Sabrina Smiles...

I posted on my facebook yesterday that I was updating my address book and if anyone would like a card from me, please send me your address.  Since I was all caught up with my birthday cards for the month, I wanted to RAK everyone with a card who responded to the post.  My sweet friend Sabrina was the first to respond.  She such a sweet gal.  We know each other from our military spouse days.  I was the squadron's key spouse.  She invited me to her graduation, her husband invited me to his ALS Graduation, she's supported me with wearing stripes for Ehlers Danlos Awareness Day and has even brought me Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream when I was on bed rest after a tendon replacement.  I'm thankful to have been there for her and have her there for me as well.

When I was going through my stamps, I saw this Gossmere by Christy Croll from Stamping Bella that I've had for years and never used...I knew I had to ink it up for Sabrina.  I stamped her in memento ink, on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I have no idea how to do pleats, I just kind of winged it.  I used prismacolored pencils to give a little more shading.  Added a clear star gel pen for detail on the crown.  Sahara Sand and Bermuda Bay Card Stock, sentiment from A Muse, topped it off with some rhinestones.

Thinking of You My Friend...

My dear friend Jackie is having surgery tomorrow.  I made her this card to let her know I'm thinking of her and if she needs anything to call me.

I started out stamping Call Me Peep from Stamping Bella in Memento Ink on Neenah card stock, then coloring the image with copics.  I used Clear Star gel pen on the dial and a Glaze pen on the buttons to add some dimension.  I used Crisp Cantaloupe as my base, layering with white, sponging the edges with VersaMagic Wheat Chalk Ink.  The paper is My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline.  Sentiment is A Muse.  I used SC786 for my layout.

Sparkly Snowflakes... #KindnessChallenge

I made this to thank the person who lent me their knee scooter while I was recovering from surgery.  For some reason this time around my insurance company didn't cover it, we were fighting with them to cover the cost as I was going in for surgery.  When I came out of surgery my hubs told me that an email went out at his work and someone we didn't know offered to lend me theirs.  I welled up with tears.  I wasn't sure how I was going to get around for 3 months without it.  Inside was a gift certificate to thank him for his kindness =)

I kept it very simple.  Sentiment is from A Muse.  I got the ornament from Walmart, attaching it with a brad.

Fancy Grubbin'...

I made these cards for some pretty amazing people!!!  These went out to all the wonderful people who made my hubs and I meals while I was on bedrest recovering from surgery #2.  I honestly don't know what I would've done without them...  Not too bad for making these in bed, eh?

Fancy Grubbin'...

I used a Very Vanilla card base, crumb cake card stock.  I stamped the silverware from A Muse in crumb cake and the sentiment from SU's Because I Care in Soft Sky.  Ribbon is from Michael's.

I'm currently 17 weeks post op.  I'm in physical therapy twice a week building up my strength and stability in my ankle.  I have a long way to go until I'm fully recovered (Dr says a year at least) but look forward to the day where I'm not walking with a limp and am able to return to my fitness classes and run again!

Thank you for peeking at my blog today, I appreciate it!
Have a terrific day!

I hosted a spouse's meeting where we had a personal trainer from a local gym teach us HIIT and kickboxing. I unfortunately had an unexpected family emergency and wasn't able to attend :(  Anyhow, I wanted to invite all the women from my husband's work so I made each of them an invitation to join us for the evening.

Thinking of You...

I made a handful of these cards for my deployed spouse's.  I'm a key spouse and one of my responsibilities is to check on spouse's while their loved one is deployed.  One way I like to do that is send them a card to let them know I'm thinking of them.

Have a great evening, thanks for stopping by!

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas...

This will be my oldest grandson Wylie's Christmas Card.  The Bellarific Friday challenge is a Holiday Card.  I used CPS#246 which Stamping Bella is sponsoring this week.  I stamped King of the Candy Canes by Christy Croll from Stamping Bella in Memento Ink, coloring with Copics.  I used Stickles on his hat and stocking and fussy cut him out since I oversaturated.  I had to restamp the candy cane, colored it, cut it out and put it ontop of the messy one.  Thank-you to Jen Del Muro for that lil' tip several weeks ago!  Wild Wasabi, Cherry Cobbler, and EP Holly Jolly Christmas Paper.  Marvy Snowflake Punch, Bella's Baubles and Bella Dots.  Sentiment by A Muse.  I'll also be linking my card up to Tiddly Ink Challenge #74- Anything Goes.
Thank-you for stopping by.  I hope ya'll have a great weekend.  I'm off to physical therapy (oh fun).

Santa's Clothes...

Last year I participated for most of the year in Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge, however this year I have slacked terribly.  I'm not sure I will be able send out homemade cards at this point=(

Anyhow this is my entry for SCCC48 which is to use Liquid Applique.  It's also my entry for this weeks Bellarific Friday Challenge, to use Snow on your card.  I loved Clean & Simple Stamping Sketch 164 so much I used it again for my card.

I stamped Santa's Clothes a Dryin' in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with my copics.  I outlined the image with a glitter pen.  I used Liquid Applique on the Snowflake, Santa Hat and Pants and made some Snow on the ground.  I sprinkled the Liquid Applique with Glamour Dust then heated it to make it puff up.  Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake cardstock, A Muse Sentiment, Button and Linen Thread.

I hope you all have a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping by.

Purple Pixie...

For a dear sweet friend of mine...she came to my rescue a couple of weeks ago and sent me her reinker when my retired SU ink pad started to go dry.  I was in the middle of making 40 Baptism Cards for a friend and seriously started to have a panic attack!  My dear sweet friend (Shannon) saved my day and I was able to finish the Baptism Cards with a nice juicy ink pad=)  Shannon loves the color purple.  To thank her for saving me, I sent her a couple of purple handmade goodies that Karen has on consignment at our store=)
I entered my card in this weeks Bellarific Friday Challenge.  The theme was Mother's Day.  This works for me=)  I also used this weeks Card Patterns Sketch 112.  I stamped my Pixie in Momento Ink on Neenah Cardstock, coloring her in with Copics.  I used Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Bermuda Bay and My Mind's Eye new line, Lime Twist.  Nesties, Die-namics, Denami Ribbon, and the sentiment is from A Muse Stamps.
Thank-you so much for stopping by, have a wonderful weekend!

Sparkle's Challenge, Week#7

Two post for me in one day, yay!  I'm trying to play catch up since I got so far behind on challenges when I was sick.  It's really important to me to stay up on Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenges, that way my Christmas Cards are done before Christmas and I'm not stressing over the Holidays=)  Our Challenge this week was a sketch challenge, my favorite!  I put this card together quickly this morning so I can get it in the challenge on time.  I used A Muse Stamps, BG Figgy Pudding, Nesties, Copics to highlight the Ice Skates and went over them with some Smooch.
I may be MIA next week.  I'll be prepping my house for Michelle Zindorf to come and teach her Brayering Class.  I'm so excited!  Well, I'm going to get my hair colored then I get to go to work in my jammies=)  Have a fabulous day!

Rootbeer Truffle...

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.  We had a nice Christmas morning watching our grandson Wylie open his presents.  I had the best gift of all, which was having my daughter and grandsons here with us.  We had a nice Christmas Dinner and have been spending the day hanging out together.                     We're now on week 3 of Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge.  Our challenge was to incorporate Holiday Travel into our card.  One of the guys that use to go to our VW Car Meet had a Golf that was the color of Rootbeer.  I loved it.  I picked up some Fancy Pants Hot Chocolate Paper at work the other day and thought it would go perfect for this challenge.  I colored in the A Muse Holiday Car with Copics on Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I embellished it with Smooch, Stickles, and a Glaze Pen. I used  SC312 and flipped it.                                   Thank-you for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your Christmas with your family!

Laughter is the best Medicine...

One of my hubs troops was admitted into the hospital on Thanksgiving Day=(  Thankfully he went to the ER...his appendix had ruptured a couple of days earlier.  They put in stints and in about 6 weeks he'll have to have his appendix removed.  Poor guy is still in the hospital so I wanted to make him a card to lift his spirits.
My card is CAS (clean and simple).  I used my Scor-Pal for the first time today to make the lines at the bottom and right side of my card.  I think there's a learning curve to using it, lol!  I colored the lil' Doctor in with Copics on Neenah Cardstock, layering him on Night of Navy.  Both stamps are from A Muse.  The ribbon and button are from Denami Design.
I hope ya'll have a great week!
