Please Join Us...

Retirement Invitations for a friend of mine.  She asked if I would make 60 for her.  This is what I came up with.

I started out running strips of MME American Made paper through my Cuttlebug with the Die-namics Hexagons from about time consuming!  I took each Hexagon and ran it through my Xyron Sticker Maker, which was also time consuming!  I stamped the sentiment, then used the SU Square Punch to make the banner.  I also ran both banner pieces through the Xyron Sticker guessed it...time consuming!  I used Die-namics Stacking stars, Denami Design Buttons, SU Bakers Twine, SU Scallop Circle Punch, SU 1 3/8 Circle Punch, Riding Hood Red, White, and Night of Navy Papers.  My entry for TPE167 which is to create a card with a Chevron or Hexagon theme.  This is also my entry for RCC72 which is to use Buttons and Twine on your card.

All 60 of the cards=)

Congratulations and Welcome to the Neighborhood...

I made this for one of the neighbors that recently bought a house down the street.  The house has been empty for the 3 years that we've lived here.  It brought a smile to my face when I drove by and saw people moving in a few weeks ago.  I'm going to make Moscato Cupcakes with Moscato Frosting tomorrow to greet them with...fingers crossed they turn out!

I started out stamping PI Home Sweet Home in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I paper pieced her jacket and skirt.  Rose Red, Crumb Cake and EP So Happy Together paper.  SU Square Punch, SU Ticket Punch and Brads.  I used MFTWSC89 for my layout.

Thank-you for stopping by.  Have a great day!

You Hold the Key...

I made this card for my hubs for our's hard to believe we got married 19 years ago, it feels like yesterday.  I knew the day I met him, 21 years ago that I wanted to marry him.  I'm grateful and can't thank him enough for being an excellent dad to our daughter, a fantastic poppa to our grandboys, and a wonderful husband to me.  As my father in law says, "it's always an adventure with you two, enjoy the journey while you can."  Well, it's been a heck of an adventure full of wonderful memories I'll cherish for a lifetime.  We've had quite the journey thus far and I'm looking forward to spending the rest of our journey together.

I started out stamping PI Home Sweet Home in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I fussy cut her out and paper pieced her jacket and skirt.  I went over her shoes with a Glaze Pen.  Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, MME Nostalgia paper.  Die-namics Dizzy Doily DUO and Upsy Daisies, CB Folder, SU Square Punch for the banner, Denami Design Sand Buttons, Twinery Twine.  I stamped on the banner, "You Hold the Key" and inside is stamped, "to my heart".  I used MFTWSC83.  This is also my entry for TPE165 which is wedding/anniversary.

Thank-you for stopping by!  Have a great rest of your week=)

But It's a Dry Heat...

September 11th...I'm sure we all remember where we were 11 years ago today.  We were stationed in Germany, my daughter was the one who called me to tell me what happened.  She didn't understand really what was going on and told me a bomb had gone off in the US.  Being overseas things were so different for us than what is was for our Americans stateside, we weren't experiencing the same thing.  I remember flying home that December for my husbands father's memorial and felt America had changed.  Tho we know what 9/11 is and know the tragic events that happened that day, we weren't exposed to all that the US was.  There's so much about 9/11 that I don't know, but one thing I know for is one day in my life that I know I'll never forget and will always remember where I was and what I was doing.  I'm so grateful and thankful to my military family who serve and who have given the ultimate sacrifice protecting our freedom.  My thoughts and prayers are with all the victims and friends and families of the victims for their loss.

Ok...onto my card=)  I made a dozen of these cards to welcome the spouse's of my hubs squadron that arrived here over the summer.  I know how it is to arrive at a new base and not know the town or anyone in it, so I wanted them to know I'm here if they need anything.  I thought I'd welcome the spouse's with a little humor- It's always a joke here in AZ, that no matter how hot it can be 110 out and someone will say, "but it's a dry heat", yah, it is but it's still hot!

Anyhow, I kept my cards because I was making so many of them and two because I wanted to play along in this weeks CAS-ual Fridays Challenge which is embossing.  I started off stamping the Saguaro from the My Favorite Things Ride em Cowgirl set in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I used the SU 1 3/8 Circle Punch then the SU Scallop Circle Punch on Black cardstock.  I stamped my sentiment then used the SU Square Punch to make the banners.  For my embossing I used the CB Swiss Dot Folder then layered it on Black Cardstock and mounted it on my white cardstock base.  Denami Design Ribbon, SU Baker's Twine and a button.

Sending Sweet Thoughts...

I made this card for each of the deployed spouses in my hubs squadron.  As a Key Spouse, one of my duties is to check up on them to make sure they're doing ok and see if they need anything while their spouse is away.  I like to make and send all of them a card each month to let them know I'm thinking of them and am here for them if they need me.  This was my card for them for August.

I started off stamping PI Sweet Greetings in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  Pool Party, Rose Red, and EP So Happy Together paper.  Sentiment from PI Sweet Greetings set, SU Square Punch to make the banner, Twine, and a button.  My layout is MFTWSC81.

Precious Princess on the way...

Our friends are expecting a baby girl in October.  I'm so excited for them and can't wait to meet their precious little princess!  I made this card for her baby shower.

I stamped the Butterfly from Denami Design Fancy Flutters Set in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I added Smooch to the gray bits of the butterfly and Glam Pink Stickles on top of the pink.  Pretty in Pink and EP Dots and Stripes paper, Denami Design Buttons, Nesties, and SU Baker's Twine.  I used TPE159 for my layout.

My baby shower gift was my color inspiration for my card=)

Birthday in Paradise...'s been over a month since I last blogged.  Life has been crazy busy for me the last several weeks.  Unfortunately for me when life gets busy, my crafting gets put on the back burner.  Hopefully it won't take me long to get back into the swing of things=)

I was inspired by Michelle Zindor's card and wanted to give her tutorial a try.  I made this for my father-in-law for his birthday (which was in July).  I used SU Whisper White, Baja Breeze and Black Cardstock.  More Mustard, Tangerine Tango, Cajun Craze, and Black ink.  SU Plant Hope, SU White Gel Pen, and Post-it notes.
