Pickles & Ice Cream...

One of the ladies from our spouse's group is pregnant and expecting in June.  Since this isn't her first baby I wanted to make her a card with a little more humor in it=)
I stamped pregaPEEP with Momento Ink on Neenah Cardstock, coloring her with my Prismacolor Pencils.  I used a glaze pen over the jar of pickles and a glitter pen on the tub of ice cream.  My paper is My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose.  Gray Velvet Ribbon and a Gray Fabric Rose in the middle of the Prima Flower.  Bermuda Bay and Regal Rose Card Stock.  I used CPS 208 for my layout.
Thank-you for stopping by, have a great weekend.  I'll been crafting, cleaning, and doing laundry!

Congratulations!!!

Some friends of ours are expecting!  It is such a blessing for them.  They've been trying to become pregnant for some time.  I had a feeling that they'd become pregnant soon...they just adopted a baby=)  Their babies will be 11 months apart!  Boy are they going to have their hands full!
I made this card for this week's Bellarific Friday Challenge, which was Aquamarine.  I went with the shades of Aquamarine in my paper from My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose Collection, I used the Mabel line.  I stamped Expectafellabella in Momento Ink on Neenah Cardstock coloring it in with Copics.  I sponged around the image with Versamagic Sea Breeze and Wheat Ink.  I used Smooch on the flowers and a glaze pen on the belt buckle.  Cherry Cobbler, Peach Parfait, Bermuda Bay Cardstock.  Nesties, CB Pindot Folder, Maya Roads Ribbon, and Denami Design Buttons.
I have some crafting news...I applied for the Copics Imtermediate Certification Class over the weekend and got my acceptance email on Monday.  I'm pretty excited!
Thank-you for stopping by.  Have a great weekend.

World Rare Disease Day, 2011...

Today is World Rare Disease Day.  Are you wearing your Zebra's or Zebra prints to raise awareness for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome?  While I was at the mall Saturday I found a really cute and goofy Zebra shirt for my daughter and I to wear today.  I hope it will bring a smile to someone's day=)  Fingers crossed I remember to take pictures=)
I made this card to "Celebrate" today.  I was diagnosed with EDS a year and a half ago and remember the day my Dr. gave me my diagnosis.  He said something like, "I'm sorry but I've never seen someone be so happy to be diagnosed before".  I won't go into the long story about what happened, but I was happy to know what I was told I had for the 2 previous years was a misdiagnosis=)
Anyhow, my Zebra's are from Viva Las Vegas Stamps.  If you are ever in Las Vegas, it is a fun store to visit.  I stamped them on Neenah c/s with Momento Ink.  I did some shading with my Prismacolor Pencils.  I went over the black stripes with a gel pen.  I used Prismacolor Pencils for the ground, sponged Versamagic Sea Breeze, Ranger Aqua, and Tim Holtz Faded Jean for the sky, making a moon mask with a 1 1/4 inch cirle punch.  I sponged black ink around the edges of the whole card.  I used just a small strip of Zebra Print paper since my image was so big...Soft Sky Ribbon and some random buttons to finish off the card.
Thank-you for stopping by.  Have a great week!
*ETA: I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier, for my crafting friends...you can help raise awareness by making a Zebra/Zebra Print Card.  Since I'm computer challenged, just comment on this post with a link to your card=)  Thank-you for your support!

For the New Mr. & Mrs.

This card is on it's way to Idaho to my daughter's friends (Paul and Sarah) who were married earlier this month.  I wish them a long and happy life together!
As soon as I saw this paper from My Mind's Eye, I knew it would make the perfect Wedding Card for Paul and Sarah.  It's the new Stella & Rose Collection, this is from the "Mabel" line.  I am totally loving Stella & Rose release!  Anyhow, pretty simple and basic card...Chocolate Chip Base, Aqua Shimmer Paper (Denami Design).  The Aqua ribbon I think is from American Crafts.  The lace and letter's are from My Mind's Eye.  I used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges.  Thank-you Karen for giving me a quick run down on the Distress Inks and helping me with my color choice=)
World Rare Disease Day is tomorrow...do you have something "Zebra" to wear?
Thank-you for stopping by, have a great week!

For Arlene...

Arlene's birthday was earlier this week, she's a sweet Bella Sistah of mine=)  I made this card for her, which amazingly enough arrived on her birthday.  I don't know how I managed that timing!  I used SC320 for my layout and entered this is for Stamping Bella's Bellarific Friday Challenge, which was to use a stamp that hasn't seen ink before.  I love this Alice stamp, I think she's so adorable!  I used the new My Mind's Eye Line- Stella & Rose and I am loving it!  This part of the collection is called "Gertie".  Anyhow, I inked Alice up in Momento in, stamping her on Neenah Cardstock and coloring her in with Copics, sponging around her with Versamagic Wheat Ink.  I paper pieced her teacup.  I added a glaze pen to her headband and shoes.  Cherry Cobbler Cardstock, Denami Design Ribbon and Button and SU Linen Thread.
Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you'll support me on Monday, World Rare Disease Day and wear Zebra Stripes to raise awareness for Ehlers-Danlos Sydrome.  Have a fabulous weekend!

Monogram Thank-you's

Some quick and simple Monogram Cards I made to thank my customers for their orders earlier this month.  I had a lot of fun making their cards=)

On a side note...Monday the 28th is World Rare Disease Day.  The theme for this year is, "Rare but Equal".  As some of you know, I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a rare genetic connective tissue disorder.  In support of EDS and to raise awareness, please wear "Zebra Stripes" (ribbon, bracelet, shirt, anything!) on Monday.  I'd appreciate your support=)  Have a fabulous day!

Picture Perfect..

A friend of mine did a pregnancy photo shoot for a gal who recently had a little girl.  He wanted me to make a card for him to her to thank her for his business and to congratulate her on the birth of her daughter.  This is what I came up with.  When I made the card, I still had the supplies from the lil' penguin card on my desk so I just picked up from there and used most of the same supplies.  I stamped the Zebra from SU's Zoofari set in Momento Ink, coloring her in with Copics.  I sponged Versamagic Wheat Ink around her.  My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup DSP, Blushing Bride and Bermuda Bay Cardstock.  Denami Design Ribbon and Twine.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a great rest of the week.
