Rarest of Thank You's...

For my long time friend, Renee...  I have a rare genetic connective tissue disorder.  The mascot for my condition is the Zebra.  The last day of February of every year is World Rare Disease Day, to bring awareness to rare conditions.  She made me the most beautiful hand (and I mean literally, with her hands) crocheted black and white blanket in honor of World Rare Disease Day.  When I opened it, I cried...it was such an incredibly kind and thoughtful gift.  I will cherish it for years to come!  Thank you Renee!!!
Rarest of Thank You's...
On trend with my other posts from today, this too was made using the current at the time MFTWSC689.  I used a black and white theme since Zebra's are black and white.  My Favorite Things Rose with Overlay, Layered Leaves, and Essential Stitched Sentiment die-namics.  Big Greetings for the sentiment, white craft ink, then embossed with with embossing powder.  Stampin' Up Sizzix folder.

Rarest of Thank You's...
This was a total surprise!!!

The blanket is just beautiful!

Thank you for taking a peek at my blog.

Happy Birthday Leanda...

For a sweet lady for her birthday!  Leanda has been doing lots of great things for our cycling community over the last 6 months or so.  She's been leading interval workouts, zone 2 rides (well, not my zone 2...lol!), workshops, and just recently started up a Women's Only Shoot Out.  She's all inclusive, makes everyone feel welcome to join in and encourages you to keep coming, even if your zone 2 isn't her zone too, ha!
Happy Birthday Leanda...

I kept this one CAS.  It was for the current (at the time) MFTWSC686.  My card base is Crumb Cake.  I used the following- MFT Open Road, Cute Cloud Outlines, and Itty Bitty Strips die-namics.  A bike die, topping it with a gel pen.  I added glitter to the clouds.

Thanks for having a peek!

Happy Birthday Mike!!!

For my son in law for his birthday.  Every year I ask him what he wants for his birthday and every year he tells me all he wants is one of my awesome hand made cards...so sweet!
Happy Birthday Mike!!!
This was for my entry to the MFTWSC685 (yes, I'm a wee bit behind at uploading to my blog) challenge.  I started out  blending Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers and Broken China inks on an oval die cut, mounting it on a Crumb Cake MFT Stitched Jumbo Fishtail die-namic.  I colored a MFT Grounded Elements die-namics and added it to my oval piece.  I used My Favorite Things Bear Hug Bunch and the coordinating dies, colored with copics. Then mounted the panel to a white layer ran through the die cut machine using MFT A2 Stitched Rectangular Stax.  I stamped  MFT Festive Old Friends (sentiment) on a MFT Essential Stitched Sentiment die-namics.  Then layered it onto a Wile Wasabi Card Base.

Happy Valentine's Day to Mrs. Todaro's Class...

A friend of mine messaged me and asked if I could send a Valentine's Day Card to her friend's class.  They are doing a geography class project to see if they could receive a Valentine from every state and also see if they would get any Valetine's Day cards from other parts of the world.  Here's the card that I made and sent them.
Happy Valentine's Day to Mrs. Todaro's Class...
I played along in the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge, MFTWSC681.  I used Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, and My Mind's Eye paper.  MFT Love to My Gnomies stamp set, colored with copics.  Giant Love, Hearts a Plenty, and Layered Heart Border die-namics.  Finished off the card with white splatters.

Colored States are Valentine's received from Mrs. Todaro's Class so far.

 Thanks for having a look!

For two of my friends that needed some cheering up.  Wishing both of them a speedy recovery and hope that they are back on their bikes soon!!!

Happy Birthday Delia...

For my dear sweet friend and cycling buddy, Delia for her birthday.  One of the best parts of cycling is having coffee afterwards with great friends.  Just love our post ride coffee chats!

Happy Birthday Delia...

My entry for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge, MFTWSC679.  I started out with a Very Vanilla card base.  I used My Favorite Things Mini Mugs die-namics with Mind's Eye Stella and Rose paper.  I also used the Stella and Rose for one of the layers.  I used White, Pretty Peacock, and Melon Mamba to finish off the Coffee Cup and mounted it on a Black circle.  I stamped my sentiment from My Favorite Things Coffee Order, then die cut it with the My Favorite Things Fishtail Foundations die-namics.

Happy Birthday Carol...

Happy New Year!  Well, it's my first post for the New Year.  I hope everyone had a fabulous New Year!  This is for my Mother in Law for her birthday.
Happy Birthday to my Mother in Law...

While I was making this card I thought I was participating in the current My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #678.  Turns out I was looking at the wrong week and when I went to upload it, I saw that the link was closed, haha...ooops!  Ah well, it was still needed and still fun to make.  I'm not the greatest at water coloring and thought I'd give it some practice.  I started out with water color paper, using Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce, Pacific Point, and Gorgeous Grape inks.  I stamped the butterflies from the My Favorite Things Spread Your Wings stamp set, water colored them, put paper glaze on top of them, and mounted them on pop dots.  I ran a piece of Gorgeous Grape through the die cue machine, mounted it on top of my water color panel, then mounted it on a black card base.  Next I used a cotton ball to apply pearl ex to the Gorgeous Grape panel to give it some shimmer.  I stamped my sentiment and die cut it using the MFT Essential Stitched die-namics and mounted it on pop dots.

Yappy Birthday...

Happy New Year!  One of my crafting goals for 2022 was to work on my picture taking skills.  When I upload my photos, they are decent here, but then they are either huge or blurry on Instagram and FB.  Another goal was to upload/blog my cards in a timely manner, not weeks and months later all at once.  My last goal was to make and send more RAK's.  What if any are your card making goals for 2022?

Yappy Birthday...
This is for my mother in law.  She's done rescue for Poodles for many years.  This cute little poodle reminds me of one of the recues that she kept, Shelly.  I used last weeks MFTWSC574.  I started out by making my background scene with the Small Brick Wall Stencil and Versamagic Chalk Inks.  I stamped my image from the Canine Companions on Neenah with Memento, coloring with Copics, then die cutting with coordinating die-namics.  Then I stamped my sentiment.  Basic Grey paper and Crumb Cake card base.

Sending birthday wishes to a sweet lady I met through My Favorite Things.
Birthday Wishes...

I used this week's sketch, MFTWSC573 from My Favorite Things. Freshly Picked for You...

For my "mom" (my besties mom, who has taken me in as her own) for her birthday.  I wish I could be with her for her birthday and give her a big (((HUG))).  It has been an incredibly difficult year for her.  I hope this will brighten her day, if even for a moment.

Freshly Picked for You...
I started out with a die cut panel from the Wonky Stitch die-namics.  Next I stamped my image from the My Favorite Things Freshly Picked Bouquet stamp set in memento ink on neenah card stock, then die cut it, and colored it with copics.  Next I took two strips of card stock and run them through my xyron and sprinkled Stampin' Up chunky glitter on them.  I then stamped the happy birthday sentiment from the Banner Day Sentiments stamp set and die cut it with the Banner Day Flags die-namics.  I mounted my panel on an Only Orange card base.  This is my entry for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge  MFTWSC549  I took coloring inspiration from Erika Hayes card.  I used a different coloring medium than she did so I ended up with different results.

For Tammy...

I made a post about a card I made 9 years ago and had just sent to my friend Martha who was having her last chemo treatment.  My friend Joanie reached out to me and asked if I could make the same card for her late husband's step daughter, Tammy.  I dug around in my paper stash and still had all the supplies to make the card just as she requested.

For Tammy...

I used MFTWSC63. for my sketch.  I started off stamping Pure Innocence Have Hope in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I used Prismacolor Pencils and OMS for some shading on her leggings and the ground.  I used a Glaze Pen on her hair clip, heart, and shoes.  Lucky Limeade, Rose Red, Blush Blossoms, and EP This & That Grateful papers.  I used Die-Namics Open Scallop Edge, ran it through my Xron Sticker Maker, then sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  Lucky Limeade Ribbon, SU Photo Corner Punch, SU White Baker's Twine, Denami Design Buttons, and Foam Squares.

Caticorn Kind of Friend...

For my long time friend, Jackie.  Jackie is such a kind and caring person.  I don't think I've ever seen her angry or mad with anyone.  She always has a smile on her face and you always leave happier after being in her company.  We've known each other for over 20 years and have been stationed at 3 military bases together.  We haven't seen each other since our last base together in 2003.  I miss our time when we would make cards and scrapbooking the whole day away...you can do that when your husbands work together, you're overseas, don't work, and you're neighbors! (we lived in the same flat house with one floor between us, bonus!).  I wanted to send Jackie a RAK and let her know I was thinking of her.

Caticorn Kind of Friend...
It's been a while since I've played along in a My Favorite Things Challenge so I thought I'd give my hand at it.  This one is a double challenge.  The current Color Challenge #163 and the current Sketch Challenge MFTWSC535.  I started out by stamping my image from the MFT Caticorn set in Memento Ink on Neenah card stock and coloring it with Copics.  I used the coordinating Die-namics to die cut it.  I layered the Caticorn with pop dots on white then on Pink Pirouette card stock that was die cut using the A2 Stitched Rectangle Stax Die-namics.  Next I stamped splotches in Pink Pirouette using the MFT Distressed Patterns Set.  Thin strips of Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo and White card stock.  Then I added a layer of Basic Gray that was die cut using the Fishtail Foundations Die-namics.  I stamped my sentiment on it from the MFT What Friendship Means set in Versamark Ink and embossing with white embossing powder.  I put my layer on a Basic Gray card base and finished off my card with Stamping Bella Baubles.

In My Heart...

For my friend Julie who lost her son.  I can't even begin to imagine the pain she has suffered these last two years.  There are no words that can ever take away her pain or make her feel better.  My heart aches for her.  I wanted her to know that she is in my heart as the anniversary of his passing approaches.

My Favorite Things is celebrating their 500th Sketch Challenge and I wanted to play along.  I used the Heart Die-namic with Echo Park Country Drive Paper.  Elegant Eggplant and white card stock,  stamped with a sentiment from the Pure Innocence All My Heart set.  I stamped the girl from the PI Have Hope set coloring her with copics and mounting her on pop dots for dimension.  A glaze pen on the heart, shoes, and clip in her hair.

Thank you for stopping by.
Have a great week.

Hello Pockets...

Continuing to work on RAK'ing my friends with cards.  This one is for a fun lady, friend, and former teammate of mine, Holly.  I was an assistant for a Tri Coach and one of my duties was to Sherpa for the team during their races.  Holly was racing in the first out of town race that I sherpa'd (is that a word? lol) for.  We had such a blast that trip!  She is an amazing athlete, gives it her all and is just fun to be around.
I used this week's MFTWSC498.  I'm so proud of myself for creating a card on sketch day and also uploading it on sketch day!  Usually I'm a bit slow at blogging/uploading.  Anyhow, I used MFT Let's Stick Together set and the sentiment from the PI Freckles set.  Sahara Sand and Wheat Varsamagic chalk ink on the bricks, circle frame I made using two circles, scallop die-namic, and some rhinestones.

Missing You...

I've been in self quarantine and self isolation since we returned from our cruise with our best friends in March.  Every Sunday I go down to my best friends house (they live 45 minutes away) to spend the day with them and usually stay for dinner.  The hardest part for me with staying in self isolation is not getting that time with them.  So, I made Kellye a card to let her know I miss her.
I used this week's MFTWSC490.  I haven't played in a My Favorite Things Challenge in a very long time.  I turned the orientation of the sketch.  My bestie loves owls so I used MFT For Owl You Do and coordinating die-namic, stamped on neenah with memento ink, colored with copics.  MFT I'm Owl Yours sentiment, MFT Rainbow Die-namic, and MFT Blueprints 1.  Real Red, Melon Mambo, Only Orange, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point, and Gorgeous Grape card stock.
Me and Kellye our first morning of the cruise.  It was FREEZING cold...but we didn't care!  We got bundled up in our robes, blankets, and enjoyed our drinks poolside.

X's and O's Take 2...

I made these for a few really great people I see at the allergy clinic I go to twice a week =)
I used the same design as I did for the other Valentine's Day Cards I made except I eliminated the stamping as the stamp I was using wasn't stamping really well and took a lot of time.  Anyhow, I used MFTWSC317 for my layout.  Melon Mambo, Very Vanilla, Real Red and Echo Park Love Story.  MFT Die-namics Hearts a PlentyMFT Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX and MFT Die-namics Lots of Love

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Wish I May, Wish I Might...

A quick card I made for my oldest grandson for his birthday, which was Friday.  All he wanted for his birthday was a drink cup that has a snack cup built into it (one of his friends has one and he thinks it's the coolest thing ever) that was it!  After I sent his box and was facetiming with him on his birthday he said he'd like a green power ranger for his birthday for his brother so they can have battles.  I said "Wylie, so...you want a toy for your brother for YOUR birthday, is that what you're telling me?"  He says, "yes please, just put his name, Connor on the package, ok?"  I thought it was the sweetest thing ever!

Anyhow, for my sketch I used this weeks My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge MFTWSC319.  I stamped the boy from MFT Dog Gone-Cute in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring him with Copics then fussy cutting him out and mounting him on foam dots.  The sentiment is from MFT Little Loveosaurus.  Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie and Bo Bunny Blast Off paper and a corner punch to make the tag.
Thank you so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!
