Huggabugg Well Wishes...

A card order for my friend Wendy for her grandmother.  I actually made this a couple of weeks ago but am just getting around to posting it.  Wendy went through my SCS Gallery and saw this card.  She asked if I could keep the sketch, change up the papers and change flowers to ladybugs.  This is what I came up with...

I stamped Fluey Huggabugg by Christy Croll in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I used Prismacolor Pencils and OMS for shading.  Stickles on the wings.  Crystal Lacquer on the ice pack.  I off set the image when I cut it out with my Nesties to have room for the Ladybugs.  Melon Mambo, Black, and EP Country Drive paper.  MS Border Punch, SU Photo Corner Punch.  Sentiment from Hambo Stamps.  My layout is from Paper Crafts.

Thank-you for stopping by.  Enjoy your day!

Bedtime Stories...

For my friend Brittany to thank her for hostessing this months book club meeting. It was quite the meeting...we read "Fifty Shades of Grey" by E.L. James.  Most of us read all three books, while others found it hard to get through the first.  It is most definitely a read for a "mature audience".  I personally liked the trilogy, I couldn't put the books down I just had to know what was going to happen next.  I was let down with the 3rd book, I thought it was all over the place and felt she was a bit bored or got tired of writing the story.  Having said that, I still enjoyed the trilogy as a whole and would read them all over again.  Anyhow, onto my card...

My entry for MFTWSC68.  I got my order from MFT a couple days ago (which I have to say they are super fast with their processing and shipping!) and had to color this lil' gal up.  She's my first A' la Mode.  I started off stamping Here's the Story A' la Mode in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  Early Espresso, Authentique Gathering paper, Die-Namics Open Scallop Edge and Pretty Posies, Sentiment from WTG Well Read Set, SU Photo Corner Punch, Felt, Denami Design Button and SU Baker's Twine.  My finished card is a 5x5 square which I don't usually do but it worked best for the sketch.

Thank-you for stopping by.  Hope you have a great day!  I'm off to get my teeth cleaned=)

May Flowers...

I didn't realize Blogger changed until I logged in this morning and saw that the card I had prescheduled to post on Saturday didn't post=(  Apparently they changed their format in the middle of me making that post.  My fingers are crossed this transition goes smoothly because I am not a tech savvy gal!  Anyhow, I have another birthday coming up that I needed to make a card for=)

And apparently the transition didn't go too well, lol...note to self, whatever you just did, don't do it again, or your post will post if you are ready or not=(  Sorry about that guys!
Anyhow...I made this for this weeks BLD29 which is a Sketch Challenge.  It's also for this weeks Bellariffic Friday Challenge, which is Flowers.  I used Pookie Lollipop, stamped her in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I shaded with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  Melon Mambo cardstock, Denami Design Ribbon, CB Folder and Nesties.  Very Clean and Simple.

Thank-you for stopping by!  Have a great week!

Lulu Thank's You #3...

I made this card a while ago and never got around to posting it, eek!  My friend Lindsey ordered some cards from me to thank her Pampered Chef Hostesses.  She wanted to send each of them a special thank-you card as they each hosted in her first month of signing up to be a consultant and helped her get a great start her business.

I started out stamping Lulu's Two Pie's in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I used Prismacolor Pencils and OMS for shading.  A Glaze Pen on the buttons and pie tins.  Stickles on the apron.  I went over her hair with a multi-liner to give it that crisp black color.  Rose Red, EP Country Drive and EP Dots & Stripes Candy Shoppe paper.  SU Border Punch, Linen Thread, Denami Design Ribbon and Button.  I used CPS152 for my layout.

It's suppose to be a scorcher tomorrow, our first 100 degree day of the year!
Thank-you for stopping by, have a great weekend!

Pickles and Ice Cream...

Our friends recently found out they are expecting=)  I made them this card to congratulate them on their wonderful news!

I thought I'd give this weeks RCC49 a try.  The challenge is Color-a-licious.  To use those bright colors you might not usually choose. Well, the yellow ended up not the bright yellow I intended but turned to be the mustard yellow that's in the lines of my background paper.  I can honestly say these are colors I would not usually choose, lol.  This is also my entry for this weeks Bellariffic Friday Challenge which is a Sketch Challenge.  I started out stamping Pregapeep in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics then shading with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  I used a Glaze Pen on the jar and ice cream container.  Sahara Sand, Lucky Limeade, EP Boys Mini Theme, and BG Origins paper.  SU Photo Corner Punch, CB Swiss Dot Folder, Denami Design Buttons and Jute Twine.

I'm looking forward to this weekend.  I'm taking another class from Terry Medaris.  He teaches Prismacolor Pencils, but with a different approach to blending.  This class will focus on people- their shadows, shading, and highlighting.  I'm so excited.  I really want to get back into using my pencils again, they've been pretty neglected.

Thank-you for stopping by.  Have a wonderful weekend!!!
*ETA- due to the insanely amount of spam I've been getting on this one card, I've turned off the comments.

"Happy Hunger Games!!!"

"...and may the odds be ever in your favor."  Yes, I'm reading The Hunger Games...currently on the 3rd book.  I must say it is a good read.  Anyhow, I made this card for Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge 124, which is an Inspiration Challenge.  Using rs#7 for my layout.

The inspiration I took from the photo was the picture hanging on the back wall.  Every time I looked at the photo my eye was drawn to that picture.  I just love it!  I started out stamping Artemis (Katniss, hehe) in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I went over her bow and arrow with a Glitter Pen and her head dress with a Glaze Pen.  I stamped the tree from SU's Branch Out in Crumb Cake, then used Soft Sky and Pool Party for the foliage.  Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo for the sponging and edges.  Denami Design Ribbon and Button, SU Linen Thread.

Thank-you for stopping by.  Have a wonderful evening!

I needed to make a quick birthday card and thought this I Spy Sketches was perfect.  This is my first time playing along in one of their challenges=)

I started off stamping Sake Ketto in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I shaded with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  Sentiment from Stamping Bella.  Sahara Sand, Blush Blossoms and BG Konnichiwa (which I am absolutely in love with!) papers.  SU Crumb Cake Seam Binding, SU Pink Organdy Ribbon, SU Linen Thread and Denami Design Button.  I used ISSC11 .

Stuck in Bed...

This is my first time playing along in one of The Ribbon Carosel Challenges.  I came across their blog from YNS blog, isn't it great how that works?!?!  This is my entry for RCC48 which is a sketch challenge YNS is sponsoring.

I stamped Get Well Soon Fhiona in Memento Ink, on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I wanted to give the bed and nightstand just a tad of color, almost like a "whitewash" feel though you can barely see in the photo that it has any color at all.  Ah well.  I used a Glaze Pen on the bed posts knobs, water pitcher, glass and her headband and a Glitter Pen on all the hearts.  Pool Party, Sahara Sand and My Minds Eye Miss Caroline Howdy Doody paper.  Pool Party Ribbon, SU Linen Thread, Denami Design Button.

Thank-you for stopping by.  Have a great day!

Sending Sweet Thoughts...

I made these for the deployed spouses in my hubs squadron.  I'm a Key Spouse for his squadron, one of my duties is to check up on the deployed spouses and make sure they're doing ok while their spouse is away.  Every so often I like to send them some "Happy Mail" to let them know I'm thinking of them and that I'm here for them if they ever need anything while their spouse is deployed.

I started off stamping PI Make Mine a Double in Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics.  I used a Glaze Pen on her shoes and hearts and Stickles on the ice cream scoop.  Prismacolor Pencils and OMS for the ground and Tim Holtz Distress Inks for the edges.  Groovy Guava, Mint Melody and Cosmo Cricket Phoebe paper.  Die-Namics and Rhinestones.  My entry for this weeks MFTWSC67

Thank-you for stopping by.  Have a fabulous week!

Retro Birthday Wishes...

I think one of the hardest things for me is giving my posts/cards a "title".  I just sit and stare at the computer screen...blank...does anyone else have the same problem?  I don't know why I have such a issue giving my cards/posts titles but I do, lol.

Anyhow, this is for Tiddly Ink Challenge #83- Birthday Bash.  I'm using one of Christy's Digi Freebies called Ellie.  She's printed out on Neenah, colored with copics.  I did the "out of the box" technique with Nesties then added Smooch and  Crytal Lacquer to the balloons and a Glaze Pen to her.  Sahara Sand, My Mind's Eye Follow Your Heart paper.  CB Folder, SU Photo Corner Punch, Sentiment from The Cat's Pajamas.  I just came across retro sketches last night while reading my google reader, they have some fun sketches.  I used rs6 for my layout.

Thank-you for stopping by.  Have a great week.

Thank-you Lynette...

Happy Easter Everyone.  I hope ya'll had a fabulous day with your loved ones.  We went to brunch at my oldest grandson Wylie's favorite place to eat, IHOP=)  I made this card for a gal in my book club, Lynette to thank her for hosting our book club meeting.  We read Memoirs of a Geisha which is one of my favorite books.  I think I've read it 3 or 4 times now.  I'm really enjoying getting back into reading, it's been so long!  I finally broke down and bought a Kindle Fire two weeks ago.  I'm reading my 3rd book on it right now...I really like the convenience of downloading and having the book at your fingertips in seconds.  I think my hubs likes that I can read in bed until 12 or 1 o'clock in the morning and not have the light on to disturb him while he sleeps.  Definitely one of my favorite things I've spent money on=) (well besides crafty stuff of course!).

I started out staming my image (sure do wish I had the MFT PI Good Fortune, it would've been perfect for this card!) with Memento Ink on Neenah, coloring with Copics and using Nesties and Die-Namics Dizzy Doily Duo.  I paper pieced her pants, shirt, pillows and book.  Sahara Sand and Basic Grey Out of Print paper.  Sentiment from SU Noteworthy Stamp set, SU Photo Corner Punch and Border Punch, Denami Design Rhinestones.  My layout is this weeks MFTWSC66.

Thank-you for stopping by.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

One of my friends, Lauren recently found out that her and her husband are expecting.  I made her this card to congratulate her.  I thought that she was having a girl with how sick she's been, so I went for more girly colors...but she announced at our book club meeting that she just found out she was having a boy=)

Friends Rain or Shine...

This is for my customer and good friend Lindsey.  She asked me to make a card with an umbrella, using the color combo yellow, purple, and green.  I hope she likes it and I hope the friend she's sending it to likes it as well=)

Ella's Umbrella is a digital image from BLD.  I just love that big umbrella and lil' frog!  She's printed out on Neenah, colored with Copics.  I used Crystal Lacquer on her umbrella and rainboots.  A Glaze Pen on the rain puddle and metal on the umbrella.  Barely Banana, Certainly Celery, BG Kioshi paper.  Denami Design Ribbon, SU Border Punch, Button, and Twine.  My entry for BLD27.

Wow, it's Monday already!?!?  My weekend just flew by!  Friday I had a book club meeting then went on a date with my sweet hubs after.  Saturday my hubs and I spent the day up in Phoenix...I suffered in the miserable heat while he went to his favorite stores (junk yards) and then he suffered in the miserable heat while I went to my favorite stores (scrapbooking stores).  We are quite the pair!

I made this for this weeks MFTWSC65...and I'm on time, yay!  I started out stamping Jolinne Fairy Sweet in Memento Ink on Neenah Cardstock, coloring with Copics then fussy cut her out.  I used Smooch on the wings and a Glaze Pen on her shoes and ribbon.  Barely Banana, Pear Pizzaz, Cosmo Cricket Tea for Two paper, SU Photo Corner Punch, and Die-Namics Dizzy Doily Duo .
