On the Island...

Our book club read On the Island by Tracey Garvis Grave.  I have to say it was one great book!  I couldn't put it down, staying up one night until 2:30 am to finish it.  It was one of those books that had you laughing, crying, and held you in suspense.  I highly recommend it.  I made this card to thank Brittany, our hostess for this month.  She held our book club meeting on Saturday right after she threw a baby shower for our friend Lauren.  It was a jam packed day!

I stamped Reading Flopsey in Momento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I used a Glaze Pen on his Glasses.  Crumb Cake and BG Out of Print paper.  Die-namics Pretty Posies, Denami Design Buttons, SU Linen Thread, SU Photo Corner Punch, Sentiment from PI Soldier Boy.  My entry for this weeks MFTWSC79.

Thank-you for stopping by!!!

Baby Tanner-to-be...

My friend Lauren had her baby shower on Saturday.  She's having a little boy, naming him Tanner...tho she really wanted to "steal" (as she says) my grandsons name, Wylie but her hubs wasn't going for it, lol.  Her baby shower was a lot of fun and she was showered with lots of gifts for baby Tanner.  Brittany did a fabulous job hosting the shower, then held our book club meeting right after...both were a lot of fun!

This weeks CAS-ual Friday Challenge is Text Me, to use text in your card.  This is my entry for CFC60.

My card is very clean and simple.  I started out with Gina K's 120 lb luxury white, stamping Denami Design Elephant in SU's retired Luscious Lime, stamping "baby" from the SU set All-Year Cheer II in SU's retired Going Gray.  I added Denami Design Lime Ribbon, Denami Design Star Button, and some Stone Twine.  Then I mounted it on a Going Gray base.

This elephant was the inspiration for my card.

My gift to Lauren.
I also made a matching gift bag but forgot to take pictures of it.

Thank-you for stopping by.  I hope ya'll have a great week!

Happy Beerday...

I made this for my hubs birthday which was yesterday.  He took Thursday and Friday off to make a long weekend which has been nice having him home.  We went to the movies last night to see Savages then out for Mexican food for dinner.  We headed home after so we can check on our Chihuahua's.  Chi Chi (our oldest) has been very ill the last couple of weeks.  She was down to 4 platelets.  Yes, 4.  We had no idea she was anemic and was suffering from an autoimmune disease.  We noticed she's been losing a little weight but she seemed fine, acted and ate like normal.  She had blood Friday and happy to say her platelet count was up to 397.  She's doing better, but not out of the woods yet.  Our littlest chihuahua, Corona has a growth between her toes.  They opened it, drained it a little and did x-rays.  She has a mini looking cast like thing on her paw she has to wear for two weeks and will go back to have it looked at too see if they can remove it.  Thankfully our other chihuahua, Kahlua is happy and healthy!

Happy Beerday

My entry for this weeks Bellariffic Friday Challenge, which is embossing. This is the first time I've inked up Beer Peep from Stamping Bella though I've had it forever.  I did my usual, Memento, Neenah, and Copics.  I went over the bottle with a Glaze Pen.  Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, and EP Little Boy Paper.  Denami Design Button, Twine and CB Folder.  This is the first time I've played along with the gals over at Freshly Made Sketches.  This is FMS42

Thank-you so much for stopping by.
Hope you have a great weekend!
I'm off to a baby shower then a book club meeting=)

Thanks for your support...

Happy 4th of July!!!  I hope everyone is having a fabulous day!  We're having a relaxing one.  Suppose to BBQ but it looks like a storm is coming so we may hold off 'till tomorrow.  This evening we'll head to the base with our daughter and grandboys to watch the fireworks.
Anyhow, one of our Key Spouse's decided to step down from her position a couple of weeks ago.  It was a pleasure working with her these past few months.  I bought her some flowers and  made her a card to thank her for all the time and energy she has given into the Key Spouse Program.  Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend the Commander's Call where they thanked her for her time as a Key Spouse so I sent the card and flowers in with my hubs=)

I started out stamping PI Paper Doll in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I added a Glaze Pen to her hair clip and shoes.  Riding Hood Red, Night of Navy and MME American Made paper.  Die-namics Paper Doll Border, SU Punch, Sentiment from PI Soldier Boy, Button and SU Twine.  My layout is MFTWSC71.

Have a safe and Happy 4th of July!

Eeek...sorry I've been MIA=(  It's been a busy last couple of weeks for me.  I've been crafting, but haven't had the time to blog, sigh.  Anyhow, as most of you know I'm a Key Spouse for my hubs squadron and one of my duties is to check up on our deployed spouses.  I also like to send them "happy mail" every month to let them know I'm thinking of them and am here if they need anything.  These are the cards I made them for July...

I started off stamping PI My Little Firecracker in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I paper pieced her dress.  I added a Glaze Pen to her shoes, a Glitter Pen to her sparkler and Star Rhinestones.  Riding Hood Red, Night of Navy and MME American Made paper.  Die-namice Mini Monarch Border, SU Photo Corner Punch, Sentiment from PI Lady Liberty.  My entry for this weeks MFTWSC78.
