Honoring Warwick...

For our wonderful Warwick...I made this for our Tuesday Cyclefit Riders to sign to celebrate Warwick's last radiation treatment.  We all wore blue and surprised him at the morning ride.  He went through weeks and weeks of radiation with no complaints, always so thankful to be on his bike.  Warwick was our very first rider when Linden and I started co-leading the Tuesday Cyclefit Ride.  He holds a very special place in our hearts.

Honoring Warwick...
I used My Favorite Things Impact Alphabets and Awareness Ribbon die-namics.  Black, White, and Tempting Turquoise card stock.  Foam tape, baubles, and a white gel pen.

Winter Wonderland...

This is my final card as a guest designer for the Dirty Dozen Design Team.  Our theme for November was, Into The Woods.  Our challenge was to create cards with woodland animals, gnomes, mushrooms, ferns, cabins, fairies and other forest themes.  Or create cards with faux wood finishes, or use images with wooden or branch parts (like branches for snowmen).  I can't believe my 6 months is over and I'm now a "Dirty Girl" Alumna!  I never thought in my wildest dreams that my artwork was good enough to be considered to be a guest on the Design Team.   What a fun experience this was, I'm so honored that I was selected!
Winter Wonderland...
Funny story about this card...there's a thing in my house called, "Tanya Math".  I told my hubs that I finished all my cards and was showing him all the pictures I took.  I was counting as I was scrolling.  I got to the Gnome card, my 5th one and said, "OH NO!!!"  He asked where the 6th one was...I told him that I thought that was the 6th one and now I need to make another card!  He laughed and said..."Tanya Math", haha!  So here is my last one...
I used-
Paper- White, Pecan Pie, Real Red
Accessories- Embossing Folder, Circle Die, Stampin' Up Forever Forest, My Favorite Things Snow Drifts, Liquid Applique, Glitter, Wink of Stella.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday...

This is my last month as a guest designer for the Dirty Dozen Design Team.  These last 6 months have flown by!  This is my 4th entry and my favorite one for November's theme, Into The Woods.  Our challenge was to create cards with woodland animals, gnomes, mushrooms, ferns, cabins, fairies and other forest themes.  Or create cards with faux wood finishes, or use images with wooden or branch parts (like branches for snowmen).
Happy Birthday Brooke...
I started off with a white card base, layering an Early Espresso panel that was embossed with a woodgrain embossing folder.  I used My Favorite Things Captions Alphabet in Daffodil Delight, sponged with Pumpkin Pie.  I die cut the Honey Bee Maple Leaf in Daffodil Delight, blending Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, and Poppy Parade. Next I die cut the coffee cup from the My Favorite Things Coffee Break Companion in White, then a second time in Early Espresso.  I sponged Smoky Slate over the coffee cup.  I blended Early Espresso and Pecan Pie over the coffee.  Then I used the negative from the heart to sponge white in the coffee.

Thank you for stopping by!

That's Rough Challenge- Happy Birthday Linden!!!

My 2nd entry for the Dirty Dozen Challenge, That's Rough.  This one is also my favorite.  Living in Tucson, I have a love for our Saguaro Cactus/Cacti, our amazing mountains, and breathtaking sunrises/sunsets.  We also have some of the best cycling here with our beloved Mt. Lemmon being ranked #3 on The 30 Hardest Climbs in the World.

Anyhow, we were tasked with adding texture to our cards.  Some ideas given were- to use sand, sandpaper, grit medium, glitter, distress embossing powder, or to use sandpaper to distress our panel.  For my my texture portion I added a Wink of Stella to the white portions that the Saguaro's are in.  Then I used a fine tip glue pen to trace the stencil portions and add the brown glitter.  The picture doesn't show the shimmer on the bike, but I used Pearl Ex Interference Blue on Marina Mist.  It turned out to be just like my co-ride leaders paint job on her bike.  I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome!  I love how playing with long lost supplies turns into a perfect find.
That's Rough Challenge- Happy Birthday Linden!!!
This was for my dear friend and co-ride leader, Linden.  We had a birthday celebration for her after our Tuesday ride.

Another Day in Paradise...

For our cycling shop mechanic and friend, Sean for his birthday.  His love for donuts is just as big as his love for all things bikes!  Our shop owner, Tim just released a donut kit in Sean's honor with his favorite saying, "Another Day in Paradise" on the back pocket.  I took the colors from the donuts on that kit, along with the colors of the icing and sprinkles to create my card.  I originally started to place the sprinkles exactly how they were on the kit, but...after a spending a half hour on one donut I decided it didn't need to be an exact replica, ha!
Another Day in Paradise...
I used My Favorite Things Time to Make Donuts, Frame Builder and Bear Hug Bunch die-namics.  White, Tempting Turquoise, Regal Rose, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, and Creamy Caramel card stock for the donuts.  I added a plastic sheet to the back of the Regal Rose frame, then used foam strips to mount it to the white panel, then mounting it to a Tempting Turquoise card base.

Another Day in Paradise...
Of course we celebrated Sean's birthday with donuts!

Another Day in Paradise...
Matchy, matchy!!!

You Rock Tony!!!

Sometimes you meet a person who just touches your life in a special way...if you talk to anyone within our cycling circle, Tony is one of those people.  He has made me feel welcomed and has encouraged me to join in on some of the more challenging rides that I didn't think that I was capable of doing.  Words can't express how thankful I am that he was introduced to our Tuesday Ride...we sure do miss him when he returns "home" for the summer!
You Rock Tony!!!
Tony gave me and my co-ride leader one of the most thoughtful and personal gifts I think I have ever received.  His son mines minerals.  He told his son a little bit about us, our personality, (my love for the color orange and my orange bike) and his son made each of us a personalized box of minerals.  I was so touched by his special gift, thank you just doesn't seem like enough.
You Rock Tony!!!
Go ahead...laugh...I am!!!  Every time I look at this card I die.  It surely isn't pretty, nor is it my best work.  I really wanted to make Tony a special card to thank him for his thoughtful gift, but I totally failed...all I see is Grimace, haha!!!  I didn't have any type of stamps that were mineral, gem, or rock related so I went to Pinterest for ideas.  I came across this card by Jackie, and let me tell you ya'll...I did not do it justice, haha!!!  When I gave Tony the card, I told him he had to open it in front of me (because I knew how hideous it was), but he opened and said how much he loved it and how much his wife would love it too (so kind).  Anyhow...I can't unsee Grimace.  Supplies I used were My Favorite Things Caption Numbers, Caption Alphabets and Instaframe die-namics.  Smoky Slate, Black, and White card stock.  Circle punches.  To make the "rock" I tore the card stock, crumbled it in a ball several times, sponged Smoky Slate ink on it and eventually called it good.
Me and Tony at a gravel ride we went to.

If you're still here...thanks for hopefully having a laugh with me!

Desert Birthday Vibes for David...

When David found out that I made cards, he looked at my instagram and liked a card similar to this one but with a purple bike/cardstock.  He said he liked the colors and the it would look great in his home, that he'd like to have a canvas made out of it.  So, when his birthday came around, I of course had to try and replicate that card the best I could!
Desert Birthday Vibes for David...
This Hero Arts Card Kit that my besties got me for my birthday last year is by far one of my most favorite things to use when making cards for my Arizona Cycling friends.  We love being on our bikes getting lost in the beauty of our desert.
I used the following inks for the card- Caramel, Sand, Pine, Tangerine, Granny Apple Green, YoYo Yellow.
My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle Frames and a bike die.

Happy Birthday Alan!!!

Celebrating a Milestone Birthday for one of our cycling friends!
Happy Birthday Alan!!!
I struggled with designing this card.  I had a vision in my mind, but ended up going a total different direction.  I am happy with how it turned out though!  I used Smoky Slate, Black, Night of Navy, Card Stock and Reminisce Bike Life Paper.  My Favorite Things Impact Numbers die-namics in Smoky Slate, colored with a glitter gel pen.  Oval, Scallop Oval, and Bike die with a glaze pen.  My Favorite Things Open Road die-namics and finished off the card with Denami Design Ribbon.

Thank you for taking a peek at my blog.

Happy Birthday Noah!!!

Happy Birthday Noah!!!  Noah is another one of our Tuesday Riders.  He's newer to cycling and doing great.  It's so awesome to meet someone when they first start cycling and watch them grow and excel at it.  So proud of Noah and excited to see where this takes him.
I started out by creating the sky with Apricot Appeal, Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, and Rose Red.  I mounted the panel on a Pecan Pie Panel, then the Black Card Base.  Next I die cut the Impression Obsession Desert Scene using Chocolate Chip, Pecan Pie, and Black Card Stock, then layered them on the card.  Finished the card off with My Favorite Things Open Road die-namics in Pecan Pie and a Bike in Pumpkin Pie.

Thanks for having a look at my blog!!!

Thanks a Bunch!!!

For my dear friend Terri to thank her for a "changing kilt" she got me.  After we cycle we like to change into some fresh, clean, dry clothes.  A lot of times that means we're changing in the car, parking lots, parking garages, event locations...the list goes on.  She found these clever little kilts that have velcro and wrap around us so we can have some privacy while we change.  That way we're not having to try to hold up a towel while changing and risk giving everyone a free show, ha!
Thanks a Bunch!!!
I wanted to try and mimic the kilt's pattern on my card.  I used My Favorite Things Thank You die-namics with Merry Merlot, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral, Mint Macaron, and Tempting Turquoise ink.  Pacific Point and White card stock.  Finished off my card with Denami Design ribbon and iridescent bubbles.
Thanks a Bunch!!!

Happy Birthday Terri!!!

For my dear friend Terri and also my cycling buddy!  Terri loves pink so I had to make her one of the Hero Arts Stencil cards using all PINK!!!
Happy Birthday Terri!!!
I got all my pinks out to make this card and just layered and layered them until I had the look I was happy with.  There was no rhyme or reason to my method.  I used the Hero Arts Stencil kit.  Black, White, and Regal Rose card stock.  Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette, Polished Pink, Strawberry Slush, Melon Mambo, Berry Burt, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Pink Passion, and Merry Merlot inks.  Finished my card off with some black birds.

Celebrating Tony!!!  Another one of our wonderful cycling friends who's birthday is in December.  Tony is so much fun...he's such a strong cyclist and is always willing to be in the front when we need a little break leading the ride.
Happy Birthday Tony!!!
Another fun card to make!  I made my sky with YoYoYellow, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Real Red, Gorgeous Grape, and Night of Navy.  Then I used the Impression Obsession Desert Scene die with Black, Pecan Pie, and Early Espresso and the My Favorite Things Fast Track in Pecan Pie.  I went over the Pecan Pie sections with a Wink of Stella.  I die cut the bike in black.
Happy Birthday Tony!!!

Thank You Bruce and Laura!!!

I made this card to thank a wonderful couple that I've never met before.  My friend asked me if I'd like to do El Tour de Tucson.  She came across a post in one of her fb groups that someone was giving away their entries.  We decided to take Bruce and Laura up on their kind offer and entered in the 60 mile event.  El Tour was 6 days away and we hadn't trained for it at all...well, we kind of unknowingly did.  Terri and I had been cycling part of the route every Saturday morning since it was in our neighborhood.  Our Saturday morning rides paid off.  We knew the route, the roads, and what to expect along the way.  This was Terri's first El Tour de Tucson and I'm so proud of her for going outside of her comfort zone and riding with thousands of people.  We had such an amazing time and I can't thank Bruce and Laura enough for their generosity.
Thank You Bruce and Laura!!!
My inspiration for this card came from a finishers medal for a local half marathon I saw in the early fall.  I knew I wanted to recreate it "some day" but didn't quite have the products I needed to do so.  Well, I came across this fabulous Desert Scene from Impression Obsession and went to work.  I used a Circle Die on Black then ran it through the die cut machine with MFT Wonky Stitch Rectangle die.  The Impression Obsession die in black.  My Favorite Things Skinny Stripes to get the perfectly sized and perfectly straight lines in black in between each color.  The colors I used for the "sunset' are Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Pumpkin Pie, Purely Pomegranate.  Tangerine Tango for the bike, with many layers and paper glaze on top.  Very Vanilla and Black for the moon.  Mounted on a white card base and splattered with black.
My inspiration photo.

Thank You Bruce and Laura!!!

Thank You Terri...

For my sweet dear friend Terri to thank her for lending me a cycling bag to see if it was something that I'd want to purchase.
Thank You Terri...
Terri's favorite color is pink and her favorite cycling jersey is a pink saguaro jersey.  I just got this cactus stencil from scrapbook.com that I wanted to try out and thought it would be perfect to make a card for Terri.  I used texture paste, then sprinkled a heavy coating of glitter on top and let it dry.  I mounted two strips of white card stock on foam dots then die cut the Thank You from My Favorite Things die-namics and layered it on top of the white strips.  I mounted my panel on a black layer, then a Purely Pomegranate card base.

Thank You Terri...

Happy Dual Citizenship Day!!!

My sweet dear friend Kathryn Bertine's Dual Citizenship Birthday (Saint Kitts and Nevis) just happens to be on the same day that my hubs proposed to me!  I wanted to surprise her with a card in her Dual Country's Flag and bring her a treat to get her through the cycling event we were volunteering for, The Tucson Bicycle Classic.  What a beautiful day to celebrate...Dual Citizenship, 30 years ago my hubs proposed to me, a bicycle race, and I had the pleasure of riding shotgun with Kathryn in the lead car for the Women's Pro 1/2 Road Race.  It was such an incredible day, one for the memory books!

Happy Dual Citizenship Day!!!
I used Poppy Parade, Prickly Pear, Yo Yo Yellow, Black and White card stock and a star punch.

Happy Dual Citizenship Day!!!

Good Luck on your Half...

A card order for a friend.  Her friend is doing her first Half Marathon today!  Good Luck!!!

Good Luck on your Half...

I only had one running stamp and it was more of a congratulatory stamp (hands up like she's crossing the finish line).  So, I took to the internet to see what I could find.  I came across this image and purchased it so I could make this card.  I thought it was perfect for someone who was doing their first marathon.  I also came across a quote while on my search that said, "When your legs get tired, run with your heart." that I thought was perfect for the inside.  Anyhow, kept this one very CAS.  I used Night of Navy, Real Red, and Neenah card stock.  My Favorite Things Caption Alphabet and Little Numbers Die-namics.

Hope you have a wonderful rest of your Sunday!

Surprise Wylie!!!

Happy Birthday to the one that made a grandma and gave me the name, "Mommom".  It's hard to believe Wylie's 12 today!!!  Where on earth has the time gone?!?!  When I asked Wylie what he wanted for his birthday he said, "surprise me!"  So, I used that for the sentiment on his card, lol.

Surprise Wylie!!!
I took inspiration from Angelica's card here.  Wylie's favorite football team is the Broncos so I used their colors for the balloons.  I used MFT Balloon Stax Die-namics and die cut them in Only Orange, Night of Navy, and White.  I used pop dots and a white gel pen to highlight the balloons.  Next I used Retro Square Die-namics and die cut it in Night of Navy.  I lined up my High Rise Alphabet Die-namics die cut in black along the top of the Retro Square strip.  At first I highlighted the letters with a gel pen, but I didn't like the look so I went over it with a clear star gel pen...that was a long process!  The picture doesn't do the glitter effect justice!  I also used the clear star gel pen for the balloon strings.

Wish Big!!!

Every year for my best friends birthday I make him a funny card.  This year I CASE'd a card I saw on Pinterest.  I loved the card as soon as I saw it and also felt it appropriate for the way this year has gone!

Wish Big!!!
I didn't have the wood stamp the inspiration card used to make the outhouse card so I used DSP from My Mind's Eye.  I used Sahara Sand then built my outhouse on it.  I had to do the inside of the door as well since the other side of the DSP was not wood.  I used Early Espresso for the hinges, and SU hodgepodge hardware.
Wish Big!!!
I loved the sentiment they used as well, which I thought was hilarious!!!

Me and Jeremy on the cruise in March.

You know you have an awesome best friend when he help you decorate your craft room!

My favorite tradition we have...cooking each other a birthday meal.  This year he picked bacon wrapped meatloaf and mashed sweet potatoes.

And something apple for dessert...Apple Dapple Cake.
