Happy Birthday Kamryn...

I use to be a Key Spouse when my hubs was in the military (almost retired for 2 years now).  I met a sweet lady, Charla during that time who was also a Key Spouse.  It's been awesome to see her little family grown over the years.  Her little one is turning 6 ( it doesn't seem possible!) and since all the social distancing with COVID 19 going on, she reached out and asked if her friends could send Kamryn a card since she wasn't able to have a party.  I of course said I would make her a card.

Happy Birthday Kamryn...
Kamryn loves cats and teal.  I started out with Denami Design Cat, stamping in memento ink, coloring with copics then using a circle punch and scalloped circle punch.  I used pop dots for dimension.  Crumb Cake, Echo Park So Happy Together paper, Bermuda Bay and My Favorite Things Happy Birthday Circle Frame Die-Damic.  Topped it off with ribbon from Denami Design.  Happy 6th Birthday Kamryn!  Hope you have a wonderful day!

Hope you have a Happy 4th of July!

Cycling Through the Years...

One of my friends asked if I could make a special card for her and her husband's upcoming 20th Wedding Anniversary.  She had a cycling theme of gifts that she was giving him and wanted something along the same lines.  She also requested that the colors be red and gold since he was a Marine.  This is what I came up with...

I saw a shirt that came up in my fb feed that had a heart made with bicycles.  It was super cute so I thought I'd give it a go.  I lightly traced a heart from one of the MFT die-namics.  I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp around the heart then erased the traced heart.  Real Red, Crushed Curry and White card stock.  My Favorite Things Little Numbers Die-namics

Thank you for stopping bye-
Have a great weekend!

Gratitude, Chocolate, Butterfly...

You know how you make cards for challenges and keep them but don't know what to do with them???  I made this for World Card Making Day in 2009 (I didn't have a blog back then, ha!).  It was my first (and only) time I've participated in the event.  I like butterflies and love this card and never wanted to part with it...until now.  I wanted to start sending cards to my friends and family who I see on FB that either need a PMU (Pick Me Up) or who are just simply amazing people who do simply amazing things for others. I'm sending this to a fellow Spouse of the Year, Lori.  I met her when we went to Washington DC in 2014 for the Military Spouse Caucus/Military Spouse of the Year Luncheon.  Lori is such a sweet lady with such a big heart.  Her and husband have season tickets for the OKC Thunder NBA Team and the OKC Blue (NBA D-League).  They have 3 tickets for the OKC Thunder team and try to bless a service member or a spouse of a deployed service member with the extra ticket.  For the OKC Blue team they have 4 tickets and try to bless a military couple with the extra tickets.  Last year Lori did a "Year of Friendships" where she shared pictures of her friends and celebrated the friendship she shared with them...it simply warmed my heart.  Lori is always a positive, upbeat person and I just wanted her to know how much her big heart is appreciated across the miles =)

This was for a 3 part challenge.  We had to use Chocolate in our card, it had to be a thank you card, and we had to use the sketch provided (which I no longer have, sorry!).  My base is Chocolate Chip.  I used the swirl from Priceless in Chocolate Chip on it.  I stamped the butterfly from Stampscapes, on Gina K. Pure Luxury 80 lb cardstock, colored it with Prismacolor Pencils, used Pearl Ex on it then clear embossed it.  The sentiment is from Wonderful Words.  Prima flower and a button.

Green Medallion...

Whoo-hoo!!!  This is the last card that I need to blog to be caught up then I can start the New Year with all new cards.  I have to thank my bestie who's been giving me the title for my cards...it's the hardest part for me and he makes it look so easy!!!  Anyhow, I made these oh in 2014 for the spouse's who had birthdays in December.

This card was my inspiration card.  Got to love Pinterest!  I stamped SU Medallion in Gumball Green.  Ribbon and sentiment from Michael's and rhinestones.

I can't believe it's New Year's Eve!  Where has the year gone???  We're headed over to our besties house to spend the night and ring in the New Year.  I hope everyone has a Safe and Happy New Years!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

It's a DRY Heat...

I made these cards to welcome the new spouse's from my husband's squadron to Tucson.

I used 3 stamps from Stamp Out (I bought them at a local stamp show) to create the scene.  I used Prismacolor Pencils, Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry cardstock, MFT PI Soldier Boy for the sentiment, SU Square Punch, a button and linen thread.

I hope you have a wonderful New Year's Eve!  Thanks for stopping by!

LucKey...

LucKey...I'm lucky to to be a Key Spouse and get to do the things that I do.  I'm thankful and grateful for the people I have met along the way, the opportunities that have been given to me, and for some of the challenges I have had to overcome too.  It's not always easy, but it is rewarding and I have made some lifelong friendship from being a Key Spouse.  The Key Spouses were given a luncheon in our honor to thank us for what we do. I made thank you cards for having the luncheon they had for us =)

LucKey...
I stamped ALM Key to my Heart in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring her with Copics.  I colored in the key with a glaze pen.  Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy, and My Mind's Eye American Made Paper.  SU Square Punch and Sentiment from SU Noteworthy Set.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great week!
I'm starting mine off with meeting my friends new baby girl, I'm so excited!

Shooting Stars...

For one of my hubs bosses who recently moved to North Carolina and got a job teaching at Duke University.  I will miss this particular boss as he's always been one of those people who always takes the time to sit and chat with me when I come to the office.  Just one of those people that you will always remember as they have touched your life in such a positive way.  I made him this card to thank him for all he's done for me and my hubs and wish him well on his new journey.

I want to say I got my inspiration for this card on pinterest but I don't have it pinned to give credit to that person (I'm sorry!).  I'm one of those people who always gives a person credit if I've CASE'd their card and I feel terrible knowing I made this card and can't give credit to the person my inspiration came from...=(  Anyhow...I stamped SU's Musical Score in black ink on Crumb Cake.  I used Die-namics Star Stax partically off the Brilliant Blue Cardstock, then used a smaller Die-namics Star Stax  in Real Red to put in the middle of the Brilliant Blue cut out.  Sentiment from SU's Godspeed Set.  SU Square Punch used to make the tag.

Thank you for stopping by!
Hope you have a great rest of your weekend!

Welcome to the Group...

Wow, I can't believe it's been over a year since my last blog post.  This last year has been a trying year for me.  I've had two surgeries, been on bed rest for a total of 3.5 months and when I'm fully recovered from this surgery, it will be a total of 6 months of not being able to walk/drive.  I completely lost my MOJO and gained 12 lbs...oh wait, that wasn't the goal!  Lol...

Anyhow, I have some cards from 2013 that I made and would still like to post.  I don't remember much about them tho, so I apologize ahead of time for not remembering to give credit to a sketch or inspiration...it's not like me to not do that.  The next several posts of mine will be very basic until I'm caught up and back in a rhythm.  Looking forward to getting back into my craft cave and back into the creative world again!

I made this for one of our spouses who was new to our spouse's groups meeting.  I try to make each spouse who attends our meetings for the first time a card to welcome them =)

Thank-you for stopping by!
Have a great rest of your weekend!

Happy Retirement Chief Huckaba!!!

For Chief Huckaba who recently retired.  Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to his retirement, I woke up at 5 that morning with the flu...I was in bed for the next two days, ugh!

I did my usual...Neenah, Momento, Copics.  Then fussy cut the image from WTG Godspeed out, mounting it on a Crumb Cake layer I ran through my Cuttlebug.  Real Red, MME American Made paper, Die-namics Star Stax, Star Rhinestones, Button, SU Linen Thread.  I'm still behind with my sketches and trying to catch up.  I used MFTWSC90 for this one.

Thank-you for stopping by!
Have a great weekend!

Silent Auction Card #1...

I'm making a card basket for the silent auction at my hubs squadron's Christmas Party on Friday.  I meant to start this several weeks ago, sigh.  This is the first card I've made for the basket.  My hope was to make 12, fingers crossed I get somewhere close to that!

I started off stamping PI Soldier Girl on Neenah with Memento, coloring with Copics.  I fussy cut her out and mounted her on a layer of Crumb Cake that I ran through my Cuttlebug.  Real Red, White, MME American Made paper.  CB Folders,  Die-namics Star Stax,  SU Linen Thread, Rhinestones, and a Button.  I used MFTWSC101 for my layout.

We went to the 12th Air Force's Christmas Party this past Friday.  It was at a private gated communities country club.  Absolutely beautiful!  The view was amazing...on top of a hill overlooking the city, just breathtaking.  We had a lot of fun.  Below are a few pictures from the evening.

Congratulations Chief Pohnert...

One of my hubs coworkers pinned on Chief this past Friday.  I made him this card to congratulate him on his accomplishment.  Promotion to Chief is highly competitive, only 1% of the Air Force makes it to Chief.  Congratulations again to making it to the top 1% Chief Pohnert!

I first would like to thank Angela for making this stunning card.  She gave me the idea to make my own stripes...I made mine like  patch they'd sew onto their uniform verses a whole new sleeve like she did.  Thank-you again Angela for the inspiration!!!  I started out by masking the patches on the arm, then stamped WTG Godspeed in Memento on Neenah using Copics.  I made a very modified version of Chief Stripes, cut it out and placed it on the arm (making sure to ask my hubs if I had the placement right, lol).  I used a White Gel Pen for the stripes and buttons.  Real Red, Crumb Cake, Night of Navy and MME American Made paper.  Die-namics Star Stax and Die-namics Stacking Stars, SU Square Punch, Button, Twine, and sentiment from WTG Godspeed.  I'm way behind with my goal of doing the weekly sketch challenges from MFT for a whole year=(  But...this one is actually in on time=)  MFTWSC100.

Thank-you for stopping by!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Please Join Us...

Retirement Invitations for a friend of mine.  She asked if I would make 60 for her.  This is what I came up with.

I started out running strips of MME American Made paper through my Cuttlebug with the Die-namics Hexagons from MFT...talk about time consuming!  I took each Hexagon and ran it through my Xyron Sticker Maker, which was also time consuming!  I stamped the sentiment, then used the SU Square Punch to make the banner.  I also ran both banner pieces through the Xyron Sticker Maker...you guessed it...time consuming!  I used Die-namics Stacking stars, Denami Design Buttons, SU Bakers Twine, SU Scallop Circle Punch, SU 1 3/8 Circle Punch, Riding Hood Red, White, and Night of Navy Papers.  My entry for TPE167 which is to create a card with a Chevron or Hexagon theme.  This is also my entry for RCC72 which is to use Buttons and Twine on your card.

All 60 of the cards=)

Have a great evening!

Honor Flight...

I made this card to thank my hubs First Shirt for letting me know about the welcome home at the airport for the WWII Vets from DC.  It was an experience I will cherish, one that touched my heart and brought tears welling up in my eyes several times.

I started off coloring PI Soldier Boy in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I fussy cut him out and put him on a Cherry Cobler layer that I ran through my CB.  My Minds Eye and Echo Park Paper.  I stamped the sentiment on Sahara Sand and used a SU Punch to make the tab.  Denami Design Button and Twine.  My layout is MFTWSC75.

Thank-you for stopping by, have a great day!

Happy Retirement Major Stelling!!!

Another one of my hubs co-workers is retiring tomorrow.  Major Stelling is such a sweet lady and so excited to retire and just be a mommy to her children.  I know she will enjoy being a stay at home mom=)  This is the card I made for her to celebrate her special day...
I won this super cute digital image, Lollipop Independence Julie a few months ago from BLD.  I printed a sheet full of her on Neenah paper as soon as I won her so the ink had time to settle and dry.  I'm happy to say I had no issues with the smearing or bleeding, yay!  Anyhow,  I colored her with Copics.  I added a Glitter Pen to the American Flag and the white bits in her dress and a Glaze Pen to her shoes.  Riding Hood Red and MME American Made Paper, Nesties, Die-namics Stacking Stars, and SU Photo Corner Punch.  My sentiment is from the MFT set Big Greetings.  I used this month's SFYTT.  This is my first time playing along in a challenge with the gals at The Pink Elephant.  This weeks TPE151 is to use Vibrant colors.  My hubs and I debated back and forth whether this was considered "Vibrant" for the challenge, he was thinking it was more "Bold"...humph.  Ah well, I'll give it a go...

Happy Retirement MSgt Spruill...

On Wednesday I had the pleasure of attending one of my hubs co-workers retirement ceremony.  It was one of the most beautiful retirement ceremonies I have attended.  Their daughter Jasmine was there who is also in the Air Force and was apart of the ceremony.  When MSgt gave his closing speech he said he was passing off the family business to his daughter...brought tears to my eyes!  I will miss MSgt Spruill and his wife Sandy dearly!

This is the card I made for MSgt Spruill.  I used RCC53 for my layout, but I didn't get it linked to the challenge in time=(  I goofed and thought I had 5 days and 34 mins left until I could upload and well, I had 5 hours and 34 mins.  Ah well, lesson learned...create, blog, then be done=)  Anyhow...my card is pretty simple- I used the Air Force Emblem stamp I got from Marco Papers when I was in Ohio several years ago.  Night of Navy, Riding Hood Red, Neenah, My Minds Eye American Made paper, Nesties, and Denami Design Ribbon.

Thank-you for stopping by.
Have a great Memorial Weekend!!!

Congratulations Major Avilla...

One of my hubs co-workers was promoted to Major earlier this week so I made him a card for the occassion.  Major Avilla's parents were able to come in from out of town to be apart of his pin on ceremony, which was so nice to see his family be there for him and support him.

Anyhow, my card was very quick and simple.  The inspiration for my sketch came from the recent Denami Sketch #10 Challenge, changing it just a bit.  I started off by stamping Patriotic Chickie in Memento on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I used a Prismacolor Pencil and OMS for the ground.  Service and Sacrifice sentiment, SU Punches, CB Folder, Night of Navy and Cherry Cobbler cardstock.

I hope you have a great weekend.  My girlfriend and I are going to Tubac this evening for the Luminaria Nights Fiesta Navidad.  Neither of us have been before and are looking so forward to it.

Happy Retirement Col Kross...

Col Kross was my hubs Commander when we first arrived to DMAFB.  Not too long after we were here Col Kross took a year assignment to Africa, without his family.  He's now returned from Africa to retire from the Air Force.  I will miss him and his wife Mimi dearly.  I wish them both the best on their new life in the civillian world.
My card is really simple and basic.  I stamped my image form SU's Courage set in Momento Ink on Neenah Cardstock coloring it in with Copics.  I colored in the soldier, jet, and ship to give them a silhouette look.  I highlighted with a white gel pen on the flag and also a clear gel pen to the goggles.  Baroque Burgundy, Black cardstock, SU jumbo eyelets, and Denami Design Ribbon.
Below are some pictures from Col Kross' Retirement Ceremony and Retirement Party.

 General Spears and Col Kross.

Mimi pinning on Col Kross' Retirement Pin.

These young men did such an amazing job during the flag ceremony and presenting the flag to Col Kross.  It was completely silent during the whole ceremony.  Such a beautiful site, I had tears in my eyes the whole time.
Below are pictures from Col Kross' Retirement Party.  We had such a great time and glad we were able to be there.
