Got Twins???

I'm still trying to get my blogging caught up from last years card creations, so here's another quick post...
I made this card for my book club friend who was having twin boys, she loves elephants so I thought the Elephant from Denami Design would be perfect.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

On the Island...

Our book club read On the Island by Tracey Garvis Grave.  I have to say it was one great book!  I couldn't put it down, staying up one night until 2:30 am to finish it.  It was one of those books that had you laughing, crying, and held you in suspense.  I highly recommend it.  I made this card to thank Brittany, our hostess for this month.  She held our book club meeting on Saturday right after she threw a baby shower for our friend Lauren.  It was a jam packed day!

I stamped Reading Flopsey in Momento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I used a Glaze Pen on his Glasses.  Crumb Cake and BG Out of Print paper.  Die-namics Pretty Posies, Denami Design Buttons, SU Linen Thread, SU Photo Corner Punch, Sentiment from PI Soldier Boy.  My entry for this weeks MFTWSC79.

Bedtime Stories...

For my friend Brittany to thank her for hostessing this months book club meeting. It was quite the meeting...we read "Fifty Shades of Grey" by E.L. James.  Most of us read all three books, while others found it hard to get through the first.  It is most definitely a read for a "mature audience".  I personally liked the trilogy, I couldn't put the books down I just had to know what was going to happen next.  I was let down with the 3rd book, I thought it was all over the place and felt she was a bit bored or got tired of writing the story.  Having said that, I still enjoyed the trilogy as a whole and would read them all over again.  Anyhow, onto my card...

My entry for MFTWSC68.  I got my order from MFT a couple days ago (which I have to say they are super fast with their processing and shipping!) and had to color this lil' gal up.  She's my first A' la Mode.  I started off stamping Here's the Story A' la Mode in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  Early Espresso, Authentique Gathering paper, Die-Namics Open Scallop Edge and Pretty Posies, Sentiment from WTG Well Read Set, SU Photo Corner Punch, Felt, Denami Design Button and SU Baker's Twine.  My finished card is a 5x5 square which I don't usually do but it worked best for the sketch.

Thank-you for stopping by.  Hope you have a great day!  I'm off to get my teeth cleaned=)

Thank-you Lynette...

Happy Easter Everyone.  I hope ya'll had a fabulous day with your loved ones.  We went to brunch at my oldest grandson Wylie's favorite place to eat, IHOP=)  I made this card for a gal in my book club, Lynette to thank her for hosting our book club meeting.  We read Memoirs of a Geisha which is one of my favorite books.  I think I've read it 3 or 4 times now.  I'm really enjoying getting back into reading, it's been so long!  I finally broke down and bought a Kindle Fire two weeks ago.  I'm reading my 3rd book on it right now...I really like the convenience of downloading and having the book at your fingertips in seconds.  I think my hubs likes that I can read in bed until 12 or 1 o'clock in the morning and not have the light on to disturb him while he sleeps.  Definitely one of my favorite things I've spent money on=) (well besides crafty stuff of course!).

I started out staming my image (sure do wish I had the MFT PI Good Fortune, it would've been perfect for this card!) with Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics and using Nesties and Die-Namics Dizzy Doily Duo.  I paper pieced her pants, shirt, pillows and book.  Sahara Sand and Basic Grey Out of Print paper.  Sentiment from SU Noteworthy Stamp set, SU Photo Corner Punch and Border Punch, Denami Design Rhinestones.  My layout is this weeks MFTWSC66.

Thank-you for stopping by.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Congratulations Lauren...

One of my friends, Lauren recently found out that her and her husband are expecting.  I made her this card to congratulate her.  I thought that she was having a girl with how sick she's been, so I went for more girly colors...but she announced at our book club meeting that she just found out she was having a boy=)

This is for the Bellariffic Friday Challenge which is a Sketch Challenge.  I started off stamping Bessie LuLu  in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I used Prismacolor Pencils and OMS for the ground and shading on her dress and flowers.  Glaze Pen on her shoes and flowers.  Wisteria Wonder, Pear Pizzaz and MME Miss Caroline Fiddlesticks paper.  Die-Namic Rolled Flower, Rhinestone, Swiss Dot CB Folder, Denami Design Ribbon and Button, SU Linen Thread, Sentiment from Stamping Bella, leaves I hand cut.

Vampire Hunter...

I made this card to thank our book club hostess for having us in her home for our meeting this month.  We read Abraham Lincoln; Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahme-Smith.  It was a pretty good book, extremely detailed, with a couple of scenes in the book that are so descriptive I think they'll forever be etched in my mind.  With that said, I am looking forward to seeing the movie when it comes out in June.

I'm just barely getting my card in for this week's MFTWSC60.  I started out stamping my image from Well Read in Memento Ink onto a piece of BG Indie Bloom, then used a nestie.  I did a second nestie the same size in white and trimmed off the excess.  I paper pieced the pillows, book, and the gal (after coloring her on a piece of Neenah with Copics).  I didn't have the Die-Namic used for the top piece that has my sentiment so I used a SU Punch I've had for years (and can't remember the name).  Rose Red, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade cardstock, Die-Namics Dizzy Doily Duo, Die-Namics Open Scallop Edge and sentiment from Noteworthy.

I hope you'll support me on World Rare Disease Day, February 29th by wearing Zebra Stripes to help raise awareness for the rare genetic connective tissue disorder I have, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.  I also have a small little blog candy I'm giving away to honor the day, all you have to do is comment on this post.

Thank-you for stopping by, have a great day!

Congratulations Stephanie!!!

This was for my friend Stephanie's baby shower last Sunday.  She's due on Valentine's Day, which was the day my 1st grandson was due...so I'm looking forward to seeing what day her lil' guy arrives=)
I made this card for this week's Bellariffic Friday Challenge, which was a sketch challenge.  I stamped Teddybella in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  Paper piecing her gift bags and purse.  Lucky Limeade and EP Little Boy paper.  SU Photo Corner punch, Die-Namics Stacking Stars and nesties.

Thank-you for stopping by.  I hope ya'll have a great weekend!

The Lucky One...

My book club read The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks for December.  It was pretty good, except how the book ended.  I won't ruin it for anyone who hasn't read it, but it just seemed rushed to me.  Anyhow, I made this for Lauren, our hostess to thank her for opening up her home and hosting the meeting for us.
This week's Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge 112 is In the Spotlight.  We were to highlight an area of the stamp or only use part of the stamp.  I decided to just use part of the stamp.  It worked perfect for this months SFYTT.  Lauren's decor was Chocolate and blueish aqua, that's where my color inspiration came from=)  I started off stamping Lucy in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with my copics.  I sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo and Old Paper Distress Inks.  Chocolate Chip, Denami Design Aqua Shimmer and MME Stella & Rose (Mabel) paper, Nesties, MME, SU, and Michael's Ribbons.  The photo seems a bit off but the colors match a lot better in person=(

Thank-you so much for stopping by, have a great day!

Thank-you Stephanie...

Whew, there's been lots of activity going on in my neighborhood the last 12 hours...since I'm a light sleeper, I didn't sleep but 2 hours last night and won't be able to sleep until the helicopter has stopped searching.  I hope it ends soon!
Well, lets move onto more cheerful subjects...  I made this for our book club hostess, Stephanie.  I wanted to thank her for opening up her home to everyone on Sunday=)
So...as I'm posting my card I realize this is my first time playing along in a Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge.  Gasp, I know!  This week is a sketch challenge.  I started off stamping Lucy in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics, adding some Smooch to her pillow.  Black and BG Out of Print Paper, Tim Holtz Scattered Straw Distress Ink, Nessties, Die-namics, SU Photo Corner Punch, Ribbon, and Rhinestones.

I hope ya'll have a great day!

The Christmas Cookie Club...

So, I joined a book club last month=)  I'm happy to get back into reading.  Our pick was The Christmas Cookie Club by Ann Pearlman.  We decided to do a cookie exchange along with the book club meeting.  I won't go into detail about the book, but after reading it, I knew I couldn't show up to the book club meeting with my cookies in a ziplock bag, lol.

So, I put together 10 of these little tags really quick.  My tags are 2 3/4 x 4 inches.  I corner rounded the bottom and used a knotch type punch for the top.  I stamped Harriet Lulu in Memento on GP, layered on Black.  Stamped the sentiment from Four the Holidays in Memento on the bottom of the tag.  Marvy Snowflake Punch, Black Stickles, Circle Punch, Denami Design Ribbon and Button.

My cookies all packaged up=)  I made Cranberry Hootycreeks.

Thank-you for stopping by.  I hope you're having a great day!
