Happy Retirement Major Stelling!!!

Another one of my hubs co-workers is retiring tomorrow.  Major Stelling is such a sweet lady and so excited to retire and just be a mommy to her children.  I know she will enjoy being a stay at home mom=)  This is the card I made for her to celebrate her special day...
I won this super cute digital image, Lollipop Independence Julie a few months ago from BLD.  I printed a sheet full of her on Neenah paper as soon as I won her so the ink had time to settle and dry.  I'm happy to say I had no issues with the smearing or bleeding, yay!  Anyhow,  I colored her with Copics.  I added a Glitter Pen to the American Flag and the white bits in her dress and a Glaze Pen to her shoes.  Riding Hood Red and MME American Made Paper, Nesties, Die-namics Stacking Stars, and SU Photo Corner Punch.  My sentiment is from the MFT set Big Greetings.  I used this month's SFYTT.  This is my first time playing along in a challenge with the gals at The Pink Elephant.  This weeks TPE151 is to use Vibrant colors.  My hubs and I debated back and forth whether this was considered "Vibrant" for the challenge, he was thinking it was more "Bold"...humph.  Ah well, I'll give it a go...

Flower Fairies...

Happy World Rare Disease Day to my fellow friends with Rare Diseases.  Today has been such a heartwarming day for me.  I've enjoyed the texts I've been getting from my friends and pictures of my friends wearing their Zebra Stripes posted to my Wall...it has brought me near tears a couple of times, I really do have the greatest friends.  Usually I have a Zebra Card of somesort to share on this day, but unfortunately life has been so busy for me I didn't have the time to squeeze it in.  Ah well.  Thank-you to everyone who has supported me and left a comment on my little blog give-a-way.
This is for this months SFYTT and I'm barely getting it in on time.  I used Flower Pot Fairies from YNS.  I stamped in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I added Smooch to the wings.  Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, EP Country Drive paper, nesties, buttons, and twine.

Thank-you so much for stopping by.  Hope you enjoy the rest of you day!

The Lucky One...

My book club read The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks for December.  It was pretty good, except how the book ended.  I won't ruin it for anyone who hasn't read it, but it just seemed rushed to me.  Anyhow, I made this for Lauren, our hostess to thank her for opening up her home and hosting the meeting for us.
This week's Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge 112 is In the Spotlight.  We were to highlight an area of the stamp or only use part of the stamp.  I decided to just use part of the stamp.  It worked perfect for this months SFYTT.  Lauren's decor was Chocolate and blueish aqua, that's where my color inspiration came from=)  I started off stamping Lucy in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with my copics.  I sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo and Old Paper Distress Inks.  Chocolate Chip, Denami Design Aqua Shimmer and MME Stella & Rose (Mabel) paper, Nesties, MME, SU, and Michael's Ribbons.  The photo seems a bit off but the colors match a lot better in person=(

Thank-you so much for stopping by, have a great day!

Praying for Paula...

I made this card for our friend Paula who is undergoing brain surgery today.  Please keep her in your prayers.

My card is for this month's SFYTT.  I am proud to say that I have completed the year long monthly sketch challenges!!!  Yay!

I started off stamping PI Better Get Better in Memento Ink on Neenah coloring with Copics.  I paper pieced her dress and stamped the bear again and cut him out to give him a little more dimension.  Wild Wasabi, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, and EP Holly Jolly Christmas Paper.  Die-namics, buttons, and twine.
Thank-you Jen for all the fun sketches you put together for us this last year.  I always look forward to the first Saturday of each month to see what you came up with=)  I'm looking forward to seeing what you have planned for 2012!  Here's my entries for the last year...

Do I dazzle you???

This card is for my fellow spouse and sweet friend Lindsey who's "Team Jasper"...humph.  I couldn't come up with a catchy quote Edward says to Jasper so I came up with a silly one from Edward, "Do I dazzle you?"  I'm looking forward to going out to the movies with my daughter and girlfriends, I'm long overdue for some girly time=)
This will be my last entry for Monday Funday #7 Twi-Color Combo and the last of my Edward cards...I hope you're not tired of them, lol.  I stamped Edward in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  Real Red, Black, and EP Happy Days Paper.  I sprayed Glimmer Mist on my white panel...to make it "dazzle"=)  Sentiment is computer generated.  For my sketch I used this month's SFYTT.  I'll also upload my card to EP FB Page.  Each week they pick a featured project to share on their blog for using their paper and posting your project to their FB Page...easy enough!
Thank-you for stopping by!

Girls just wanna have fun...

This is my entry for this month's SFYTT and the Bellarific Friday Challenge, which is to use stripes.  I recently got my order from Stamping Bella's New Release and have to say these Uptown Girls are one of my favorite releases!
I stamped Victoria and Juliette's Night Out in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics and paper piecing one of the dresses.  I used stickles to trim their dresses, a glaze pen over their glass and stickles on the rim.  For the ground I used a prismacolor pencil and OMS.  Blush Blossoms, Basic Gray and Authentique Paper.  Die-namics, SU Basic Gray Ribbon, and SU Photo Corner Punch.  Sentiment came with Victoria and Juliette's Night Out.

Our grandboys had such a good time at the Halloween Party yesterday.  Wylie was very hesitant at the whole "Trick-or-Treating" idea.  With lots of coaching from my daughter he eventually got the idea and was saying, "Thank-you" more than "Trick-or-Treat".  Connor was just as sweet as can be.  Next year he'll be able to enjoy it more.

On a side note...on Tuesday my Ghost White Treat Bags were mentioned on Denami Design FB Page...it so made my day!  I gave the treats to the ladies yesterday at the Halloween Party and they loved them=)  It even lead to one of the ladies wanting to place an order with me...now talk about making my day!!!

Thank-you for stopping by, I hope you have a great weekend!

Welcome to Your New Home...

This is my entry for this month's SFYTT.  I have to say Jen's sketch challenges are my favorite and I make sure to play along every month!
I made this for a new neighbor that moved in a couple houses up the cul-de-sac from us.  I plan to bake for them tonight and deliver the goodies and greet them tomorrow=)
The house stamp is a $1 stamp from Michael's.  I stamped on the opposite side of the paper that I wanted to use and cut it out.  Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup Paper.  I took a Quickie Glue Pen around the embossed edge of the nestie and added some glitter to give it a little sparkle.  Denami Design Button (my fav), Twine, sentiment from CTMH Solos "W" Set.

My daughter's on school break for a couple of weeks so I'm enjoying the extra time in my craft room=)

Have a great day and as always thank-you for stopping by!

Orange You a Great Friend...

This is for a sweet friend of mine who stopped by yesterday to drop off a birthday present for me=)  It was totally unexpected.  She brought me flowers, a card, and a gift card to Applebee's. Thank-you Dawn!
I used this month's SFYTT for my layout.  Kraftin Kimmie Stamps is their sponsor this month, I just love their stamps!  I used Olivia Orange, stamping her in Momento ink on Neeneah Cardstock then colored with Copics.  Stickles on her dress and Smooch on the Oranges, Glaze pen on her Shoes.  I cut her out and put her on pop dots.  Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, Adornit, EP Dots and Stripes and Country Drive Paper, EK Punch, SU.  The inside says, "Orange you a great friend!"  Just love that sentiment...it came with the stamp=)
Thank-you so much for stopping by.  If you haven't entered, you have until tonight to enter my BIRTHDAY BLOGIVERSARY GIVEAWAY!  Have a wonderful week!

Lemonade???...

This week's Bellarific Friday Challenge was Summer.  I made this for my sister who could use a pick me up. Our brother is back in ICU.  He's having some complications from surgery for bladder cancer.  Unfortunately everything has fallen on my sister all at once=(
Anyhow, I stamped Elizabeth Lulu on Neenah with Momento Ink, coloring her with copics.  I added Smooch to the Lemonade sign, lace trim, and flowers in her hair.  Rose Romance and BG Lemonade paper, MS Punch, Doily, Nesties, and Denami Design Ribbon.  Inside says, (Viva Las Vegas Stamps) " If life gives you lemons, squeeze the juice into a water gun and shoot other people in the eyes."...she needed a laugh=)
I used this month's SFYTT.

Thank-you for stopping by.  Have a great weekend.

Hi...

This is for Denami Design Product Challenge #8.  I just love this Kitty.  It is too cute!  I stamped it on Neenah, inside of the Whimsical Oval Frame, coloring it with my Copics.  I used the Double Circle, stamping "HI" using Justrite Stampers.  I put some Glam Pink Stickles around the borders.  The patterned paper is Sandylion, I think?  Crumb Cake cardstock, CB Folder, Nesties, SU Circle Punches, and some Rhinestones.  My sketch is this months SFYTT.  I flipped it on it's side=)
Did anyone watch the last Oprah Show?  I just finished watching it...boy did I choke up and cry!
Thank-you so much for stopping by.  Have a great evening!

Baby Layla...

Our friends Colin and Andria had their first baby earlier this month.  Layla's nursery is done in Hot Pink Elephants, thought this card would be perfect=)
I stamped SU's Baby Steps in Melon Mambo.  My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup DSP.  My sketch is this months SFYTT.
Below is my gift to them.  A custom boppy cover with Layla's name embroidered on it.  They got the material at Joann's so I picked myself up some and sent it to my friend Renee to make for me.  She makes the cutest stuff!
Have a great weekend!

Congratulations LaMarr & Shylo...

My friend Shylo and her new husband LaMarr are expecting their first child together.  They recently found out they are having a boy and are naming him Cain.  I made them this card to congratulated them=)
I stamped Epectafellabella with Momento Ink on Neenah cardstock, coloring it in with my Copics.  This was my first time coloring ethnic skin tone after my copics hair & skin techniques class last month.  I think I did an ok job.  What do you think???  I think I still need to practice!  Anyhow, I added a glitter pen to the flowers on her skirt.  I used my new paper from The Little Yellow Bicycle, TWIG.  I just love the color combo they used!  Crumb Cake, Tempting Turquoise, and Old Olive cardstock, Denami Design Button, and Linen Thread.  My layout is from this month's SFYTT.  Thank-you for stopping by, have a great weekend!

Pink Penguins

I made this for one of my co-workers who recently had a baby and just came back to work.  I haven't gotten to see the precious bundle of joy yet, but I'm sure she is beautiful just like her mommy.
I used SFYTT sketch for February.  Denami Design Product Challenge #6 is Twine so I thought I'd give it a try.  I have to say, I kinda like it.  All the stamps I used are from Denami Design.  I stamped the Penguin (without balloon) with Momento Ink on SU's Very Vanilla Cardstock, coloring "her" in with Copics.  I filled in her belly with some pink Stickles, going over the other parts with Crystal Lacquer.  I used the Double Cirle, stamping it in Red and went inbetween the two lines with some Smooch.  I used the Medium Dot Circle Frame, stamping it in Pink and dotting over it with Stickles.  Bermuda Bay, Blushing Bride, and My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup Papers.  The Ribbon is from Denami Design and the Twine is from The Twinery.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Valentine's Day yesterday.  Have a fabulous day!

Hey Gorjuss...

Sorry I've been MIA, I've been super sick=(  I had a fever of 102 and was in bed for 6 days.  I got up Monday, went to work, came home and went right back to bed, and stayed there all Tuesday and Wednesday.  I'm feeling a bit better today but am not 100%.                           Anyhow, this is the first time I've inked up this Gorjuss Girl- Foxy from Sugar Nellie Stamps.  I won her for a World Card Making Day Challenge on Splitcoast in 2009.  I think the Gorjuss Girls are just that- Gorjuss!  I made her for my MIL's birthday, which was the 11th.  I colored her with Copics on Neenah Cardstock.  The DSP is Upsy Daisy Design.  I used Bazzill's Cardstock Strips, handy little things!  For my layout I used January's SFYTT.  Thank-you for stopping by.                      Keeping the families of the shooting victims that happened here in Tucson on Saturday in my thoughts and prayers.  My heart goes out to them.

3 of My Favorite Things...

For an extra special World Card Making Day Denami Design wanted to give a few lucky people the chance to have their cards featured in their InTouch Newsletter.  Since I needed to make a thank-you card for my in-laws, I thought I'd give it a go=)
I have very few supplies with me (I'm still out of town- 5 weeks down, just over 4 more to go).  I picked up these cute Puppies and Doghouse from  Denami Design at the stamp expo a couple weeks back.  Aren't they just adrable?  I had to get some more BG Max & Whiskers Paper, even tho I have some at home...you can never have too much BG Paper!  I colored the dogs to look like our 3 Chihuahua's, Chi Chi, Kahlua, and Corona.  I miss them (and the hubs) so much!  I cut out the Doghouse and poped it up by using rolled up pieces of adhesive from my ATG (thanks Nami for the tip!).  For my sketch I used SFYTT for this week.

Anyhow, I just have to say my inlaws have been awesome with this move and we appreciate it so much.  They kept our Chihuahua's for a couple weeks so my hubs could come up to ID to pack up our daughter's apartment and move her stuff to AZ.  They were also kind enough to help us out with gas money, not to mention lend us their truck and trailer.  I really don't know what we would've done without them.  We are so thankful and so very grateful for all that they've done!!!
I hope everyone had the chance to stamp this weekend.

A Field of Thanks...

The Greeting Farm is sponsoring this weeks SFYTT.  I flipped the sketch to the left.  I colored Quarterback Ian in with my prismacolor pencils on Bella's Bestest Paper.
This is for a couple in our car club.  (I also {heart} VW's!)   They are Steelers fans so I thought this image was perfect for them.  Anyhow, they gave my daughter a stroller combo that has two carseat bases, one for each car...where were these cool ideas when I had kids!?!?  We appreciate their kindness so much!  So, I'll be bringing it up to ID with me next week...and I'm so happy to say when I come home my daughter and grandsons will be as well...she's decided to move down here!!!  Have a great day everyone!

Lucy's Green at Heart

So, I'm trying to figure this blogging thing out, I have so much to learn!  For those that know me, know I am not good with computers...this is my 3rd attempt at making this post, let's hope it didn't post 3 times!
Anyhow, I made this card for a friend of mine who could use some cheering up.  The last few months have been a bit trying for her.  She's been amazingly strong through all that she's been through and I pray that she continues to be the tough gal that she is!
I inked up Lucy Ketto with Momento ink, colored her in with my Prismacolor pencils and OMS on Neenah cardstock.  I added Glamour Dust to her wings and skirt.  Marvy 6 petal flower punch (the blue one, it's a little big, lol) to make the flower.  Designer paper is Basic Grey's Green at Heart.  Sentiment by Stamping Bella.  Sketch is Card Patterns Sketches 75.

Glitter Crumbs

A thank-you card for my neighbor.  She brought me over orange Gerber Daisies and an orange shirt for my birthday.  They are the sweetest neighbors on our street!
I made this for Denami Designs Product Challenge #3 which is Glitter.  I stamped the background panel in chocolate chip then filled it in with Crystal Lacquer and sprinkled the image with glitter.  Denami Designs sells Crystal Lacquer with a fine tip that fits onto the bottle so you can basically write with the stuff...I love it!  For the main image I stamped it in chocolate chip, used my glue pen to go over it, then sprinkled the glitter on top.  I used Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla Cardstock and Denami Designs Chocolate Shimmer Paper.  Ribbon is by Stampin' Up.
The sketch is this weeks Sketch For You To Try.
Have a great Wednesday night, I'm looking forward to So You Think You Can Dance Tonight!  My vote is for Lauren=)
