LucKey...

LucKey...I'm lucky to to be a Key Spouse and get to do the things that I do.  I'm thankful and grateful for the people I have met along the way, the opportunities that have been given to me, and for some of the challenges I have had to overcome too.  It's not always easy, but it is rewarding and I have made some lifelong friendship from being a Key Spouse.  The Key Spouses were given a luncheon in our honor to thank us for what we do. I made thank you cards for having the luncheon they had for us =)

LucKey...
I stamped ALM Key to my Heart in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring her with Copics.  I colored in the key with a glaze pen.  Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy, and My Mind's Eye American Made Paper.  SU Square Punch and Sentiment from SU Noteworthy Set.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great week!
I'm starting mine off with meeting my friends new baby girl, I'm so excited!

Kellye Kokopelli...

So, my BFF told me she wanted one thing for her birthday...a box.  I was like, "uh...a box???".  She told me she wanted a box to keep all the cards that I've made for her in. When I asked her what kind of box, she told me she didn't care, as long as it came from me that's all that mattered.  Jokingly I told her I was going to give her a cardboard box then, ha!  I was still on crutches at the time and unable to drive so shopping for this "box" was rather difficult.  I hunted pinterest, I hunted SCS...I couldn't find any ideas on how to make, design, or decorate this box...my hunt for this box was nearing impossible! Eventually I shared my frustration with her hubs and he suggested googling it (imagine that!).  Low and behold guess what came up???  Yes...all sorts of boxes.  I found the perfect box for their southwest decorated home...

Kellye Kokopelli...
This box also became my card inspiration =)

Kellye Kokopelli...
I found an image off of google (imagine that!), printed it and used the direct to paper ink technique in Cherry Cobbler, Real Red, Pumpin Pie, Crushed Curry, and More Mustard. The image started to smear (even after setting for a day and a half) so I left it white around the edges.  Crumb Cake, Black, Crushed Curry, and Real Red Card Stock, Die-namics Chevron Stripes, and a CB Folder.

When her box arrived, it came wrapped in this plastic wrap and was placed inside of this white box.  When I told our hubs that it came inside of this cardboard box, they told me I should decorate it and pretend that is her birthday gift...so...I did =)

Kellye Kokopelli...
I had some orange paint on hand so I got to work.  I gave the box two coats.  While it was drying, I printed another google image Kokopelli (giggle).  I fussy cut the Kokopelli out and gave it a nice thick coating of Modge Podge then sprinkled it with black glitter.  Die-namics High-Rise Alphabet in Cherry Cobbler, mounted on Crumb Cake cardstock, then on Black cardstock.

She opened it up and loved it.  I then gave her her real present that was in the cardboard box it was shipped in with a card that was just stamped with oops!  I wrote inside something like, "this is your real box, I hope you like it".  She thought it was the joke and that I was giving her her "cardboard box" I said I was going to give her and said, "I don't get it".  Lol...her hubs had to tell her, "no, you don't get it, keep opening the box".  She finally got to her real gift and loved it =)  She said she was keeping the other box too (which both our hubs said..."you know she's going to love the box that you made, right?...nice guys, huh?) =)

Kellye Kokopelli...
Who would've thought finding a box to put cards in would've been so difficult?  And of course after I got her box in the mail and I was able to walk/drive again...I found them all over the place!  I'd take pictures of them and send them to my hubs and he'd always reply with, "I still like your other two boxes better"...such a sweet guy!

Hope you have a great week!
Thanks for stopping by!

Shooting Stars...

For one of my hubs bosses who recently moved to North Carolina and got a job teaching at Duke University.  I will miss this particular boss as he's always been one of those people who always takes the time to sit and chat with me when I come to the office.  Just one of those people that you will always remember as they have touched your life in such a positive way.  I made him this card to thank him for all he's done for me and my hubs and wish him well on his new journey.

I want to say I got my inspiration for this card on pinterest but I don't have it pinned to give credit to that person (I'm sorry!).  I'm one of those people who always gives a person credit if I've CASE'd their card and I feel terrible knowing I made this card and can't give credit to the person my inspiration came from...=(  Anyhow...I stamped SU's Musical Score in black ink on Crumb Cake.  I used Die-namics Star Stax partically off the Brilliant Blue Cardstock, then used a smaller Die-namics Star Stax  in Real Red to put in the middle of the Brilliant Blue cut out.  Sentiment from SU's Godspeed Set.  SU Square Punch used to make the tag.

Thank you for stopping by!
Hope you have a great rest of your weekend!

Ninja Disk...

Well, I guess that's what the stamp looks like...ha!  I made these for the gals in our spouse's who celebrated their birthday in November.

Ninja Disk...
My inspiration for my card came from this card I saw on pinterest.  I stamped SU's Medallion and Michael's $1 bin Sentiment in Purely Pomegranate on white cardstock. Finished it off with the last of the lush Purely Pomegranate ribbon I had and some rhinestones.

Hot Hula...

I completely forgot to post this one while I was catching up on my 2013 card posts.  I made this for my Hot Hula Instructor.  Have any of yall taken a Hot Hula class before??? Omg, it's SO much fun and is quite the work out!!!

Hot Hula...
I stamped PI Hula Girl in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring her in Copics then fussy cutting her out and mounting her on a Nestabilites in Crumb Cake.  Die-namics Hibiscus, with Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive cardstock, SU Square Punch, Button, Linen Thread.  The layout is MFTWSC134.

Thank-you for stopping by!

Warm Arizona Winters...

I made all the spouse's who came to the spouse's meeting at my house one of these ornaments.  I got the idea from Pinterest.  It took me a while to read through and decide which way I was going to try and make them.  But here was my inspiration...  I of course put my own twist/finishing touches to it.

Warm Arizona Winters...
I cleaned the ornaments with rubbing alcohol first, then set them upside down to dry out. I used mop & glo, twirling it inside, careful to not make bubbles, then used a small funnel to pour the liquid back into the bottle.  I used another funnel to pour glitter into the ornament and swirled it around to coat the ornament.  I had to play with the glitter, the clear/white/iridescent and size was tricky.  It was hard to coat the ornament.  Other colors and sizes coated the inside of the ornament just fine but I was going for this particular look and I was unable to walk/drive at the time I was making these so I was kind of stuck using what I bought and had on hand.  Anyhow, I used my cricut to cut out the Arizona shape on vinyl and stuck it to the outside of the ornament.  *Just a tip...in order to get my state shape to adhere without crinckles and lay flat on the ornament, I used my heat gun and a bone folder (my husbands fabulous idea!).  I finished it off with a big red ribbon =)

Warm Arizona Winters...
I put each ornament in a zebra bag (of course) with red tissue paper.  I clipped the spouse's name tag to the bags.

Warm Arizona Winters...
I made a few extra for a couple of my friends and neighbors.  One of my neighbors like the ornament so much she ended up making some for her friends but couldn't figure out how I did it so she came over to ask me for pointers, lol.  She said she didn't realize I put that much effort into making them, ha!

Pregnant YoYo Girl...

Yah...I had to laugh when my friend gave this card it's title.  Really???  He said the picture on the phone was small and he thought it was a pregnant girl playing with a yoyo.  So, the title/name stuck, ha!  I made a bunch of these cards to invite all the ladies at my hubs work to my house for our holiday spouse's meeting.  Each year we do an ornament exchange, White Elephant Style.  When I host a spouse's meeting, I like to invite all the women at my hubs works and let them know they are always more than welcome to attend and do so by making them each a handmade invitation.

Pregnant YoYo Girl...
I kept the card and design very CAS.  I stamped MFT ALM Sparkling Season in black ink and left her that way to keep my card CAS.  I used Black, Soft Sky, and White Cardstock. Snowflake punch, button, and stickles.

Hope yall had a very Merry Christmas!

Owl I want for Christmas is you...

My sweet friend and fellow spouse, Kat is due with her first baby a couple days after Christmas.  She had a baby shower a couple weeks ago, this is the card I made for her...

Owl I want for Christmas is you...
I used Perfect Plum, Going Gray, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake and White Card stock. Perfect Plum ink.  Sentiment is from Michael's.  I made the balloons with a circle punch and hearts from the SU Owl Punch.

Owl I want for Christmas is you...
My initial inspiration and color combination for my card came from my baby gift for Kat.  I knew I wanted to make something with an Owl in it.  I've had that Owl Punch for a couple years and that was my first time using it!  I went hunting on pinterest for card ideas and found this one created by Susan...and loved it!  I just had to CASE it!

Owl I want for Christmas is you...
We made lil' onesies for baby-Alice-to-be (can you guess which one is mine?).

Sparkly Snowflakes... #KindnessChallenge

I made this to thank the person who lent me their knee scooter while I was recovering from surgery.  For some reason this time around my insurance company didn't cover it, we were fighting with them to cover the cost as I was going in for surgery.  When I came out of surgery my hubs told me that an email went out at his work and someone we didn't know offered to lend me theirs.  I welled up with tears.  I wasn't sure how I was going to get around for 3 months without it.  Inside was a gift certificate to thank him for his kindness =)

Sparkly Snowflakes... #KindnessChallenge
I kept it very simple.  Sentiment is from A Muse.  I got the ornament from Walmart, attaching it with a brad.

Blue Moon...

In October our spouse's group went to a painting class.  We opened up the painting session to our husband's unit (and a few of them joined us!).  I made this card to thank the newbee's for attending our spouse's social.
Blue Moon...
I took inspiration for my card from the painting we did.  We were actually suppose to paint a different one but everyone liked this one so much we decided to do this one instead.  I used Going Grey, Basic Gray, and Black for the sky, Night of Navy, Pacific Point, and Tempting Turquoise for the moon.  I sponged in the cliff with a torn piece of paper.  Pacific Point Paper, sentiment from SU Noteworthy, tree from Denami Design.

Blue Moon...

Fancy Grubbin'...

I made these cards for some pretty amazing people!!!  These went out to all the wonderful people who made my hubs and I meals while I was on bedrest recovering from surgery #2.  I honestly don't know what I would've done without them...  Not too bad for making these in bed, eh?

Fancy Grubbin'...

I used a Very Vanilla card base, crumb cake card stock.  I stamped the silverware from A Muse in crumb cake and the sentiment from SU's Because I Care in Soft Sky.  Ribbon is from Michael's.

Fancy Grubbin'...
Photo taken on my zebra lap desk my hubs got me to eat my dinnah on =)

My sweet hubs decorated the boot I had to wear and also my crutches=)  Following that are a few pictures from my my surgery, so if you're faint at heart, you may not want to look beyond the crutches=)

Before & After

2 weeks post op.

2 weeks post op, stitches removed.

6 weeks post op, healing nicely.

I'm currently 17 weeks post op.  I'm in physical therapy twice a week building up my strength and stability in my ankle.  I have a long way to go until I'm fully recovered (Dr says a year at least) but look forward to the day where I'm not walking with a limp and am able to return to my fitness classes and run again!

Thank you for peeking at my blog today, I appreciate it!
Have a terrific day!

Hot Blue...

I made a couple dozen of these to welcome all of the new spouses to our unit.  I try to make sure to make them a card to welcome them here shortly upon arrival, but sometimes life (like a couple of surgeries) doesn't let that happen as quickly as I'd like. It's the thought that counts tho, right???

Hot Blue...

I kept it very simple.  SU's Brilliant Blue, Whit, Cherry Cobbler and Black card stock.  My Favorite Things Die-namics InstaFrame, Cricut 50 States  Cartridge, Sentiment is from a local craft show.  I want to say Stamp Out who does these awesome Southwest and Western Stamps but couldn't find them when I looked online.  Anyhow, made my tag with SU's Square Punch, finished it off with a button and twine.

Thank you for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day!

Caught in the Moonlight...

Yay...finally...I'm caught up!  This is the last card to catch me up to 2014.  I didn't craft or blog for a year so I only have a handful of cards for 2014, but I'm glad to have finally got all of 2013's cards done, yay!!!  Anyhow, this was made for a friend of mine who ordered some cards from me.

Caught in the Moonlight...
I of course drew inspiration from Michelle Zindorf, the queen of brayering!  I used Night of Navy, Marina Mist, Tempting Turquoise and Black ink.  SU's Nature Silhouette stamp set, Black and Marina Mist card stock, and brads.

Have a wonderful day!

Pot Stickers...

I love this stamp!  I got it from a local artist where I live.  I took a couple of his Prismacolor Pencil Classes for coloring faces.  It was a lot different than I had expected, but enjoyed it and had a really great time.  Anyhow, I made these for a couple of the spouses who were new to our spouses group.  I like to make them a card to welcome them to our spouses group for their first meeting.

Pot Stickers...

I stamped my image in versamark on black cardstock then used Denami Design Copper Embossing Powder.  Crumb Cake and Tangerine Tango cardstock.  The sentiment is from MFT PI Soldier Boy (retired).  SU square punch for the tag, button and linen cord.

40 SUCKS...

Leading up to my 40th birthday I had a Fitness Challenge where I was putting $$$ into a jar for my workouts.  It was my goal to be fit and fabulous by 40.  I reached my fitness goal, my weight goal and purchased my self something nice for my accomplishment...

Paul Mitchell Bamboo Hair Dryer

 Paul Mitchell Bamboo Flat Iron
(and I had enough to pay for a cut & color and lunch!)

It's a year and four months later and I still love my hair dryer and flat iron =) Unfortunately I'm back to square one with my fitness goals.  I injured myself 3 months before my birthday and have had two surgeries since.  I'm still recovering from surgery number two, but once I've fully recovered I plan to reestablish some fitness goals and get back to it!

I hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday, I am so far!

Clover Drover Crazy...

Just wanted to start off by thanking a friend of mine who's been giving my cards/posts their titles...sure has cut down on how long it takes me to make a blog post and has made me laugh at the same time!  I made this forever ago for a friend of mine that ordered a few cards from me.  Very quick, clean, and simple!

Clover Drover Crazy...

I started off with a Bermuda Bay card base, stamped the image from SU's Apple Blossoms in Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, and Basic Gray on Very Vanilla card stock.  Button, Ribbon, and Twine from Denami Design.

Shroomin' Dude...

Still catching up on some of the cards that I made last year.  My main responsibility as a Key Spouse is to check up on the deployed spouses while their loved one is away.  One of the ways I like to do this is to send them a hand made card to let them know that I'm thinking of them.
Shroomin' Dude...

I stamped the Gnome from Lawn Fawn's Gnome Sweet Gnome Set in Memento Ink and colored him with Copics.  I used the sentiment from the Gnome Sweet Gnome Set as well. SU Corner Punch to make the tag.  My Mind's Eye Gnome Sweet Gnome paper on a SU Crumb Cake cardbase.

Shroomin' Dude...

Inside each card I included a free coupon for a Culver's Mixer and this poem:

Hi, It’s me, your deployment gnome.
I heard your loved one is far from home.
Sometimes I come to break your dryer,
Or put a nail into your tire.
I also cause your hair to gray,
While that guy of yours is away.
But today I’m here to bring a gift,
And maybe give your heart a little lift.
If you should feel a little blue,
I hope you know friends are here for you.
And if you feel a little lost-y,
Go and get yourself a Frosty!

A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU (and embarrassed to say this card is still sitting on my desk) to LAWN FAWN for the very generous donation of the stamp set Gnome Sweet Gnome!!!  I appreciate your kindness so very much!!!

Shroomin' Dude...

Thank you for looking!
Have a wonderful week!
