Caffeinated Thanks...

I made this for my dear friend Lisa.  She was kind enough to look around her town and find me some corn relish for a recipe that I'm craving.  You can only get it at H-E-B and I don't have one where I live.  Lisa loves her Starbucks coffee...so I made her a coffee card to thank her for the care package and got her a Starbucks gift card.

I started out with a Sahara Sand card base.  I used Echo Park Paper's Homemade paper.
Stamping Bella's Perk Me Up Peeps stamped on Neenah, with Memento ink, colored with Copics.  I Colored the Peeps to look like me and Lisa.  The one in the dress is Lisa (she's always wearing dresses) and the other one is me.  I paper pieced the latte.  I used a copic around the late and to ground the latte, and a versamagic chalk ink in wheat around the whole image.  I had a new wheat ink pad...my ink went on darker than I liked it so I took a copic colorless blender and thinned it out.  The sentiment it from Krafting Kimmie's Kimmie's Coffee Sentiments.

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a great weekend!

Happy 1st Anniversary to the Meyer's!!!

Wishing one of my fellow spouse's and her husband a Happy 1st Anniversay!  It breaks my heart that they are spending it apart=(  Her husband is currently deployed and she is doing such a great job handling everything...a new marriage, deployment, school, and a new baby!  My deployed spouse asked me if I would make her a card to send to her hubby.  They have a fun sense of humor, (and she really liked this stamp!) so this is what I came up with...

This is for KKS163 Something Old, Something New (kind of fitting, eh?) Challenge.  My something old is my stamp, I've had it for a couple of years now.  My something new is the paper from Bo Bunny, I got it a couple weeks ago on my monthly/bi-monthly 300 mile round trip to the nearest scrapbook store=)  There's just something about going to the scrapbook store and picking out your papers that I love...holding them, feeling them, and ahhh...and smelling them, I love the smell of scrapbook paper!  Anyhow, I started out stamping Drucilla  in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I added flat pearls to the "needles"=).  Tim Holtz Scattered Straw and Vintage Photo Distress Ink for the sponging.  Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Black Card Stock, Die-Namics, SU Square Punch, Rhinestone, and sentiment also from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

  Thank-you for stopping by.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

"Happy Hunger Games!!!"

"...and may the odds be ever in your favor."  Yes, I'm reading The Hunger Games...currently on the 3rd book.  I must say it is a good read.  Anyhow, I made this card for Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge 124, which is an Inspiration Challenge.  Using rs#7 for my layout.

The inspiration I took from the photo was the picture hanging on the back wall.  Every time I looked at the photo my eye was drawn to that picture.  I just love it!  I started out stamping Artemis (Katniss, hehe) in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I went over her bow and arrow with a Glitter Pen and her head dress with a Glaze Pen.  I stamped the tree from SU's Branch Out in Crumb Cake, then used Soft Sky and Pool Party for the foliage.  Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo for the sponging and edges.  Denami Design Ribbon and Button, SU Linen Thread.

Thank-you for stopping by.  Have a wonderful evening!

I made this for a friend of mine who's Birthday is tomorrow.  I hope she likes it=)

This is for Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge #120 which is a sketch challenge.  I stamped Francesca in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I added a Glaze Pen to her hair clips, button on her hat, shoes, and candles.  Smooch to her tights, ruffle on her skirt, and the flames on the candles.  Denami Design Glitter on the cupcakes.  Shading on her hat, dress and ground done with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  Blush Blossoms, Pool Party, and Echo Park Graceful paper, Stamping Bella Sentiment, SU Photo Corner Punch, Denami Design Ribbon and Buttons, SU Linen Thread.

Tomorrow I'm taking a Prismacolor Pencil Class from Tony Medaris, I'm looking so forward to it!!!  He's a local southwest artist.  He's not Paula Williamson...who I've dreamed of taking a Prismacolor Class from, but I'm still really excited.  Then tomorrow night I'm going to see The Hunger Games with some of the gals from my book club...can't wait!!!

You're Stuck With Me...

Ahhh, I love a bit of humor...this will be my Valentine for my hubs=)  Drucilla is one of my favorite images from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and one of the first images I purchased.  For this weeks Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge 113 we were to do handmade embellishments.  I know the flower isn't all that creative, ah well.  I started off stamping my image in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I used a glaze pen on her bows, barettes, her shoes, heart on the bear, the pins and topped the pins with mini pearls.  The shading around her and the ground is done with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  The shading on the edges is done with Tim Holtz Old Paper Distress Ink.  SU Photo Corner punch for my tag, Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers, Die-Namics Rolled Flower topped with a pearl for my flower.  The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie Sassy Sentiments Set.  Bravo Burgundy, Crumb Cake, and EP Times & Seasons paper.  For my layout I used the current SSSC151.

Thank-you so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!

The Lucky One...

My book club read The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks for December.  It was pretty good, except how the book ended.  I won't ruin it for anyone who hasn't read it, but it just seemed rushed to me.  Anyhow, I made this for Lauren, our hostess to thank her for opening up her home and hosting the meeting for us.
This week's Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge 112 is In the Spotlight.  We were to highlight an area of the stamp or only use part of the stamp.  I decided to just use part of the stamp.  It worked perfect for this months SFYTT.  Lauren's decor was Chocolate and blueish aqua, that's where my color inspiration came from=)  I started off stamping Lucy in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with my copics.  I sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo and Old Paper Distress Inks.  Chocolate Chip, Denami Design Aqua Shimmer and MME Stella & Rose (Mabel) paper, Nesties, MME, SU, and Michael's Ribbons.  The photo seems a bit off but the colors match a lot better in person=(

Thank-you so much for stopping by, have a great day!

Thank-you Stephanie...

Whew, there's been lots of activity going on in my neighborhood the last 12 hours...since I'm a light sleeper, I didn't sleep but 2 hours last night and won't be able to sleep until the helicopter has stopped searching.  I hope it ends soon!
Well, lets move onto more cheerful subjects...  I made this for our book club hostess, Stephanie.  I wanted to thank her for opening up her home to everyone on Sunday=)
So...as I'm posting my card I realize this is my first time playing along in a Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge.  Gasp, I know!  This week is a sketch challenge.  I started off stamping Lucy in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics, adding some Smooch to her pillow.  Black and BG Out of Print Paper, Tim Holtz Scattered Straw Distress Ink, Nessties, Die-namics, SU Photo Corner Punch, Ribbon, and Rhinestones.

I hope ya'll have a great day!

Orange You a Great Friend...

This is for a sweet friend of mine who stopped by yesterday to drop off a birthday present for me=)  It was totally unexpected.  She brought me flowers, a card, and a gift card to Applebee's. Thank-you Dawn!
I used this month's SFYTT for my layout.  Kraftin Kimmie Stamps is their sponsor this month, I just love their stamps!  I used Olivia Orange, stamping her in Momento ink on Neeneah Cardstock then colored with Copics.  Stickles on her dress and Smooch on the Oranges, Glaze pen on her Shoes.  I cut her out and put her on pop dots.  Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, Adornit, EP Dots and Stripes and Country Drive Paper, EK Punch, SU.  The inside says, "Orange you a great friend!"  Just love that sentiment...it came with the stamp=)
Thank-you so much for stopping by.  If you haven't entered, you have until tonight to enter my BIRTHDAY BLOGIVERSARY GIVEAWAY!  Have a wonderful week!

Hot Air Balloon Lady Bug Lovin' Lady...

Well not really, lol.  I had a request to make a card for my friends (Wendy) Grandma who's birthday is on Valentine's Day.  The card had to have a Hot Air Balloon- check.  A Lady Bug- hmmm, how about some BG Lemonade Paper?  And an Old Lady wearing a Purple Dress and a Red Hat- well, no check on the "old lady" part, but I did have Francesca from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  As I sat on the computer instant messaging with Wendy, getting each detail one by one I was thinking hmm, what am I going to do for this card?  By the time I got all the "must have's" for the card, I knew exactly what I was going to do.  Wendy was pleased with how it turned out and I hope her grandmother is as well.  Wendy said her grandmother makes cards too and all the cards her grandmother sends her have a hidden lady bug somewhere on the card.  I kind of like how there's "hidden" lady bugs on the hot air ballons=)
Anyhow, I stamped Francesca on Neenah cardstock with Momento ink, coloring her with Copic Markers.  I added a glitter pen to the frosting on the cupcakes and a glaze pen to the candles.  SU Rhinestones and Punch.   Denami Design Ribbon and the Hot Air Ballon is from Verve Stamps.
Thank-you for stopping by.  Have a fabulous week!

A Girl's Gotta Have Fun...

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is this weeks sponsor for  Card Positioning Systems.  Her lil' smirk and the fun she's having with her voodoo doll is priceless!
I kept the card pretty simple.  I stamped her on Neenah cardstock, colored her in with my copics.  No glitter, sparklies, or shiny stuff...gasp!  Denami Design ribbon, love their ribbon!
This is for my daughter, I hope she gets a good laugh when she gets it.  Have a great day!
