Kind & Caring Canadian...

My sweet, kind and caring Canadian Friend, Cindy talked about these awesome warming socks all winter long.  They kept her toes and feet warm during her runs in the frigid cold temperatures of Canada.  She was not going to let COVID or the cold keep her from her training.  Even though I'm in Arizona where it's much warmer, I've had the hardest time keeping my toes/feet warm.  Cindy offered to send me a pair of her magical socks.  I was all for sending her some money as I couldn't find them here or online.  Instead of me sending her money, Cindy asked if I would mind creating a card in a cactus theme for her to display on her bookcase in her den that she was redecorating.  She sent me photos of the pot that she got inspiration from for her redecorating and I of course took inspiration for it for my card.

I started off with the My Favorite Things Wonky Stitch Rectangular Stax Die-namics die cut on Neenah cardstock.  I then used the MFT Small Brick Wall Stencil and SU Cherry Cobbler ink.  Next I stamped the images from MFT Sweet Succulents stamp set with Memento ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics and used the coordinating die-namics to die cut them.  I used pop dots to mount the cacti and Copics to ground them.
Kind & Caring Canadian...

I made Cindy a thank you card for the socks she sent me.  Knowing she was doing a cactus themed den, I of course had to make a cactus thank you card.  Being that we met through a Tucson Tri Girl event and our color is purple...I wanted to make her card predominantly purple to remember her TTG friends by.
Kind & Caring Canadian...
I started off by stamping the three cacti and pots on Neenah card stock with Memento ink, coloring with Copics.  I then stamped the front two cacti and pots on Neenah with Memento ink, die cutting them with coordinating die-namics.  I then colored them with Copics.  I used pop dots for the front two.  Then I used and art gun and SU markers to have a splatter effect on the card.  I grounded the pots with copics.  The sentiment is from the MFT PI Soldier Boy set.  I die cut it with the MFT Essential Stitched Sentiment die-namic.  I did a border in black with the MFT A2 Rectangle Frames.

Her socks arrived to me before I was able to get started on her card!
Super fast delivery!  Mine took 3 weeks to get to her!

Hello Pockets...

Continuing to work on RAK'ing my friends with cards.  This one is for a fun lady, friend, and former teammate of mine, Holly.  I was an assistant for a Tri Coach and one of my duties was to Sherpa for the team during their races.  Holly was racing in the first out of town race that I sherpa'd (is that a word? lol) for.  We had such a blast that trip!  She is an amazing athlete, gives it her all and is just fun to be around.
I used this week's MFTWSC498.  I'm so proud of myself for creating a card on sketch day and also uploading it on sketch day!  Usually I'm a bit slow at blogging/uploading.  Anyhow, I used MFT Let's Stick Together set and the sentiment from the PI Freckles set.  Sahara Sand and Wheat Varsamagic chalk ink on the bricks, circle frame I made using two circles, scallop die-namic, and some rhinestones.

Hppy Birthday Cindy...

I made this for my friend Cindy who lives in Canada.  She's such a sweet lady and I'm blessed that I get to ride with her when she comes down to Tucson.

Happy Birthday Cindy...

I'm honored to be this month's guest designer for the color challenge CC753. This week our colors were Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, and Pear Pizza.  The inspiration for my card came from a painting hanging in my dr's office I saw last week.  I stamped the trees in black then did the leaves in Blush Blossom and Calypso Coral, then in Certainly Celery and Pear Pizza. I highlighted some of the trunk and branches with a white gel pen. I felt the white was very bright so I toned it down with a light sponging of crumb cake.
Happy Birthday Cindy...

Thanks, I Needed That...

A card for my friend for taking me to and appointment that I needed a driver for.  With my hubs starting a new job, he wasn't able to take the time off.
I've had this card forever, before I ever uploaded to SCS or started blogging.  It was one of my favorites that I never wanted to let go of.  Silly I know...  Anyhow...it was made with Mellow Moss, Cameo Coral, Rose Red and Very Vanilla Card stock.  SU Sweet & Simple stamp set.  Eyelet, brads, grossgrain ribbon, linen thread, tag, spritzer and markers.

Excell in Purple Roses...

Happy birthday Jen!!!  For my cycling buddy and friend.  I met Jen almost 2 years ago...my cycling world has completely changed since meeting her!
I used Gorgeous Grape as my base, layered with black.  I stamped Stampin' Ups Musical Score in Memento on Neenah then cut it in strips.  Next I stamped the rose from Stampin' Ups Fifth Avenue Floral on Neenah in Memento, coloring with Copics, then fussy cut it out and used pop dots to give it some dimension.    My Favorite Things Royal Leaves Die-namics in Old Olive.  I used SC743 for my layout.
Thank you for stopping by, have a great evening!

Thank you for your firiendship...

Every January my Coach hosts a Holiday/Kick Off the Year Party for our team.  It's always a great time with all our teammates, their families, and it's a wonderful way to start the new training season.  Every year Coach Robin hand makes each of us a gift.  This year she made all of us a beautiful bracelet with an inspirational quote on it.  Here's the card I made her for hosting the party and for the wonderful gift...

I started out stamping SU Lovely as a Tree in Old Olive, then using Spellbinders to cut it out and pop dots to mount it.  White and Black cardstock, SU Because I Care set for the sentiment and Denami Design Ribbon.

The bracelet my Coach made for me.  I just love it!

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a wonderful rest of your weekend.

You're One in a Minion...

Happy Birthday Coach Robin!!!  Thank you for a fabulous training year full of wonderful memories!!!  I've had such a great time this past year being your assistant and doing your social media!  Hope you have an amazing day!

I made this for my Coach, she loves Minions (her kids training team is called the Purple Minions).  It took me for ever to find some type of card to go off of that I liked for a minion.  I came across a Minion template from Jennifer Ingle in the Papercraft & Scrapbooking magazine that I downloaded.  It was a full size minion card which I didn't want.  I wanted to be able to put the minion on the card so I shrunk it to my liking and painstakingly fussy cut all the bits and pieces.  This was probably the one card that has taken me the longest to make.  Anyhow, I used Black, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate, and Pacific Point Cards stock and inks (around the edges).  Pop dots to give dimension the to goggle.

Me and Coach Robin camping before a bike and swim clinic the next day.

My first event being the team sherpa.

Coach Robin taught me how to swim this last year!

We went to see Michael Jackson One- Cirque du Soleil while in Vegas for a Tri.

Coach Robin cheering for me at El Tour de Tucson.
Coach Robin, what an amazing opportunity you have given me, thank -you!!!

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a wonderful rest of your week!

Pockets...

Happy Birthday Pockets!  I made this card for my sweet friend and teammate Holly who earned the name "Pockets" at my first out of town team event as their Sherpa.  Holly, you definitely keep the team laughing.  I hope you have an amazing day!

I knew I wanted to use The Greeting Farm Beanie Anya because it reminds me of Holly.  My base is Eggplant Envy.  I participated in the CAS515 challenge, to use a stencil in your card or stencil and sentiment. I just got the MFT Star Grid Stencil earlier this week and wanted to give it a try.  It was my first time using stencils and also doing the watercolor technique.  I sprayed water color paper with water, put my stencil on top, then used SU Ink refills mixed with water to brush over the stencil.  For my image I used Neenah, Memento ink, and Copics, fussy cut the image out, then popped her up on foam dots.  Ribbon is from Denami Design  (the best ribbon ever!).  The sentiment is from the $1 bin at Michael's.
My first out of town team trip as their Sherpa to Boulder City.  5 women, 5 bikes, and all our cycling gear in one elevator!
