Happy Birthday Carl!!!

Happy birthday to my wonderful father-in-law.  I’m very blessed to have a father-in-law who thinks of me and treats me like his own daughter ️. I have such a special place for him in my heart.  He was there for me when I stayed with them for several weeks after a death in the family.  He helped me through such a difficult time in my life back then and I can never thank him enough for that.  He's been such a wonderful dad to my hubs and grandpa to our daughter.  I'm so very grateful and thankful for him

Happy Birthday Carl!!!

My father in law loves car racing.  I thought the My Favorite Things Fast Track Friends stamp set would be a great set to make him a card with.  I stamped my image with Memento Ink, on Neenah, coloring with Copics, then used the coordinating die-namics to die cut it.  I stamped the City Block Background stamp from MFT in Basic Gray on a white card stock base.  I used the Snow Drift Die-namics and die cut it with Crumb Cake card stock, then made some dark patches of dirt with Copics and layered it on my card.  Then I used the Banner Flags Die-namics and die cut it in Basic Gray and again to get the banner portion in white. The sentiment is from the Banner Day Sentiments stamp set.  I used pop-dots for my main image and sentiment.

Happy 5th Birthday Tanner!!!

Our youngest grandson, Tanner turned 5 earlier this month.  I usually coordinate our grandson's birthday cards with either their gifts or what they are currently into.  Right now Tanner loves Paw Patrol.  We got him stuff to do his bedroom in Paw Patrol.  I would've found some clip art online to create a coordinating card but we've been without our home computer and printer for over a month while we're working on some DIY projects in our home.  Hopefully soon things will be back to normal in our home.  Anyhow...

I started off with a card base of Ridinghood Red.  Next I layered Crumb Cake and Lily Bee Designs patterned paper.  I then die cut the Fast Track die-namics in black and layered it on top.  I stamped my image from My Favorite Things Fast Track Friends in memento ink on neenah cardstock, coloring with copics.  I layered it on the card with pop dots.  I finished off the card with the sentiment from Fast Track Friends on a die cut Fishtail Flags Die-namic in Crumb Cake.  I used the MFTWSC548 for my layout.
I love that all my grandboys enjoy getting homemade cards from me each year.

Thank you for stopping by!

But It's A Dry Heat...

I had some extra cards from when I was a key spouse.  I made tons of cards to welcome spouses, send them RAK's while their spouses were deployed, thinking of you cards, and birthday cards.  Below was one of the extra cards I had posted.  I sold the card, but then had a friend ask for one to frame and display in her home.  Then I had my physical therapist make an order for a dozen.  And another single card order.  I ended up with a massive assembly line and ran out of the Brilliant Blue (which is now retired) so I made some color adjustments.  Thank you for the order guys!

Another single card order.

I used Black, White, and SU's Brilliant Blue, and Cherry Cobbler card stock (until I ran out of the Brilliant Blue, then I changed the colors to Night of Navy and Real Red).  My Favorite Things Die-namics InstaFrame, Cricut 50 States Cartridge, and SU Owl Punch for the Heart.  The sentiment is from a local craft show I went to years ago, unfortunately the stamp doesn't have any business information on it.  I made the tag with SU's Square Punch and finished it off with a button and twine.

Thank you for taking a look at my blog!

My Heart Wears a Smile Because of You...

My fellow TTG member who had a heart ablation a couple months ago asked me if I could make her Cardiologist a thank-you card.  She really like the one that I made for her and asked me to replicate it, swapping out the sentiment on the front.  Inside is stamped, "My Heart Wears a Smile Because of You".  So perfect for this card!

My Heart Wears a Smile Because of You...

I started out using the My Favorite Things Heart Rays Die-namics, using Stampin' Up Blush Blossoms, Regal Rose, Strawberry Slush, Melon Mambo, and Real Red card stock.  I stamped MFT Distressed Patterns in Pink Pirouette then mounted the heart with pop dots on Neenah card stock which was die cut using the MFT A2 Stitched Rectangle Stax Die-namics.  I used MFT Fishtail Foundations Die-namic, stamped the sentiment from the MFT Big Greetings stamp set then die cut it.  I mounted my panel on a Sahara Sand card base.

Happy Birthday Michelle...

For my friend and gym buddy Michelle for her birthday.  I miss doing classes with her.  Always great fun with her in "the back row", ha!  Her birthday was also in May.

Happy Birthday Michelle...

I had so much fun making this card.  I worked on the ocean and sky for a LONG time trying to get it to look just so...that I realized after I uploaded the picture that I never put a sun in the scene, haha!  Ah well, I still like that way it turned out.  I did the ocean and sky on one panel then used and oval die to die die cut another panel and place it over the top.  Next I used snow drifts die-namics for the sand and markers to make the pebbled look.  I die cut the palm tree from the beach scene builed die-namic, using copics and a white gel pen to shade and high light it.  I stamped My Favorite Things PI Hula Girl on neenah card stock with memento ink, coloring her with copics and fussy cutting her out.  Stamped the sentiment on crumb cake card stock and mounting my panels on a white card base.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hey Gullfriend...

To one of the kindest, most beautiful people I know...Tracey.  She's been a ray of sunshine since I've met her.  She's one of those people that when you part company you always feel like you're in a much better mood after being in her presence.  This was for her birthday that was in May.

Hey Gullfriend...
I took inspiration from 3 different cards I saw on pinterest.  Of course all these months later now that I sit to blog, I have no idea what the cards were, I just remember that there was 3 cards I liked and took from each of them and meshed them into what I created.  I always like to give credit where credit is due, so I apologize that I'm not able to.  I began by creating my sunrise (?) or is it a sunset (?), I was having this discussion with my best friend on the phone as I was creating the scene.  I used post it notes to mask off where the ocean would be and used a circle punch negative and positive for the sun.  I used Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, and Night of Navy for the sky.  Next I used the Beach Scene Builder to create a mask for my ocean and sand.  I used Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Pointe for the Ocean.  Crumb Cake ink, and Sahara Sand and Wheat Versamagic chalk inks for the sand.  I used SU markers to create a pebbled look on the sand.  Then (for my very first time) I used Copic Opaque White ink, thinned it and splattered it over my panel with a paint brush.  I have to say I was SO nervous to do this.  I thought for sure I'd ruin all the work I put into my scene.  I followed up the Opaque White splatters with some water splatters (also for my first time) on the ocean.  I stamped the seagulls from the Seaside Seagulls in memento ink on neenah, coloring with copics and die cut them.  Then used the Cute Cloud Outlines die-namics in white, with stickles on it.  I stamped my sentiment on black carstock with versamark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder.  Layered my panel on white and crumb cake.

Thank you for taking a look at my blog!

Hi Friend...

I'm a bit behind with my blogging.  We've been in the middle of a few DIY projects since mid March.  I've been able to pop in my craft cave to make a card here and there but blogging was put on the back burner.  This was for my friend Meg who's birthday was in May.  We were stationed together many, many years ago in Mt. Home, Idaho.  We had such a great time together and I'm so thankful we've kept in tough with each other all these years later!

Hi Friend...

I used the cute little panda from one of the MFT card kits.  This is from the stamp set Weather without You.  I stamped the panda in memento ink, on neenah card stock and die cut it with the coordinating die.  I did the same with the little flag.  I used the High Rise Alphabet dienamics and die cut the word friend in black card stock then high lighted the letters with a white gel pen.  I stamped the Best Friend Background stamp in Costal Cabana Ink and stamped it on Coastal Cabana Card stock.  I layered it on a white panel then mounted it on a blacck card base.

Thank you for popping in!

Freshly Picked for You...

For my "mom" (my besties mom, who has taken me in as her own) for her birthday.  I wish I could be with her for her birthday and give her a big (((HUG))).  It has been an incredibly difficult year for her.  I hope this will brighten her day, if even for a moment.

Freshly Picked for You...
I started out with a die cut panel from the Wonky Stitch die-namics.  Next I stamped my image from the My Favorite Things Freshly Picked Bouquet stamp set in memento ink on neenah card stock, then die cut it, and colored it with copics.  Next I took two strips of card stock and run them through my xyron and sprinkled Stampin' Up chunky glitter on them.  I then stamped the happy birthday sentiment from the Banner Day Sentiments stamp set and die cut it with the Banner Day Flags die-namics.  I mounted my panel on an Only Orange card base.  This is my entry for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge  MFTWSC549  I took coloring inspiration from Erika Hayes card.  I used a different coloring medium than she did so I ended up with different results.
