Baby Layla...

Our friends Colin and Andria had their first baby earlier this month.  Layla's nursery is done in Hot Pink Elephants, thought this card would be perfect=)
I stamped SU's Baby Steps in Melon Mambo.  My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup DSP.  My sketch is this months SFYTT.
Below is my gift to them.  A custom boppy cover with Layla's name embroidered on it.  They got the material at Joann's so I picked myself up some and sent it to my friend Renee to make for me.  She makes the cutest stuff!
Have a great weekend!

Purple Pixie...

For a dear sweet friend of mine...she came to my rescue a couple of weeks ago and sent me her reinker when my retired SU ink pad started to go dry.  I was in the middle of making 40 Baptism Cards for a friend and seriously started to have a panic attack!  My dear sweet friend (Shannon) saved my day and I was able to finish the Baptism Cards with a nice juicy ink pad=)  Shannon loves the color purple.  To thank her for saving me, I sent her a couple of purple handmade goodies that Karen has on consignment at our store=)
I entered my card in this weeks Bellarific Friday Challenge.  The theme was Mother's Day.  This works for me=)  I also used this weeks Card Patterns Sketch 112.  I stamped my Pixie in Momento Ink on Neenah Cardstock, coloring her in with Copics.  I used Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Bermuda Bay and My Mind's Eye new line, Lime Twist.  Nesties, Die-namics, Denami Ribbon, and the sentiment is from A Muse Stamps.
Thank-you so much for stopping by, have a wonderful weekend!

I'm squeezing this in the knick of time for the  Denami Design Color Challenge #7.  I'm also cutting it close for the CPS215 Challenge.  I stamped Scooter Mimi on X-Press It (yummy Copic Paper!) with Momento Ink, coloring her in with my Copics.  I used Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, My Mind's Eye Lime Twist (their new line), and Chocolate Chip.  Denami Design Buttons, Rhinestones, SU Photo Corner Punch, and Linen Thread.
I made this for a sweet lady...just wanted her to know I was thinking of her=)
Have a great night!

Feel Better Soon...

My friends husband fell ill on Friday.  She took him to the ER, got him all checked, then had to leave so she could sing the National Anthem at Col Kross' Retirement Ceremony.  She did such a wonderful job singing even with not knowing what was going on with her husband back at the ER.  She went back to the ER after the ceremony, later that evening her husbands appendix ruptured.  They have had one heck of a time with his health this last year.  I pray he has a speedy recovery and gets to feeling better soon!
I colored the Butterflies from Unity Stamps Dream Big Set with my Copics.  I stamped the sentiment from Verve Stamps then took a Copic Multiliner to make a box around my image panel.  The DSP is from My Mind's Eye new line, Lime Twist.
Have a great day and please keep my friend and her husband in your prayers!

Happy Retirement Col Kross...

Col Kross was my hubs Commander when we first arrived to DMAFB.  Not too long after we were here Col Kross took a year assignment to Africa, without his family.  He's now returned from Africa to retire from the Air Force.  I will miss him and his wife Mimi dearly.  I wish them both the best on their new life in the civillian world.
My card is really simple and basic.  I stamped my image form SU's Courage set in Momento Ink on Neenah Cardstock coloring it in with Copics.  I colored in the soldier, jet, and ship to give them a silhouette look.  I highlighted with a white gel pen on the flag and also a clear gel pen to the goggles.  Baroque Burgundy, Black cardstock, SU jumbo eyelets, and Denami Design Ribbon.
Below are some pictures from Col Kross' Retirement Ceremony and Retirement Party.

 General Spears and Col Kross.

Mimi pinning on Col Kross' Retirement Pin.

These young men did such an amazing job during the flag ceremony and presenting the flag to Col Kross.  It was completely silent during the whole ceremony.  Such a beautiful site, I had tears in my eyes the whole time.
Below are pictures from Col Kross' Retirement Party.  We had such a great time and glad we were able to be there.

For the Mommy and Daddy-to-be...

Sad to say I made this card several weeks ago and I'm just now getting around to posting it.  I made this for my boss, Katie and her husband Hoss when they found out they were expecting.  Katie's just starting to show and looks just as cute as ever!
I was able to submit my card for Bellarific Friday's Challenge which was a "Free" week.  I (of course) let Em know I made this card forever ago, lol.  I stamped Expectafellabella in Momento Ink, coloring it in with Copics.  Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz cardstock, BG Origins paper, Nesties, and Denami Design Ribbon.
Have a great week everyone!

Intermediate Copic Certification...

I had a great time at the Intermediate Copic Certification Class taught by Colleen Schaan (@ left with me) and Debbie Olson earlier this month.  Colleen and Debbie were such awesome instructors.  I learned so much from them.  I loved having them critique my work and give me valuable advice so I can become a better artist.
Colleen was so sweet and bubbly.  I just loved how excited she got when she was teaching the class.

Debbie Olson...I could listen to her teach for hours.  I loved her accent!  She has such a warm and friendly personality, made you feel like you've known her for years!

Cindy, our Copic Rep and Jennie Black, our Copic Certification Instructor for the Western USA.  I can't even begin to tell you how much I adore these ladies!  These two ladies have encouraged me to reach for my goals.  I really appreciate their vote of confidence in me!
Jennie...ahhh...I just love this lady!  I drove to Las Vegas for the Standard Certification Class she taught back in May 2010.  I want to say I was in the 2nd class that she certified.  I also took some technique classes of hers back in February, they were awesome!  Those classes really helped me understand the material being taught in the Intermediate Class.  Jennie had such confidence in me and really encouraged me to apply for the Intermediate Class.  Thank-you so much for all that you've done for me Jennie!  I'm so glad that I got to see you in Phoenix!

I had such a nice couple of days of "me" time in Phoenix.  Shopping, Copics Class, a day at the salon getting my hair cut and colored, more shopping=)  Thank-you to my wonderful hubs for giving me the time away!

Echo Park @ MMU...

Madison Parker from Echo Park came to Making Memories Unforgettable earlier this month.  This was my first time taking a scrapbooking class.  The morning class was a lot of fun.  We made an awesome layout using "For the Record" and two beautiful cards.
Madison, Katie, her hubby Hoss, her friend Dena, Kimberly, Lori, and I went to Zivaz Mexican Bistro for lunch.  I enjoyed the food and conversation.  It was nice to be able talk with Madison and brainstorm about paper line ideas.
I was lucky enough to be able to squeeze into the full afternoon class.  Thank-you Madison for bringing extra kits=)  We made the cutest little album using "Summer Days".  It was just adorable!  I had such a great day, I'm looking forward to Madison's next visit!
Team MMU thanks you Madison for coming out and spending the day with us!

Congratulations Melissa!!!

My friend Melissa was promoted last week.  I was thrilled when she asked me to attend her promotion ceremony.  It started with one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard singing the National Anthem.  This gal was amazing!  Ruby gave a wonderful Invocation.  The Commander had many great things to say about Melissa and her accomplishments in the AF.  I actually learned a few things about her I didn't know during the Commander's speech.  Melissa was pinned on then had a few words to say, she kept her speech short, lol=) (below is a picture of Melissa during her speech).  I was blessed to be apart of her special day!  I made my card the morning of her promotion ceremony so it is very simple.  I used Crumb Cake as my base.  I stamped the Flag from Happy Fourth in Momento ink, masking it then stamping the Med Double Line Border Square.  I colored in the Flag with copics, adding some highlights with a white gel pen and adding some glamour dust to it.  I ran a glue around the square then sprinkled it with glitter.  I went over the black stamped bits of the flag with a glaze pen to have it glisten just a bit=)  The sentiment is from Service & Sacrifice.  I used Dienamics Open Scallop Border with Navy Ribbon on top.

Just thought I'd share...I found out I won the Denami Design Product #7 Challenge with my Hey Chickie Card.  Yay me=)
Thank-you for stopping by.  Have a great rest of your week!
