Praying for Your Puppy...

While taking my grandboys for a walk on Sunday one of the neighbors stopped me.  She told me she saw I had little ones and just wanted to get the word out in the neighborhood that her dog was attacked by another dog.  She was afraid it may attack children too.  She was out of town when it happened, her neighbor was watching her dog and had taken her little yorkie for a walk.  Her neighbor was carrying the dog at the end of the walk when a man opened the door to his house...his two dogs ran out and attacked the little yorkie while her neighbor was holding it=(  It's pelvis was shattered and stomach gashed.  The yorkie had to have surgery and she said she wasn't sure if her dog was going to make it or not.  All I've thought about since my walk is her and her dog.  I can't imagine if that had happened to one of my chihuahua's.  It's so very sad.  I know it's not much, but I made her and her yorkie a card to let them know I was thinking about them.
I started out stamping Pure Innocence Puppy Girl in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I fussy cut her and ran her through my Xron Sticker thingie-majig.  Daffodil Delight, Basic Gray, MME Dolled Up paper.  Die-namics Mini Monarch Border, Die-namicsDizzy Doily Duo, SU Photo Corner Punch, Pure Innocence Better Get Better Sentiment, Denami Design Button, and Twine.  I used MFTWSC70 for my sketch.
Thank-you for stopping bye.  Have a great day!

Honoring, Remembering, and Thanking...

Memorial Day was created as an occasion to honor those who have paid the ultimate price to ensure our freedom.  It is our opportunity to stop and give thanks for the many who have died protecting that freedom.  As many of you know I am an Air Force Wife.  My husband and I both come from military families.  Our dads were both in the Navy and our Grandfathers were both in the military as well.  I went from being a military dependant child to being a military dependant spouse.  The longer my husband is in the military, the more I love it.  I wouldn't trade being an Air Force Wife for the world...I absolutely love it!   One of my duties as a Key Spouse is to check up on the spouses of the deployed troops in my hubs squadron.  I've been making them a card each month to say hi and let them know I'm thinking of them.  This is the card I made for them for June=)

This is for this weeks MFTWSC73.  I'm only 3 sketches behind now=)  Anyhow, I started off stamping Pure Innocence Popping By in Memento Ink, coloring with Copics.  I stamped her dress and paper pieced it.  Then stamped her arms, popcorn, and drink again, colored them and paper pieced them.  I used Tim Holtz Scattered Straw Distress Ink for the sponging.  Sahara Sand, My Minds Eye Miss Caroline Dilly Dally, MME Stella and Rose Gertie, MME Lush Damask Paper.  Die-namics Pretty Posies, Die-namics Mini Monarch Border, Denami Rhinestone and Button.

Thank-you so much for stopping by.
Hope you have a great week!

Happy Retirement MSgt Spruill...

On Wednesday I had the pleasure of attending one of my hubs co-workers retirement ceremony.  It was one of the most beautiful retirement ceremonies I have attended.  Their daughter Jasmine was there who is also in the Air Force and was apart of the ceremony.  When MSgt gave his closing speech he said he was passing off the family business to his daughter...brought tears to my eyes!  I will miss MSgt Spruill and his wife Sandy dearly!

This is the card I made for MSgt Spruill.  I used RCC53 for my layout, but I didn't get it linked to the challenge in time=(  I goofed and thought I had 5 days and 34 mins left until I could upload and well, I had 5 hours and 34 mins.  Ah well, lesson learned...create, blog, then be done=)  Anyhow...my card is pretty simple- I used the Air Force Emblem stamp I got from Marco Papers when I was in Ohio several years ago.  Night of Navy, Riding Hood Red, Neenah, My Minds Eye American Made paper, Nesties, and Denami Design Ribbon.

Thank-you for stopping by.
Have a great Memorial Weekend!!!

Just a Note...

Sorry I've been MIA for the last few weeks.  My EDS (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) flared up leaving my hands in a lot of pain and of course that meant no cardmaking for me=(  The time off wasn't all a waste tho, my hubs took some leave so we headed to San Diego.  We spent Mother's Day with his Mother, Grandmother and Sister, which we have never done since being married.  We were also able to spend some time with my younger brother, meet his girlfriend, her daughter, and my nephew, who was all of 5 days old!  He is so precious!
Anyhow...onto my card.  I made these cards a few weeks ago for MFTWSC69 .  I sent them out to the spouse's of the deployed troops in my hubs squadron.  I started off stamping PI Making a List in Memento Ink, on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I paper pieced the dress and paper, then paper pieced the dress, then paper pieced the arm and pencil one last time.  After seeing how it came together I wish I would've made the last paper pieced layer be the arm, pencil, and paper.  Ah well, I'm still learning how to perfect the art of paper piecing=)  Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Nesties, and sentiment from Who's That Musical Girl.

Me and my nephew Dustin.                                                  Big Sister Riley and Dustin.

As always, thank-you for stopping by.  Have a great week!
