Give Thanks...

My entry for Card Patterns 134.  I thought this Thanksgiving Chickies Set from Denami Design was perfect for this layout.  I stamped my images with Momento Ink on Neenah then used my Nesties.  I colored with Copics, used smooch to give the chickies some shimmer, an orange glaze pen on the beaks and a clear glaze pen on their head gear.  Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake Cardstock.  SU Punch, Denami Design Button, SU Linen Thread, Ribbon.

I had a great trip up to Goodyear on Friday=)  Chelsea did an awesome job on my hair.  I ate lunch at Ikea...does anyone else love their Swedish Meatballs??? Yum!  I also did some Christmas shopping there.  Then it was off to Scrapbooks Etc.  I picked up some fun papers...October Afternoon, My Mind's Eye, Pinkpaislee, and Echo Park=)
Thank-you for stopping by, have a wonderful evening!

You are Fabulous...

Can you believe it's officially the first day of Autumn?  Wow, where has this year gone?
Well, I'm on the road up to Goodyear right now.  My fabulous hairdresser from Idaho moved to the Phoenix area and tho it's really out of my way to get my hair done by her (300 mile round trip) that is what I'm doing today!  I can't always make the special trip, but I am desperately needing my Chelsea fix!  She is such a fabulous stylist, so talented and so worth the drive=)  I made this card to give to Chelsea to let her know how much I've missed her and appreciate her talent.
This week's Bellarific Friday Challenge is a sketch challenge, they are my favorite of all challenges=)  I stamped Everyday Princess by Christy Croll on Neenah with Momento Ink, coloring with my Copics.  I embellished her with stickles, smooch, and a glaze pen.  Real Red and My Mind's Eye Stella Rose "Gertie" (loved this line!) Paper.  Rosette Ribbon, Rhinestones, Prima Flowers, and a Bauble.
I hope you all have a great weekend!  I plan on doing some shopping after I get my hair done=)  I always have to make a stop at Ikea (we don't have one where I live) and now that the scrapbooking store I worked at has closed, I'm going to make a detour to one up there.
Thank-you for stopping by!

Welcome to Your New Home...

This is my entry for this month's SFYTT.  I have to say Jen's sketch challenges are my favorite and I make sure to play along every month!
I made this for a new neighbor that moved in a couple houses up the cul-de-sac from us.  I plan to bake for them tonight and deliver the goodies and greet them tomorrow=)
The house stamp is a $1 stamp from Michael's.  I stamped on the opposite side of the paper that I wanted to use and cut it out.  Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup Paper.  I took a Quickie Glue Pen around the embossed edge of the nestie and added some glitter to give it a little sparkle.  Denami Design Button (my fav), Twine, sentiment from CTMH Solos "W" Set.

My daughter's on school break for a couple of weeks so I'm enjoying the extra time in my craft room=)

Have a great day and as always thank-you for stopping by!

Hope...

September is Leukemia Awareness Month.  My dear friend Melissa has Leukemia and has been giving it one heck of a fight!  She started treatment in April.  She's on her 4th round of Chemo and is currently in Texas for a Stem Cell Transplant from her Sister.  With everything Melissa has been through she still has a great sense of humor and is always smiling when you see her.  I'm blessed to have her in my life and to be able to call her my friend.  This card will be on it's way to Texas tomorrow=)
I stamped the swirls from Baroque Motifs then stamped the Ribbon in the middle.  Next I stamped Believe from Hope Is....  Then I made the sentiment "hope" from Doodle Alphabet.  I went over the whole thing with a Copic Multiliner since it was hit and miss in some spots.  I stamped another ribbon and colored it with Copics then cut it out.  I put some Smooch on it then some Crystal Lacquer.  I smudged Versamagic Wheat over the stamped portion to soften the image, then some distress ink around the edges.  Rhinestones, Ribbon, Peach Parfait, and Black Cardstock.

This is the inspiration for my card.  Our friend Roxy had this as her profile picture on facebook.  As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to CASE it!
Thank-you so much for stopping by!

Denami Theme Challenge 7...

I've had this card in my head ever since the Water Lily was released from Denami Design.  Their Theme Challenge #7 is Animals.  Tho my card is mostly Water Lillies there is a lil' Froggy in there=)  I have to share really quick that this is my very first card that I've sewn on!  My sweet friend Kat came over on Friday for a few hours to teach me how to sew (I still need lots of practice tho!).  Thank-you so much Kat!!!  Ok now back to the card details...
I took a piece of Neenah cardstock and sewed a rectangle first since I am just a beginner and can barely sew a straight line=)  I sponged Adirondack Aqua from the edges to almost center, then Distress Ink in Faded Jeans around the edges.  SU oval punches, notching out a small triangle in Old Olive cardstock, sponging Old Olive ink around the edges.  I stamped the Water Lily several times on Neenah Cardstock, coloring with my Copics.  For the middle Water Lily I colored and cut several layers, glueing them on for dimension, them popped it up on foam squares.  For the Froggy I used Neenah, colored with Copics, cut out, Crystal Lacquered the whole lil' guy and popped him on a foam square too.  I didn't have matching ribbon so I colored white grossgrain ribbon with an Old Olive Marker.  I mounted my main image panel on Iridescent Pearl then used foam squares to mount it to Magenta Cardstock.  I used Card Patterns 132 for my layout but unfortunately I started my card, put it down, picked it up, put it down, etc. and didn't finish on time to enter it before the deadline=(
I hope you have a great day!

Thank-You Katie...

Sorry I've been MIA...August was one crazy month for me!  With MMU closing it's doors, it meant working more and longer hours to help with it's closure.  I honestly didn't mind, I loved that place and enjoyed working for Katie.  I also enjoyed working with my co-workers, we had some good laughs those last few days!
I made this card for Katie to thank her for giving me the opportunity to work at MMU.  I stamped the Rose from Fifth Avenue Floral on Neenah with Momento Ink, coloring with Copics, then adding Glamour Dust around the petals with a Quickie Glue PenCrystal Lacquer on the whole Rose.  Storybook Cartridge, Old Olive Cardstock and Ink, SU Punch, Victoria and Pink Organdy Ribbon. EP Victoria Gardens Paper.

This is me and Katie at MMU's Closing Reception.

We had a great turn out for the Closing Reception.  It was really nice to have one last "get-together" to see everyone and be able to say goodbye to our customers as well as the store, to each other and to Katie.  We appreciate everyone who came out to celebrate MMU's closing.  We really did have the best customers!

I literally stopped ringing up a customer to take this photo!  Team MMU=)

It's been almost 3 weeks since the store has closed and I miss it dearly.  But I'm so happy for Katie and Hoss who can now enjoy their little boy, Levi who was born on the 8th and not have to worry about running a store anymore.  They can just sit back and enjoy being a family=)

Thank-you for stopping by!  Have a great week.
