You're one Tough Cookie...

For a very special friend of mine that has been going through a rough time.  Sometimes I don't always have the right words to let one know how much I care for them and hope that they are ok when things get tough...that's when I make a card in hopes that it will brighten their day.
You're a Tough Cookie...

I had actually bought this stamp set for this person for the other sentiment it came with, however the year took a turn for them and "you're one tough cookie" was appropriate.  I stamped my image with memento ink, coloring it with copics, then die cutting it and layering it on a coordinating Pool Party die cut.  I layered a piece of Echo Park Paper on a white card base, then added a white strip of card stock with orange polka dot Denami Design Ribbon.  I stamped my sentiment then die cut it with My Favorite Things Fishtail Foundation die-namics and added Rhinestones to finish off the card.

Thank you for having a look!

Thank You Bev & Hot Husband...

I co-lead a weekly bike ride for Cyclefit Solutions.  We have our regulars that live here that attend each week.  Then we have our snowbirds/seasonal regulars that attend while they're here.  Bev and Hot Husband (that is what she refers to her husband as, so that is what I shall call him, hehe) are our seasonal attendees.  They brought me Zebra water bottles from their local bike shop in Tennessee.  I was over the moon to receive these.  The zebra is the mascot for my condition.  When anyone gives me anything Zebra, it just touches my heart.  I made them this card to thank them for the water bottles.  They love tacos and are always on the hunt for a great taco shop.
Thank You Bev & Hot Husband...
I again used the current at the time MFTWSC688.  I started out running my panel through the die cut machine using the A2 Stitched Rectangle Stax die-namics.  Then I stenciled the bricks using the MFT Small Brick Wall Stencil with Versmagic Chalk Ink Sahara Sand and Wheat.  I blended in some Copper Clay for the ground.  I stamped the MFT Tiddly Inks Sweet Senorits in Memento ink, coloring her with copics and die cutting her with the coordinating die-namics.  I stamped my image on white card stock using the MFT Fishtail Flags die-namics.  Mounted in on a white layer with foam strips.  White card stock, red and green ribbon added to the card base, then layered my panel on top.
Thank You Bev & Hot Husband...

Huggabugg Well Wishes...

A card order for my friend Wendy for her grandmother.  I actually made this a couple of weeks ago but am just getting around to posting it.  Wendy went through my SCS Gallery and saw this card.  She asked if I could keep the sketch, change up the papers and change flowers to ladybugs.  This is what I came up with...

I stamped Fluey Huggabugg by Christy Croll in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I used Prismacolor Pencils and OMS for shading.  Stickles on the wings.  Crystal Lacquer on the ice pack.  I off set the image when I cut it out with my Nesties to have room for the Ladybugs.  Melon Mambo, Black, and EP Country Drive paper.  MS Border Punch, SU Photo Corner Punch.  Sentiment from Hambo Stamps.  My layout is from Paper Crafts.

Thank-you for stopping by.  Enjoy your day!

Retro Birthday Wishes...

I think one of the hardest things for me is giving my posts/cards a "title".  I just sit and stare at the computer screen...blank...does anyone else have the same problem?  I don't know why I have such a issue giving my cards/posts titles but I do, lol.

Anyhow, this is for Tiddly Ink Challenge #83- Birthday Bash.  I'm using one of Christy's Digi Freebies called Ellie.  She's printed out on Neenah, colored with copics.  I did the "out of the box" technique with Nesties then added Smooch and  Crytal Lacquer to the balloons and a Glaze Pen to her.  Sahara Sand, My Mind's Eye Follow Your Heart paper.  CB Folder, SU Photo Corner Punch, Sentiment from The Cat's Pajamas.  I just came across retro sketches last night while reading my google reader, they have some fun sketches.  I used rs6 for my layout.

Thank-you for stopping by.  Have a great week.

Bellariffic Friday and SSSC150...

For one of my customers.  She requested pink hair, a pink bow, and the MME paper.
For this weeks Bellariffic Friday Challenge, to use your favorite stamp.  I don't really have a "favorite" anymore and hear myself saying, "this is one of my favorites".  So, I used one of my favorite stamps Everyday Princess by Christy Croll.  I stamped my image on Neenah in Memento Ink, coloring with Copics.  I used Stickles for the gems and the heart on her shirt and a glaze pen on all the "silver" stuff and her shoes then fussy cut her out.  Crumb Cake, Denami Design Magenta, and MME Lost & Found Paper.  CB Folder, Nesties, SU Photo Corner Punch, and Denami Design Raspberry Ribbon

My customer also requested a couple of cards of mine that she had seen in my gallery on SCS.  Since I already made them before, I didn't want to make a seperate blogpost for them, but wanted to post them to show the changes in my coloring skills from September until now.

This is the card that I made for my customer.  I ran out of the blue flower so I made my own with one of my cricut cartridges and the MME paper.

This is the original card that she saw in my gallery and wanted me to duplicate for her.

I know they are just subtle coloring differences but I feel I've improved ever so slightly...what do you think?  Do you have a card preference?

Thank-you for stopping by.  I hope ya'll have a great weekend!

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas...

This will be my oldest grandson Wylie's Christmas Card.  The Bellarific Friday challenge is a Holiday Card.  I used CPS#246 which Stamping Bella is sponsoring this week.  I stamped King of the Candy Canes by Christy Croll from Stamping Bella in Memento Ink, coloring with Copics.  I used Stickles on his hat and stocking and fussy cut him out since I oversaturated.  I had to restamp the candy cane, colored it, cut it out and put it ontop of the messy one.  Thank-you to Jen Del Muro for that lil' tip several weeks ago!  Wild Wasabi, Cherry Cobbler, and EP Holly Jolly Christmas Paper.  Marvy Snowflake Punch, Bella's Baubles and Bella Dots.  Sentiment by A Muse.  I'll also be linking my card up to Tiddly Ink Challenge #74- Anything Goes.
Thank-you for stopping by.  I hope ya'll have a great weekend.  I'm off to physical therapy (oh fun).

Candy Cane King...

Oh what fun did I have last night seeing Breaking Dawn with my daughter and girlfriends! (the 3:30 bedtime was a bit rough, lol).  Now I can't wait for the second part of the movie to come out to find out what happens...I think I may have to read the books after the Holidays=)  The girls loved their Edward cards and got a lil' giggle from them too=)
Anyhow, let's talk about my card...this will be my youngest grandson Connor's Christmas Card=)  This is a Christy Croll image, King of the Candy Canes from Stamping Bella.  This card does triple duty for challenges...my entry for the Bellarific Friday Challenge (a sketch challenge), Tiddly Inks Challenge #73- Anything Goes and Echo Park's FB Holiday Project Contest.

I stamped King of the Candy Canes in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I oversaturated the paper and had some bleeding out issues at his feet.  Rather than take the time to try to clean up my mess and risk ruining my image, I just fussy cut him out=)  I used stickles on his crown and stocking.  Went over his crown and candy cane with a glaze pen and the star with a glitter pen.  Island Indigo, Peach Parfait, Echo Park Holly Jolly Christmas Paper, CB Snowflake Folder, Twine, Denami Design Buttons, SU Linen Thread.

Thank-you so much for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

The Mummy, The Witch, and The Pirate...

Sorry I've been MIA.  I went to CA for my brother's memorial service.  I'm very thankful to my hubs for taking the time off of work to take care of our grandboys so that I was able to make the trip out for the memorial service.
Anyhow, I made this for my oldest grandson, Wylie (he's 2 1/2 yrs).  He's going to be a Pirate for Halloween.  All this week we've been working with him to say, "Trick or Treat" and of course all Pirates have to know how to say "Arrrgh"=)
This is also my entry for this week's Bellarific Friday Challenge which is a sketch challenge.  I used The Mummy, The Witch, and The Pirate by Christy Croll.  I stamped my image on Neenah with Memento Ink, coloring with Copics, highlighting with a glaze pen and Smooch.  Crumb Cake, Black, and Echo Park Apothecary Paper, SU Punches, Denami Design Ribbbon and Buttons, Sentiment by Lockhart Stamp Co.

Thank-you so much for stopping by.  Have a great weekend!

For Arlene...

Arlene's birthday was earlier this week, she's a sweet Bella Sistah of mine=)  I made this card for her, which amazingly enough arrived on her birthday.  I don't know how I managed that timing!  I used SC320 for my layout and entered this is for Stamping Bella's Bellarific Friday Challenge, which was to use a stamp that hasn't seen ink before.  I love this Alice stamp, I think she's so adorable!  I used the new My Mind's Eye Line- Stella & Rose and I am loving it!  This part of the collection is called "Gertie".  Anyhow, I inked Alice up in Momento in, stamping her on Neenah Cardstock and coloring her in with Copics, sponging around her with Versamagic Wheat Ink.  I paper pieced her teacup.  I added a glaze pen to her headband and shoes.  Cherry Cobbler Cardstock, Denami Design Ribbon and Button and SU Linen Thread.
Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you'll support me on Monday, World Rare Disease Day and wear Zebra Stripes to raise awareness for Ehlers-Danlos Sydrome.  Have a fabulous weekend!

A Double Thank-you...

This image is SO SPECIAL to me.  I emailed Christy Croll from Tiddly Inks and asked if she would design a Zebra Stamp.  I explained to her that like the Pink Ribbon is to Breast Cancer, the Zebra is to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.  It's a rare genetic connective tissue disorder I was diagnosed with a year and a half ago.  Christy got back to me immediately and said she'd  be happy to update a Zebra image she had and email it to me.  I honestly cried as I read her email.  I've hunted and searched for Zebra Stamps and haven't been able to find one that suited "my style".  This lil' guy is PERFECT=)  Christy, I appreciate you updating this image for me!  Thank-You for all the time you put into it, it means the world to me.
So now that I told you about the story behind the image, I'll tell you about my card.  A friend of mine had a snuggie and I mentioned I was on the hunt for a Zebra one with no luck.  Right around Christmas she got me one=)  I'm so blessed to have such sweet friends!  So, I made this card to thank her for my zebra snuggie=)
I printed out Christy Croll's Zebra on Recollections Paper and used Stickles to "color" it in.  I used Nesties, SU Punch, and some random buttons.  The sentiment is SU Much Appreciated.  The Zebra Paper is Vellum over a White Cardstock base.  I'm also entering my card into Tiddly Ink's Just Be Me Challenge...since "I'm a Zebra" =)
If you're still with me after my long post, I hope ya'll enjoy your weekend!

Happy New Year...

I'm checking off my card to do list...two posts today=)  I made this card for Tiddly Inks New Year Card Event.  Christy was kind enough to supply this lil' guy as a digi freebie...(thanks Christy) isn't he just adorable!  This is the first time I've ever used a digital image.  My dear hubs had to help me figure out the size settings and we had a bit of a paper issue.  Our printer wouldn't feed my Neenah Cardstock =(  So, this lil' guy had to be printed on GP Cardstock, sigh.  I colored him in with Copics.  The DSP is American Crafts, Jolly.  The sentiment is also a free digi from Tiddly Inks (thanks again Christy!)  I used this weeks SC313
Have a great night and thanks Hun for your help!
