Adventure Awaits...

For our Cyclefit Tuesday Rider, Lou who was making his new home a boat.  We had a nice little going away to celebrate his big move.
Adventure Awaits...
I unfortunately made this at the last minute and didn't have time to make a new card when my gel paint applicator fell on the card...I tried my best to blend it in and make it look like I meant for it to look like that, ha!  I love how the background on this turned out (minus the white gel paint splat!).  I started off using the My Favorite Things Watercolor Rectangle Stencil with Tempting Turquoise, Azure Afternoon, Pacific Point, YoYo Yellow, Daffodil Delight, Only Orange, and Pumpkin Pie inks.  I added Frantic Stamper Lighthouse and Boats and My Favorite Things Shady Palms die-namics (birds) in white.  Then added the white gel pen highlights.  My sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Hope you have a great week!

Honoring Warwick...

For our wonderful Warwick...I made this for our Tuesday Cyclefit Riders to sign to celebrate Warwick's last radiation treatment.  We all wore blue and surprised him at the morning ride.  He went through weeks and weeks of radiation with no complaints, always so thankful to be on his bike.  Warwick was our very first rider when Linden and I started co-leading the Tuesday Cyclefit Ride.  He holds a very special place in our hearts.

Honoring Warwick...
I used My Favorite Things Impact Alphabets and Awareness Ribbon die-namics.  Black, White, and Tempting Turquoise card stock.  Foam tape, baubles, and a white gel pen.
Honoring Warwick...

Happy Birthday Ryan...

Winter Wonderland...

This is my final card as a guest designer for the Dirty Dozen Design Team.  Our theme for November was, Into The Woods.  Our challenge was to create cards with woodland animals, gnomes, mushrooms, ferns, cabins, fairies and other forest themes.  Or create cards with faux wood finishes, or use images with wooden or branch parts (like branches for snowmen).  I can't believe my 6 months is over and I'm now a "Dirty Girl" Alumna!  I never thought in my wildest dreams that my artwork was good enough to be considered to be a guest on the Design Team.   What a fun experience this was, I'm so honored that I was selected!
Winter Wonderland...
Funny story about this card...there's a thing in my house called, "Tanya Math".  I told my hubs that I finished all my cards and was showing him all the pictures I took.  I was counting as I was scrolling.  I got to the Gnome card, my 5th one and said, "OH NO!!!"  He asked where the 6th one was...I told him that I thought that was the 6th one and now I need to make another card!  He laughed and said..."Tanya Math", haha!  So here is my last one...
I used-
Paper- White, Pecan Pie, Real Red
Accessories- Embossing Folder, Circle Die, Stampin' Up Forever Forest, My Favorite Things Snow Drifts, Liquid Applique, Glitter, Wink of Stella.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday Caroline!!!

This is my last month as a guest designer for the Dirty Dozen Design Team.  Where have the last 6 months gone?  This is my 5th entry for November's theme, Into The Woods.  Our challenge was to create cards with woodland animals, gnomes, mushrooms, ferns, cabins, fairies and other forest themes.  Or create cards with faux wood finishes, or use images with wooden or branch parts (like branches for snowmen).  This is for my friend and fellow cyclist, Caroline for her birthday.
Happy Birthday Caroline!!!
I just love this gnome from Simon Says Stamps.  It's so adorable!  I used the DDSKETCH1124 for my card.  I flipped the sketch upside down then change it's orientation from horizontal to vertical.  The products I used for this card are-

Stamp-  MFT Itty Bitty Birthday.

Happy Birthday...

This is my last month as a guest designer for the Dirty Dozen Design Team.  These last 6 months have flown by!  This is my 4th entry and my favorite one for November's theme, Into The Woods.  Our challenge was to create cards with woodland animals, gnomes, mushrooms, ferns, cabins, fairies and other forest themes.  Or create cards with faux wood finishes, or use images with wooden or branch parts (like branches for snowmen).
Happy Birthday Brooke...
I started off with a white card base, layering an Early Espresso panel that was embossed with a woodgrain embossing folder.  I used My Favorite Things Captions Alphabet in Daffodil Delight, sponged with Pumpkin Pie.  I die cut the Honey Bee Maple Leaf in Daffodil Delight, blending Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, and Poppy Parade. Next I die cut the coffee cup from the My Favorite Things Coffee Break Companion in White, then a second time in Early Espresso.  I sponged Smoky Slate over the coffee cup.  I blended Early Espresso and Pecan Pie over the coffee.  Then I used the negative from the heart to sponge white in the coffee.

Life is Sweet...

This is my last card for this month's Dirty Dozen Design Team Challenge, Your Mileage May Vary. We were challenged to celebrate vacations with cards that feature vacation spots and ways to get there.  Ideas were, to make a card featuring something you like to do on a vacation- eat, read, rest, play, craft?  Or use a map on your card.  My first date with my hubs was to a theme park, Six Flags Magic Mountain in California.  For many years after we married we would always got to Magic Mountain when we were on vacation to California to visit our families.  One of my favorite things to get at theme parks/fairs is cotton candy, yum!

My grandboys love getting their birthday cards each year from me.  Just warms my heart that they look more forward to getting a card from me than a gift.  I always add a gift card so they can treat their siblings to dinner for their birthday.

Happy Birthday Tanner!!!
We played in the pool all day, had a bbq, then cupcakes and presents.  When we were showering for the even poor Tanner came out shivering and shaking.  He ended up having a double ear infection.  That didn't keep him from the zoo the following day.  He was such a trooper, never complained once.

Happy Birthday Hubs!!!

Sunshine and a Little Pink...

For my dear friend Terri.  We trained all this year for several different cycling events leading up to the big one in November, El Tour de Tucson...102 miles!  This would be Terri's first Century ride.  She asked me to do it with her and I of course said yes!  Terri loves the color pink.  When I saw My Favorite Things came out with this stamp set, I had to purchase it to make some cards for her.

For our Dirty Dozen Theme this month, we were tasked with adding texture to our cards.  Some ideas given were- to use sand, sandpaper, grit medium, glitter, distress embossing powder, or to use  sandpaper to distress our panel.  For my texture piece, I ran the Flamingo through the Sticker Maker face down.  Then added Raspberry Fizz to it to create it's Fluffy Feathers.

The supplies I used were-
My Favorite Things Tickled Pink Stamp Set
Stampin' Up Old World 3 D Embossing Folder, My Favorite Things Flamingo Chevron, and Grounding Die-namics.  Xyron Sticker Maker, Ultra Fine Flower Soft Raspberry Fizz.

Me giving Terri a hug and congratulating her on completing her first century!

Happy Birthday Betsy!!!

Merry Christmas!  I hope everyone is have a wonderful day with their loved ones.
We're having a low key day today so I thought I'd catch up on some blogging!
This was for a sweet dear friend of mine, Betsy for her birthday.
Happy Birthday Betsy!!!

For our Dirty Dozen Theme this month, we were tasked with adding texture to our cards.  Some ideas given were- to use sand, sandpaper, grit medium, glitter, distress embossing powder, or to use  sandpaper to distress our panel.
For my texture part, it took way longer that I would like to admit and unfortunately didn't turn out the way that I hoped.  I used glue at first to add the flock to the clouds and topped it with glamour dust.  It didn't hold at all.  I then added  paperglaze, the flock and the glamour dust and only the flock stayed.  I then added paperglaze on top of the flock and then the glamour dust and let it set over night and ended up with raised hard glittery clouds...not the fluffy puffy glittery ones I was going for, ha!  I also added glitter to my sun.  It is a bright happy card, and I do love the over all look and feel of it.  I used SC1015  for my layout.

I used My Favorite Things Card Stock.
My Favorite Things Stitched Tall Rainbow, Full Sun, Cute Cloud Outlines, and Itty Bitty Strips Die-namics.
Paperglaze, Snow White Fun Flock, Glamour Dust, and Denami Design Glitter.

Thank you for stopping by!

Merry Christmas...

Merry Christmas!!!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas morning.  This is my last month as a guest designer for the Dirty Dozen Design Team.  These last 6 months sure have flown by!  This is my 3rd entry for November's theme, Into The Woods.  Our challenge was to create cards with woodland animals, gnomes, mushrooms, ferns, cabins, fairies and other forest themes.  Create cards with faux wood finishes, or use images with wooden or branch parts (like branches for snowmen).
Merry Christmas...
I started with an Embossing Folder, mounting it to a white card base.  Next I used Hero Arts Wood Frames in Soft Suede and mounted it to my white card base.  I mounted My Favorite Things Stacked Merry in Real Red.  I stamped my "reindeer" from My Favorite Things So Very Fawned of You in Memento, coloring it with copics, then mounting it on my card.  Next I die cut greenery from MFT Winter Poinsettias in white then added a red pearl in the middle.  I finished the card with a sentiment from the MFT stamp set Christmas Wishes.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your Christmas!

Happy Birthday Terri!!!

Merry Christmas!!!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas with their friends, family, or friends that have become family.  This is my last month as a guest designer for the Dirty Dozen Design Team.  I can't believe it's been 6 month's already!  This is my 2nd entry for November's theme, Into The Woods.  Our challenge was to create cards with woodland animals, gnomes, mushrooms, ferns, fairies, cabins, and other forest themes.  Create cards with faux wood finishes, or use images with wooden or branch parts (like branches for snowmen).  I made this for my fellow cyclist, cycling event and adventuring buddy and dearest friend, Terri for her birthday.  We've had quite the year full of fun cycling adventures, going to different events, doing things outside of our comfort zone, taking different classes and skills clinics and trying all sorts of new things.  Happy Birthday Terri!!!  I look forward to seeing what the new year has in store for us!

Happy Birthday Terri!!!
I started out by masking the sun then blending Petal Pink and Pretty in Pink for the sky.  I tore paper and sponged Smoky Slate for the mountains.  I stamped my images from Stampin' Up Snow Front in Black and Smoky Slate then used a cotton round to lightly rub the area to give it a little bit of a blurry look.  I outlined the moon, mountains, and trees with a glitter pen (pictures don't show how sparkly it is).  I stamped my sentiment from My Favorite Things Something For Everyone stamp set in black.  I mounted my panel on black, then on Petal Pink.

Thanks for having a peek at my blog!

Happy Birthday Troy...

Merry Christmas!!!  I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas with their friends, family, or friends that have become family.  This is my last month as a guest designer for the Splicoaststampers Dirty Dozen Design Team.  These last 6 months sure have flown by!  This is my first entry for November's theme, Into The Woods.  Our challenge was to create cards with woodland animals, gnomes, mushrooms, ferns, cabins, fairies and other forest themes.  Create cards with faux wood finishes, or use images with wooden or branch parts (like branches for snowmen).  I made this for one of our cyclists, Troy who recently moved to Tucson and joined our Tuesday group.

Happy Birthday Troy...
I started out creating the background using Old Olive, Garden Green, YoYo Yellow, Daffodil Delight, Only Orange, Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral, Real Red, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Berry Burst, Blackberry Bliss, and Black inks.  I die cut Frantic Stamper Howling Coyotes, My Favorite Things Birch Tree Forest Cover Up Die-namics and a circle in White.  I used a glitter pen to highlight the trees and moon.  Then I used Opaque White Gel to splatter over my image.  I mounted my panel on a white card base.  I sat with the card like this for a couple of days and wasn't really happy with how it looked, I felt like it was missing something so I die cute the coyote and trees in black and off set it so the white with the glitter highlights would show.

Thank you for stopping by!

Happy 3 Years of Co-Ride Leading Linden!!!

My last entry for the Dirty Dozen Friends and Neighbors Challenge.  We were tasked with making cards depicting something we enjoy doing with friends. Make a card inspired by a friend, neighbor, or someone special in our life.  Make a house-shaped card or a house-warming gift.  This is for my co-ride leader Linden, to thank her for leading rides with me these last 3 years.  Without her, our little group wouldn't be possible.  She always says that coffee is the best part of the ride!
Happy 3 Years of Co-Ride Leading Linden!!!
I used SC1029 for my layout.  I started out by stamping My Favorite Things Coffee Bean Background in Pecan Pie, then mounting it on a Crumb Cake card base.  I die cut a circle in Vanilla, added Versamagic Chalkink in Sea Breeze then ran it through the die cut machine using Coffee Break Companion for the steam.  I die cut the coffee mug and colored it with copics.  Next I die cut the coffee beans, coloring the ends with copics.  Then I layered the circle on a Pecan Pie circle, then layered them on a scalloped circle die cut in Vanilla.  I die cut the scallop border from My Favorite Things in Pecan Pie to finish off the card.
My inspiration sketch.

Happy Birthday Tom!!!

My fifth entry for the Dirty Dozen Friends and Neighbors Challenge.  We were tasked with making cards depicting something we enjoy doing with friends. Make a card inspired by a friend, neighbor, or someone special in our life.  Make a house-shaped card or a house-warming gift.  This is for another another one of our Tuesday group riders.
Happy Birthday Tom!!!
This was my fifth attempt at my image panel.  I thought I would give copics a go at creating a sunset and beach scene.  Unfortunately after four attempts, I decided it was best that I stick to ink pads and my handy 'ole brushes!  I wanted to make something with a Tropical/Hawaiian feel as Tom just went there with his children and grandchildren for his birthday.  I started with my horizon, using Cherry Cobbler, Real Red, Only Orange, Yo Yo Yellow, Pretty in Pink and Tempting Turqouise.  Then I worked the opposite direction for the beach, ommitting Pretty in Pink and adding Azure Afternoon to the Tempting Turqoise.  Finally I added Creamy Caramel for the sand, then added Liquid Applique and Wink of Stella.  The die-namics I used were My Favorite Things Beach Scene Builder, Beach Bungalow Accessories, Sandcastle Builder, and Shady Palm.  I stamped my sentiment from the My Favorite Things Life's a Beach stamp set.  I mounted my panel on black, then a Tempting Turquoise card base.

Happy Birthday Tom!!!

Thank you for taking a look at my blog!

Happy 50th Emily!!!

My fourth entry for the Dirty Dozen Friends and Neighbors Challenge.  We were tasked with making cards depicting something we enjoy doing with friends. Make a card inspired by a friend, neighbor, or someone special in our life.  Make a house-shaped card or a house-warming gift.  One thing's for sure...I love cycling with my friends!  Post ride coffee (chai tea for me!) is second best!
Happy 50th Emily!!!
I made this for one of our Tuesday group riders.  Her bike is a beautiful minty green so I went with a color combination to compliment that.  I also used the Dirty Dozen Inspiration Sketch for my card.  I used Mint Melody for the Stampin' Up Fun on Wheel bike and the My Favorite Things Impact Numbers die-namics.  I added a Wink of Stella to the Bike and Numbers to give them a bit of shimmer.  I mounted both of them on white circles and added them to my Echo Park Everyday Eclectic paper.  I die cut My Favorite Things Coffee Break Companion in Polished Pink and a second time in Crumb Cake.  I stamped a heart from the Verve You and I stamp set using White Craft ink, then smudging it to try and make it look like a foamy milk heart.  I sponged the Crumb Cake edges using Pecan Pie.  I stamped My Favorite Things Itty Bitty Birthday then die cut it with My Favorite Things Essential Stitched Sentiment die-namics.  I mounted my panel on Crumb Cake then a Polished Pink card base.

Happy 50th Emily!!!

Congratulations Tod!!!

My third entry for the Dirty Dozen Friends and Neighbors Challenge.  We were tasked with making cards depicting something we enjoy doing with friends. Make a card inspired by a friend, neighbor, or someone special in our life.  Make a house-shaped card or a house-warming gift.  This is for my friend Tod who just purchased a home.

Congratulations Tod!!!

I used a Granny Apple Green card base, layering a white panel that was embossed with Stampin' Ups brick folder.  I added  my image panel, layered on top of Barely Banana, then ran through the die cut machine using circle dies.  On the image panel I used Marina Mist, Pretty in Pink, Pumpkin Pie, and Barely Banana for the sky.  I used Spellbinders Colorblock Landscape die (for the cactus), Circle dies, My Favorite Things My Neighborhood, Snow Drifts, What Friendship Means, Tree Trio, and Park Bench die-namics (for the street light).  Sentiment from My Favorite Things Right at Home stamp set.

Thank you for having a peek at my blog!

Happy Birthday Mikaela!!!

My second entry for the Dirty Dozen Friends and Neighbors Challenge.  We were tasked with making cards depicting something we enjoy doing with friends. Make a card inspired by a friend, neighbor, or someone special in our life.  Make a house-shaped card or a house-warming gift.  This card is inspired by my daughter.  She loves Sugar Skulls.  When I came across this stamp, I knew I had to have it so I could make my daughter a card with it.
Happy Birthday Mikaela!!!
I just love all the Oddball stamps from Stamping Bella, they're so quirky and fun!  This Day of the Dead Oddball stamp is also perfect to have on hand for Dia de Los Muertos.  When I sat down to make my daughter's card, I asked her to pick 3 colors.  She picked Dusty Rose and Olive Green.  I had to come up with the 3rd color, ha!  I stamped my image in memento ink, coloring her with copics.  I couldn't quite get a Dusty Rose so I sort of tried again...so she ended up with 2 shades of an attempted Dusty Rose and Olive Green.  I mounted the panel on Moody Mauve.  Sentiment is from My Favorite Things Itty Bitty Birthday and Itty Bitty Strips die-namics.  I used SC1028 for my layout, rotating it upright.

Thank you for having a look at my blog!

Thank You Carnival Cruise #2...

A thank you card for the waiter on our cruise.  We appreciated how well he took care of us...he always had a cheese plate on the table for us when we sat for dinner and never placed bread/a bread plate for me.  We also went on a Sunset Sailboat Adventure while in one of the ports, it was so beautiful!

Thank You Carnival Cruise #2...
This card was also created for the Dirty Dozen Monthly Theme- Your Mileage May Vary.  We were challenged to celebrate vacations with cards that feature vacation spots and ways to get there.  Ideas were, to make a card featuring something you like to do on vacation- eat, read, rest, play, craft?  Or use a map on your card.  I used Frantic Stampers Ocean Sunset Scene, Frantic Stamper Lighthouse and Boats die and the My Favorite Things Shady Palm die-namics.  The inks I used were YoYo Yellow, Only Orange Real Red, Melon Mambo, Berry Burst, Elegant Eggplant, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, and Night of Navy.  Black and White card stock.  This was also my favorite pick out of the 6 cards I made for the the monthly challenge.

Thanks for stoppinb by!
