Thinking of You...
I made a handful of these cards for my deployed spouse's. I'm a key spouse and one of my responsibilities is to check on spouse's while their loved one is deployed. One way I like to do that is send them a card to let them know I'm thinking of them.

The Rainbow Will Come...
I made these card for my deployed spouse's. As a key spouse it's my duty to check up on my deployed spouse's once a month to make sure that they're doing ok and see if they need anything. I also like to send my deployed spouse's a card each month to let them know that I'm thinking about them and am here for them.
I was a little pushed for time so I kept these cards very CAS. I stamped MFT The Rainbow Will Come A la Mode in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics. I masked the umbrella and wellies with EP paper. Stamped the sentiment then used SU Corner Punch to make the tag, a button, and SU linen thread.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Have a great Sunday!

Hearts Apart...
Wishing those couples that can't be together today a Happy Valentine's Day, especially those that are deployed spouse's. I made my deployed spouse's these lil' cards for Valentine's Day. I was in such a rush to get them done I forgot to take a group picture of them=( My friend went in halves with me to buy all of the deployed spouses a box of chocolates, which of course I also forgot to take a picture of, sigh...
I started out stamping PI Love You With All My Heart in Memento Ink on Neenah. I paper pieced her dress and heart with EP Love Story. Melon Mambo, CB Folder, MFT Button, Die-Namic, Twine, Versamagic Wheat, Glaze Pen. This is my entry for Echo Park's FB Love Story Project Contest.
Thank-you EP for the Love Story Collection!
(I won it during the Winter CHA Blinkie Contest)
I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day and enjoys the day with their sweetheart!

Happy 1st Anniversary to the Meyer's!!!
Wishing one of my fellow spouse's and her husband a Happy 1st Anniversay! It breaks my heart that they are spending it apart=( Her husband is currently deployed and she is doing such a great job handling everything...a new marriage, deployment, school, and a new baby! My deployed spouse asked me if I would make her a card to send to her hubby. They have a fun sense of humor, (and she really liked this stamp!) so this is what I came up with...
This is for KKS163 Something Old, Something New (kind of fitting, eh?) Challenge. My something old is my stamp, I've had it for a couple of years now. My something new is the paper from Bo Bunny, I got it a couple weeks ago on my monthly/bi-monthly 300 mile round trip to the nearest scrapbook store=) There's just something about going to the scrapbook store and picking out your papers that I love...holding them, feeling them, and ahhh...and smelling them, I love the smell of scrapbook paper! Anyhow, I started out stamping Drucilla in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics. I added flat pearls to the "needles"=). Tim Holtz Scattered Straw and Vintage Photo Distress Ink for the sponging. Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Black Card Stock, Die-Namics, SU Square Punch, Rhinestone, and sentiment also from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

A Deployed Christmas...
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope ya'll have had a wonderful day spent with family and friends! My thoughts are with all the deployed service members and families of the deployed who can't spend today together. Sending thoughts and (((HUGS))) ya'lls way!
Sadly the only Christmas Cards I made and sent out this year were to my deployed spouses. The last few months have been so crazy for me. My daughter started working a new job with different hours, which means I have the grand boys all day. Needless to say trying to craft during that time has been very challenging, I get in what I can tho=) Anyhow, as I said these are for my deployes spouse's. As a key spouse one of my duties is to check up on them and make sure they're doing ok and see if they need anything during their spouse's deployement. One of the ways I like to do this is by sending them a card...lets them know I'm here for them and am thinking of them too=)

I started off with Neenah, Momento, and Copics. I fussy cut ALM Sparkling Season out, then paper pieced her ornament and added a glaze pen to her boots. Cherry Cobbler, Black, EP This & That Christmas paper, Marvy Snowflake Punch, SU Linen Thread, and a Button. My entry for RCC75, Holiday Spirit. I used MFTWSC99.
Last month I went to a dinner the base holds for all the deployed spouse's, it was my first one attending. I talked to several families to see how they were doing and handling the deployment. One spouse told me her husbands squadron bought the deployed spouse's tickets to their Christmas Party. I thought, hmmm...what a fabulous idea!!! So, I talked with my husband and asked him what he thought of me inviting our deployed spouses and purchasing their tickets (we only have a handful that are deployed, not several like other squadron's on the base so it wouldn't be finacially draining). Anyhow, a couple of the deployed spouses said they'd love to attend, it so made my night! I'm so glad they got out for the evening. Below are a couple of pictures from our Christmas party...

Autumn, Inspired by Me...
As many of you know, I'm a Key Spouse for my hubs squadron. One of my duties as a Key Spouse is to offer support for our deployed spouses. I check in on them to see if they need anything and make sure they're doing ok during their spouse's deployment. One of the ways I like to do this is by sending them a card each month. This is the card I made them for October (tho not all of them have gone postal). I made enough so I could send the "pre-deploying" spouse's a card too. I wanted to touch base with them to let them know I was thinking of them and I'm here if they had any questions or needed anything before their spouse's deployed.
A few weeks ago CAS-ual Fridays had a fun and unique challenge...to create something inspired by your blog header. Unfortunately I wasn't able to play along that week, but I still wanted to do the challenge when I had the time. So, what do you think? Does it resemble my blog header???
This is my first time playing along with the gals at the Less is More Challenge Blog.
This weeks challenge was Autumn.
I started out with an Early Espresso card base and ran it through my CB. I opened up my card, took a piece of tape to line up my sentiment (Die-namics High Rise Alphabet) and ran it through the CB again. I used the direct to paper technique with SU Whisper White. (If I do a card like this again, I will reverse step 2 & 3, direct to paper then run sentiment through CB). I used Die-namics Rolled Flowers, Upsy Daisy, Button and Rhinestone for my flower. SU Very Vanilla Seam Binding and SU Linen Thread. Inside I added a piece of white cardstock then ran my sentiment from Die-Namics High Rise Alphabet on a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock. I closed my card and adhered my Pumpkin Pie sentiment in the negative space of the Early Espresso card base.
The inside of my card-

Sending Sweet Thoughts...
I made this card for each of the deployed spouses in my hubs squadron. As a Key Spouse, one of my duties is to check up on them to make sure they're doing ok and see if they need anything while their spouse is away. I like to make and send all of them a card each month to let them know I'm thinking of them and am here for them if they need me. This was my card for them for August.
I started off stamping PI Sweet Greetings in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics. Pool Party, Rose Red, and EP So Happy Together paper. Sentiment from PI Sweet Greetings set, SU Square Punch to make the banner, Twine, and a button. My layout is MFTWSC81.

Eeek...sorry I've been MIA=( It's been a busy last couple of weeks for me. I've been crafting, but haven't had the time to blog, sigh. Anyhow, as most of you know I'm a Key Spouse for my hubs squadron and one of my duties is to check up on our deployed spouses. I also like to send them "happy mail" every month to let them know I'm thinking of them and am here if they need anything. These are the cards I made them for July...

Honoring, Remembering, and Thanking...
Memorial Day was created as an occasion to honor those who have paid the ultimate price to ensure our freedom. It is our opportunity to stop and give thanks for the many who have died protecting that freedom. As many of you know I am an Air Force Wife. My husband and I both come from military families. Our dads were both in the Navy and our Grandfathers were both in the military as well. I went from being a military dependant child to being a military dependant spouse. The longer my husband is in the military, the more I love it. I wouldn't trade being an Air Force Wife for the world...I absolutely love it! One of my duties as a Key Spouse is to check up on the spouses of the deployed troops in my hubs squadron. I've been making them a card each month to say hi and let them know I'm thinking of them. This is the card I made for them for June=)
This is for this weeks MFTWSC73. I'm only 3 sketches behind now=) Anyhow, I started off stamping Pure Innocence Popping By in Memento Ink, coloring with Copics. I stamped her dress and paper pieced it. Then stamped her arms, popcorn, and drink again, colored them and paper pieced them. I used Tim Holtz Scattered Straw Distress Ink for the sponging. Sahara Sand, My Minds Eye Miss Caroline Dilly Dally, MME Stella and Rose Gertie, MME Lush Damask Paper. Die-namics Pretty Posies, Die-namics Mini Monarch Border, Denami Rhinestone and Button.
Thank-you so much for stopping by.
Hope you have a great week!

Just a Note...
Sorry I've been MIA for the last few weeks. My EDS (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) flared up leaving my hands in a lot of pain and of course that meant no cardmaking for me=( The time off wasn't all a waste tho, my hubs took some leave so we headed to San Diego. We spent Mother's Day with his Mother, Grandmother and Sister, which we have never done since being married. We were also able to spend some time with my younger brother, meet his girlfriend, her daughter, and my nephew, who was all of 5 days old! He is so precious!
Anyhow...onto my card. I made these cards a few weeks ago for MFTWSC69 . I sent them out to the spouse's of the deployed troops in my hubs squadron. I started off stamping PI Making a List in Memento Ink, on Neenah, coloring with Copics. I paper pieced the dress and paper, then paper pieced the dress, then paper pieced the arm and pencil one last time. After seeing how it came together I wish I would've made the last paper pieced layer be the arm, pencil, and paper. Ah well, I'm still learning how to perfect the art of paper piecing=) Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Nesties, and sentiment from Who's That Musical Girl.

Sending Sweet Thoughts...
I made these for the deployed spouses in my hubs squadron. I'm a Key Spouse for his squadron, one of my duties is to check up on the deployed spouses and make sure they're doing ok while their spouse is away. Every so often I like to send them some "Happy Mail" to let them know I'm thinking of them and that I'm here for them if they ever need anything while their spouse is deployed.
I started off stamping PI Make Mine a Double in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics. I used a Glaze Pen on her shoes and hearts and Stickles on the ice cream scoop. Prismacolor Pencils and OMS for the ground and Tim Holtz Distress Inks for the edges. Groovy Guava, Mint Melody and Cosmo Cricket Phoebe paper. Die-Namics and Rhinestones. My entry for this weeks MFTWSC67.

Sending Happy Thoughts...
What a jammed packed weekend and week I've had. I took Terry Medaris' Prismacolor Pencil Class. It was very different from what I expected, but fun. I also went to see The Hunger Games with some friends and it was pretty good, though obviously the whole concept is rather disturbing. Anyhow, with me still not feeling well and lots going on, I'm once again late with my MFTWSC64 entry...
I'm a Key Spouse for my husbands squadron. One of my duties is to check up on the spouses of our deployed service members, make sure they are doing ok during their spouses deployment and see if they need anything. Me being a card maker...I like to send them happy mail from time to time, this is one of the cards I'm sending out=)
My card is super simple and barely has any stamping on it at all. The birds on the My Minds Eye Lost and Found Two Blush paper caught my eye so I thought I'd make them be somewhat of a focal point. Crumb Cake, Regal Rose cardstock, sentiment from MFT All Smiles, SU Photo Corner Punch, SU Linen Thread, Denami Design Ribbon and Button.

Thinking of You on Valentine's Day...
I'm a "Key Spouse" for my hubs squadron. One of my duties is to make calls to the deployed spouses and check up on them from time to time. I thought I'd send the spouse's of our deployed members a Valentine's Day card to let them know I was thinking of them=)
I used Day 8 of CPS's 5th Anniversary Challenge, CPS102. I started off cutting a square out of my Very Vanilla base with a nestie. Then stamped En Francais in Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla and mounted it on the inside of the base card. Next I taped a piece of EP Times & Season's to a thin piece of cardboard (my protein bar box, lol) and ran it through my CB. I stamped my sentiment from The Cat's Pajamas in Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla, mounting it on a small strip of a Die-Namics in Bravo Burgundy. For this weeks CAS156 we were to use hearts. This sketch was perfect for the challenge=)
Thank-you so much for stopping by. I hope ya'll are having a great week!
