to see the turning of the leaves one last time.  I used Card Patterns Sketch 78.  I colored Tied-the-knot-abella from Stamping Bella in with my Prismacolor Pencils and OMS on Neenah Cardstock.  I used Crystal Lacquer on the mirrors and all the metal parts.  I also added some Smooch to the Bride's Veil to give it some shimmer.
Thank-you for stopping by.  One more day then we are headed home...FINALLY!!!

Supplies:
Paper:  Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip
Ink:  Momento Black
Accessories:  SU Ribbon, CB Folder, Stickles, Smooch, Crystal Lacquer

Wine, a Girl's Best Friend...

Today is my BFF Kathy's Birthday.  We first met at a Squadron BBQ in Colorado back in 1997.  We've pretty much been the bestest of friends since.  Kathy has a love for Wine.  She use to be apart of a Wine Club at VAFB as well as volunteer at a Winery in the area.  A visit at her house (which unfortunately isn't that often since we live in different states) usually consists of us having a glass of wine=)  She got me hooked on Moscato years ago, love that stuff!  Anyhow, if she's reading my blog, she now knows what her card looks like, lol...as of now it is still sitting on Marc's kitchen table...I just can't seem to get the cards out in the mail on time, ugh.
My card is pretty simple and basic.  I colored her in the same way I did on my last post since I used the same paper and embellishments.
We have 5 more days until we leave, but who's counting???  Enjoy the rest of your week!

Belated B-day Wishes for Mariah...

For a dear fried of my daughter's.  Mariah's birthday was earlier this month.  She came down from Spokane (where she's currently going to school) for a jammed packed weekend.  We went to the pumpkin patch, did the corn maze, had a BBQ, and went out for belated birthday celebrations...and that's just what she did with us=)  Mariah's been so good to my daughter and grandson Wylie.  He just loves Mariah to pieces!  I'm so thankful she's been there for them after we moved to AZ.
I brought some images with me that I've had for ages.  They came from the bellaholics group, I miss that group and the Stamping Bella Forum on SCS=(  Anyhow, I colored Partygirlabella from  Stamping Bella in with my Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  I added Flower Soft to the top of her hat, Smooch to her balloons, and Stickles to the cupcake.  The Ribbon is from Denami Design.
My hubs is spoiling me today.  I'm off to get my hair colored, my nails done and enjoy an hour long pedicure=)
Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Celebration of Thanks...

I'm still in Idaho, so I'm still working with very few supplies.  I'm so looking forward to getting home and having all my stuff at my finger tips!
I made this for my daughter's friend Beki.  She watched the grandboys so I could take my daughter out for her 21st Birthday and be her DD.  I'm so thankful she was willing to babysit on a weeknight, thanks again Beki!  I'm also lucky to have a daughter that would want their mom to spend their 21st with them.  It meant a lot to me to be able to be there for her night of celebrations.  We had a nice evening out=)
For my card I used Winobella from Stamping Bella.  I colored her in with my Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  You can't really tell in the photo but I added Smooch to the bottom of her dress and headband=)  The ribbon and button is from Denami Design.  The sketch is SC302.
I tried a lil' something new with my photographing after reading Sparkle's Blog.  I plan to work on it a bit more when I get home, her pictures are always awesome!  I also wanted to say a BIG thank-you to my hubs.  Since I've been gone he's been editing my pics, adding my watermark and sending them back to me since I'm on my netbook.  I appreciate the time he's taken to do that for me so I can keep up on my posts=)
Have a great week everyone.  We'll be having a busy one!

Marc's Moose...

I just love this moose!  I was on the hunt for a moose stamp at the stamp expo last month.  I hunted at every booth while on my breaks from helping Denami Design and ended up finding this cute little guy at the booth right next to us, ha!  For the life of me, I can't remember the name of the company tho, sorry!  This card is for my hubs friend Marc.  He's deployed at the moment and has been kind enough to allow my daughter, grandsons, and I the use of his home while he's away.  I can't thank him enough for opening his home to us.  What a wonderful guy, huh!?!?!?
Anyhow, I stamped him with Momento Ink on Neenah Cardstock, colored him in with my Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  I used Cosmo Cricket and Graphic 45 DSP and of course the button is from Denami Design=)  This is the first time I've used a sketch from The Cat's Pajamas.  I saw it on Jen Del Muro's Blog...I just love her work!
I'm looking so forward to heading home...7 1/2 weeks down, 13 more days!  I hope all of you are having a great week!

My Baby's 21...

Happy 21st Birthday to my daughter, Mikaela.  I can't believe she's 21 already!  Where has the time gone!!!  It feels like yesterday that she was just a little baby herself and now she has 2 of her own.  Wylie looks just like her when she was a baby and Connor, well...he actually hasn't arrived yet (doing another prepost).  But, I'm sure he'll be just as cute as ever just like his momma.  I'm looking forward to my daughter moving down here with us.  I've missed her so much.  I've missed hanging out with her and watching movies, going to the mall and shopping with her, her fashion tips, opinions, and style, grabbing coffee with her, going to lunch, I've missed hearing her laugh and seeing her beautiful smile...now I'll get to see it everyday!  Happy Birthday Mikaela!  I love you sugar.
Now let's talk about the card I made for her=)  A couple years ago she had a thing for martini glasses, she even wanted to name our next dog martini.  Well, my hubs aunt said "the dog doesn't look like a martini, but she looks like a Kahlua."...and that's how hub's dog was named.  Then the 3rd one came along...we thought for sure this one was going to be "Martini", well, she decided to stick with the "theme" and picked Corona.  So, I knew for her 21st birthday I wanted to make her a card with a martini glass.  I thought this Sprintini image from Stamping Bella would be perfect.  I colored it in with my copic markers on neenah white paper.  I put crystal lacquer over the liquid part and colored the glass in with smooch.  Have I mentioned how much I love that stuff???  I put stickles on top of my colored flowers and added the basic gray stickers to my image panel.  Inside I stamped, "Make Mine a Double" =)
Enjoy your 21st Mikaela! Happy Birthday...

3 of My Favorite Things...

For an extra special World Card Making Day Denami Design wanted to give a few lucky people the chance to have their cards featured in their InTouch Newsletter.  Since I needed to make a thank-you card for my in-laws, I thought I'd give it a go=)
I have very few supplies with me (I'm still out of town- 5 weeks down, just over 4 more to go).  I picked up these cute Puppies and Doghouse from  Denami Design at the stamp expo a couple weeks back.  Aren't they just adrable?  I had to get some more BG Max & Whiskers Paper, even tho I have some at home...you can never have too much BG Paper!  I colored the dogs to look like our 3 Chihuahua's, Chi Chi, Kahlua, and Corona.  I miss them (and the hubs) so much!  I cut out the Doghouse and poped it up by using rolled up pieces of adhesive from my ATG (thanks Nami for the tip!).  For my sketch I used SFYTT for this week.

Anyhow, I just have to say my inlaws have been awesome with this move and we appreciate it so much.  They kept our Chihuahua's for a couple weeks so my hubs could come up to ID to pack up our daughter's apartment and move her stuff to AZ.  They were also kind enough to help us out with gas money, not to mention lend us their truck and trailer.  I really don't know what we would've done without them.  We are so thankful and so very grateful for all that they've done!!!
I hope everyone had the chance to stamp this weekend.

Aloha Chickie...

I actually made the time to stamp inbetween taking care of my grandbabies=)  This card is for the Denami Design Sketch Challenge #4.  I'm actually impressed with the way this card turned out considering all I brought with me to Idaho is white cardstock, black ink, a couple punches, my prismacolor pencils and a couple of embellishments.  Everything else I used on this card I earned while helping Denami Design at the Stamp expo last weekend.  I guess I got lucky that I picked just the right coordinating stamps, ribbon, buttons etc, to be able to make a card worthy enough to enter in a challenge!
Have a wonderful Thursday evening.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Denami Design's~ Aloha, Med. Palm Tree, Tiki Hut, Surfer Chickie, Hula Chickie
Accessories:  Black Paper, Stickles, Flowersoft. Denami Design's Lime Ribbon & Tutti Fruitti Buttons.

Denami Design in Boise...

I hope this finds everyone doing well.  My internet access is limited while I'm in Idaho...and my stamping...well,  I'm having serious stamping withdrawals, lol.  I took a "me" day up to Boise to browse the local stamp and scrapbooking stores.  While I was in one of the stores I noticed a flyer for a stamp expo that was coming to town.  I asked  the store owner about it and she told me Denami Design will be there.  I was immediately excited about the expo!  I helped Nami and Gary at a stamp expo where I live.  I enjoyed it (and them) so much that I knew I wanted to help out if time permitted on my end and if Nami and Gary needed the help.  I was happy to hear they hadn't filled their show help yet=)  I worked all day both days and as always, I had such a good time.  The ladies just loved watching Nami do her demo's, she's so creative.  Paulina (Nami and Gary's daughter) made these beautiful poster boards (sorry, I just realized I didn't take pictures of them =( but they are in the distant back ground surrounding my head, lol).  The ladies LOVED the poster boards and how she had each section color coordinated.  They were complimented over and over again.  Paulina really did such a fabulous job and it showed!   Nami sold me on the ATG Gun!  That thing is AMAZING!!!  I've seen it before but I've never "seen" it be put to work...she gave me a full on demo of it and WOW!!!  I won't be buying glue dots, pop dots, ribbon glue, or double sided sticky tape anymore, thanks Nami!  I was able to get all the stamps that I was kicking myself for not getting at the last show and I picked up a few others that I fell in love with at this show.  Thank-you Nami and Gary for having me at the show, I can't wait until you're in my area again!
Thank-you for stopping by, have a great week!

Connor Michael

They say a mother's instinct is always right.  Well, mine sure was!  I planned on leaving for Idaho on Monday the 30th.  On the Friday prior I kept having a nagging feeling that I needed to leave sooner.  When I started to pack on Saturday (for 2 months) I just kept having this feeling of needing to leave sooner.  So, I called my BFF to ask if it was ok if I came a day earlier to stay with her on my way to Idaho.  She said, "sure" and asked did that mean I would be able to stay with her that extra day since I was leaving a day earlier.  I told her "no".  She asked, "how come".  I said, "Connor's talking to me, he's telling me I need to get there."  So, I left on Sunday the 29th instead of Monday the 30th.
I arrived about 8:30 pm on the 30th.  Greeted my daughter, grandson Wylie and daughter's friends who were outside waiting as I pulled up.  I was really tired after the 11 hour drive and no sleep (ok 3 hours) the night before due to staying up late with my BFF and the excitement of seeing my daughter and grandson.  We didn't visit with her friends but just a minute.  I grabbed my suitcase from the trunk and brought it inside, it had clothes for Wylie and Connor that I wanted to show Mikaela.  We sat down and unzipped the suitcase.  Wylie was having fun flinging his clothes around=)  After I finished showing my daughter Connor's stuff, she says, "um".  I said, "what?". I get another "um..."  Again I say, "what?"...then..."oh my god, did your water just break?!?!?!"  Sure enough it did!  I was there a whole 5-10 minutes.  Absolutely crazy!
So, we get MY bag packed, lol...get Wylie off to a sisters and her BFF Jessi follows us to base.  We signed her in at 10:15pm.  She immediately asked for an epidural since they waited so long to give her one with Wylie.  They have procedures they have to follow, like taking blood and making sure you clot prior to calling the dr and anesthesiologist???  Hmmm, well, those results take about 45 mins to an hour.  When they came in again I mentioned that maybe things we're going a little fast, she's had 3 contractions in 5 mins?  Yah, they kinda just gave us the oh it's ok, all is good response.  Then my daughter asked to be checked again and when the nurse checked her she says, "oh my gosh, you are changing, um, yah, ok...um...we need to get things rolling here."  Mikaela went from 3cm to 5cm in 40 minutes.
Eventually the dr. arrived, he gave her some meds to take the edge off.  The anesthesiologist arrived not so long after for her epidural.  He got her all taped up and we were to switch rooms.  I picked up my bag and took it to the next room where she'd give birth.  When I came out, Jessi was coming in and said, "he's coming, he's coming now"...   "what, are you kidding me?!?!?"  Nope...  Next thing I know the two nurses and dr were in the room frantically trying to get the bed taken apart for delivery, Mikaela had started pushing before the dr was masked and had his gloves on...two other nurses came in the room to tend to baby once he arrived.  Mikaela pushed once more and Connor Michael arrived...at 1am on 8/31 weighing 6lbs 3oz 19in long.  Mikaela went from 5cm to delivery in another 40 minutes.  He was born 4.5 hours after I pulled up to her apartment.  I just knew he was going to arrive early but had no idea how thankful I was going to be for leaving a day early and relying on that mother's instinct!
Mikaela and Connor are both doing great.  Wylie is adjusting well to being a big brother.  I can't wait for my hubs to come up here and meet his newest grandson!
I hope everyone has a wonderful week and enjoyed their Labor Day Weekend!

Happy Anniversary Hunny!

I hope this worked! My hubs reads my blog so I had to preschedule this post, or try to, lol. I'm planning on leaving for Idaho on 8/30 so I can be in the delivery room with my daughter.  I'm bummed that I won't be home with my hubs to spend our anniversary together, but it is for a very special occassion I wouldn't want to miss for the world!  Besides, we're used to being apart, we're a military couple, ha!  So, Happy 17th Anniversary from Idaho Hunny! I {heart} you! It honestly feels like yesterday that we got married and now here we are about to (if we haven't already) have our 2nd grandson! Thank-you so much for all that you have done for me and our family, especially these last couple of years. I couldn't have gotten through it without such a supportive and understanding husband. Which leads me to saying...thank-you so much for working so hard on my watermark, it means the world to me. I hope it will raise awareness for others with my condition and help spread the word about Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I appreciate your understanding and support more than you know. I love you and miss you already. This card is waiting for you in my craft cave, top drawer of my orange storage bin=) Ok, mushy stuff out of the way, lol...now onto the cards details...
Bellarific Friday's Challenge is anything animal. I used Taco Ketto.  We have 3 Chihuahua's (Chi Chi, Kahlua & Corona). I tried my best to color her like "hub's chihuahua", Kahlua...she is a chocolate brown color just like the liqueur. I colored her in with my prismacolor pencils on Bella's Bestest Paper. I kept the embellishing simple since it's suppose to be a "manly" card, but I did manage to get in some smooch on her ears and stickles on her crown=) I hope you all have a fun and safe Labor Day Weekend! I'm looking forward to the Fall and cooler temperatures where I live!

Caught a Bug

For Bellarific Friday's Challenge at Stamping Bella.  It was an anything goes week.  I used one of my favorite sketches from Paper Crafts.  It was my very first entry for a submission for publication so I thought I'd use it for my first time "trying out" for a DT.  I also used Fluey Huggabugg then as well.  No such luck with the publication, fingers crossed for the DT.  The ladies that have played along this month have done some amazing work.  They are all so talented.  Whoever the Bellababes pick will be a wonderful addition to the team.
I colored Fluey Huggabugg in with my prismacolor pencils on neenah white cardstock.  I used smooch on his clothing, crystal lacquer on his water bottle and sugar coating on his wings.  I made the flowers, sigh.  The bottom layers are prima flowers and the top layers I punched with the Fiskars 1 inch Poppy Punch.  At first I made little roses but didn't like the look so I flattened them out and added more layers...much better!
I have to give a big shout out to my hubs!!! He Rocks!  I mentioned to him that I wanted to get a watermark for my photos, he says pssht, I can make you one. So yay! I have a watermark now=) Thank-you hunny!
Thanks for stopping by.  I hope ya'll have a great weekend.  Hubs and I are going to go to our car meet tonight.  Then I'll be packing and doing laundry all weekend, yay!

A Field of Thanks...

The Greeting Farm is sponsoring this weeks SFYTT.  I flipped the sketch to the left.  I colored Quarterback Ian in with my prismacolor pencils on Bella's Bestest Paper.
This is for a couple in our car club.  (I also {heart} VW's!)   They are Steelers fans so I thought this image was perfect for them.  Anyhow, they gave my daughter a stroller combo that has two carseat bases, one for each car...where were these cool ideas when I had kids!?!?  We appreciate their kindness so much!  So, I'll be bringing it up to ID with me next week...and I'm so happy to say when I come home my daughter and grandsons will be as well...she's decided to move down here!!!  Have a great day everyone!

My entry for Denami Design theme challenge which is Birthday.  This is for my hubs grandmother, her birthday is the 19th.  If my grandson hasn't arrived by his due date of the 13th, I hope he'll hold out until Nana's birthday:)  We just love her to pieces.
I colored this cute penguin from DD with my prismacolor pencils and OMS on Bella's Bestest Paper.  I paper pieced the balloon, added some Smooch and Crystal Lacquer to it.  I used SSSC82 for my sketch.
Have a fabulous day everyone!  I'll be tucked away in my cave all day:)

Miss You, See You Soon...

This card is already in the mail and on it's way to Idaho to my precious lil' grandson, Wylie.  I miss him so much and am so excited to see him.  My daughter is 37 weeks along today, so I'll be making my way up for Connor's birth soon.  I can't believe she only has 3 weeks left!
This is my entry for Bellarific Friday's Challenge over at Stamping Bella.  Paulabella had a sketch for us to do.  I used Arivedercibella and the sentiment from Billboardabella.  Colored her in with my Copics.  Did a little paper piecing for her luggage and out of the box with her scarf, I'm loving that technique!
I hope you all have a happy Monday...hubs and I are going to watch The Bounty Hunter as soon as I'm done posting.

A Girl's Gotta Have Fun...

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is this weeks sponsor for  Card Positioning Systems.  Her lil' smirk and the fun she's having with her voodoo doll is priceless!
I kept the card pretty simple.  I stamped her on Neenah cardstock, colored her in with my copics.  No glitter, sparklies, or shiny stuff...gasp!  Denami Design ribbon, love their ribbon!
This is for my daughter, I hope she gets a good laugh when she gets it.  Have a great day!

Bling it on

Today is Friday the 13th, anyone superstitious?  Not me.  I love Friday the 13th, it reminds me of the day my daughter was born=)  The number 13 runs in my family.  Our lil' grandson Connor is due September 13th...our fingers are crossed he arrives on his due date!
This is my entry for Bellarific Friday Challenge which was Bling it on...how's that for using bling on a card!?!?!?  I've had Martha Lulu from Stamping Bella forever and this was the first time she's seen ink!  I colored her with my Copics then sprinkled Glamour Dust on her dress and wings.  I used Smooch on the flower in her hair and the little dots in her wings but it didn't show up too well, ah well.
Have a fabulous weekend and don't let Friday the 13th keep you inside tonight!  Hubs and I are going out to dinner then off to our Friday night VW meet...

Lucy's Green at Heart

So, I'm trying to figure this blogging thing out, I have so much to learn!  For those that know me, know I am not good with computers...this is my 3rd attempt at making this post, let's hope it didn't post 3 times!
Anyhow, I made this card for a friend of mine who could use some cheering up.  The last few months have been a bit trying for her.  She's been amazingly strong through all that she's been through and I pray that she continues to be the tough gal that she is!
I inked up Lucy Ketto with Momento ink, colored her in with my Prismacolor pencils and OMS on Neenah cardstock.  I added Glamour Dust to her wings and skirt.  Marvy 6 petal flower punch (the blue one, it's a little big, lol) to make the flower.  Designer paper is Basic Grey's Green at Heart.  Sentiment by Stamping Bella.  Sketch is Card Patterns Sketches 75.

Glitter Crumbs

A thank-you card for my neighbor.  She brought me over orange Gerber Daisies and an orange shirt for my birthday.  They are the sweetest neighbors on our street!
I made this for Denami Designs Product Challenge #3 which is Glitter.  I stamped the background panel in chocolate chip then filled it in with Crystal Lacquer and sprinkled the image with glitter.  Denami Designs sells Crystal Lacquer with a fine tip that fits onto the bottle so you can basically write with the stuff...I love it!  For the main image I stamped it in chocolate chip, used my glue pen to go over it, then sprinkled the glitter on top.  I used Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla Cardstock and Denami Designs Chocolate Shimmer Paper.  Ribbon is by Stampin' Up.
The sketch is this weeks Sketch For You To Try.
Have a great Wednesday night, I'm looking forward to So You Think You Can Dance Tonight!  My vote is for Lauren=)

Happy Birthday to Me...

Welcome to my blog and my first post!  Today is my birthday and this is what I wanted for my birthday, a blog.  My hubs named it for me and helped me set it up since I am not so good with computers, ha!  I hope he's patient with me and that I'm quick to learn this stuff.
Anyhow, on to the whole reason for my blog...stamping and card making.
I made this card for the Bellarific Friday Challenge which was to do paper piecing on your card.  I stamped Cuppacakeabella and the sentiment on Neenah paper with Momento ink and colored her in with my Copics.  Liquid applique and glamour dust for the frosting, topped with a stickles cherry and crystal lacquer.  I used MOJO 149 for my layout.
Hope ya'll enjoyed your Sunday.  Hubs took me out for breakfast this morning and a day of shopping for my birthday.
